Anyone know how to fight a dinosaur?

[Someone got out on the wrong side of the velociraptor-susceptible bed this morning. Shirtless and rumpled and bleeding all over the toilet cistern he's sitting on, Luke's having the worst sleepover ever.

But there is a moment of peace in which to make this whispered video, and so he tacks on a maudlin revelation.]

America's stuff's disappeared. That means he's really gone, doesn't it?

[He knows it does. Doesn't stop him hoping someone will tell him otherwise.

Something heavy slams into the bathroom door, and Luke jerks back, staring for one, two tense seconds as he waits to recreate the worst scene in Jurassic Park. Outside, that shit-stirring little reptile is hissing and screeching like the smug bastard he is. He knows what he does.]

But the dinosaur's free. And mad. The dinosaur's really mad. Help. Please.

[Someone. Before he has to start surviving off toothpaste and soap flakes.]

Goodness! I've never seen something so curious in all my life!

[And on the camera is Alice, adorably bundled up in the snow and reaching out to touch one of the breaks in the air. It sparks right in front of her...well, where her eyes should be, and she giggles. It didn't hurt and it was such a strange and odd little thing. But then, she looks a bit thoughtful.]

Hm, well. Actually, I have seen something like it once before. I was a different person then though, much different. I think I was about three and a half inches taller, and I was much more royal back then.

[It's true – it was even at Christmas time too! These little rifts in the air are very, very familiar. She reaches out and touches one again and it sparks.]

It's very curious anyhow though. I wonder why they don't go anywhere? A hole ought to go somewhere if it's going to be floating about that way. But, hm. Perhaps it just hasn't cracked quite enough...that's for the best though. What a mess that was...

[It'd been so hard to clean up. She doesn't envy the current Queens one bit.]

Everything is strange lately! Some of you very much aren't yourselves. Or, maybe it's more accurate to say you're too much yourselves. Far too much! Far too much and too far away...whatever are you doing here?

Well, in any case, you've made it just in time for the holidays! You've timed it all impressively well, and all of you ought to be applauded for it.

[And she smiles, and claps her gloved hands. Good job! Congratulations!

The post suddenly ends there though, and if one recognizes where she was on the grounds, they will not find her there anymore. However, she will answer all replies to her message. ♥

[Is that the sound of sleigh bells jingling, and—

No. No jingling here. In fact, it's more like crashing. Toothless had left the decorations alone, at first, but now he's discovered that it makes noise when you paw at it. Life may never be the same in the mansion again, at least until January. He doesn't understand it all (why would you want just one tree when you could have a forest) but he's determined to enjoy it.

The view on his comm shows him, every so often, rampaging around the mansion. He can be easily found by sound alone, chewing on things and dragging decorations around. Purely on accident, a giant red bow has tangled haphazardly around his neck.]

[Amy realizes the device is a phone-type thing. But, being unable to reach the Doctor, she begins to use it like a walkie-talkie. She figures there's a chance that he'll catch the broadcast if she talks long enough. He's bound to be looking for her, right?]

Haha, Doctor, very funny. Next time you decide to push me out of the TARDIS or mess with the teleport system or whatever, a little warning would be nice.

[She pauses and her slightly cross, somewhat teasing tone brightens.]

But am I really in Wonderland? I mean, it looks right but is it really, truly a place? [She stops for a moment and the rustling of paper can be heard as she shoves a brochure into her pocket.] Are you even listening to this or am I rambling to myself again?

[Another pause.]

Rory, if you're still with him, you better be coming back right this instant to come get me. I'll be waiting in the gardens for you both. Just...don't take as long as last time, okay? I'm not sure how much more of time and space I can rip apart and put back together, okay?

[The audio cuts out and she heads over to the gardens. She marvels at the beauty of it all. Those curious enough to hunt her down will find her wandering around with a giant taser gun. She has enough trust in the Doctor that he'll find his way to her but she isn't sure what'll find her first.]

[With the Doctor's arrival and a new companion, Amy feels that it's finally time to do something that's been long overdue: A companion slumber party. It's mostly an excuse for gossip on the Doctor but also a chance to get to know the others better as well. She's spent all morning getting things set up and making space in her room to host everyone.]

Right, since it looks like there's another of us here and a Doctor as well, I say we have ourselves a little get together and get to know each other better. We can help her get settled in and learn a thing or two about the Doctor. I'm sure there's plenty of things we all have to say about him. So whenever you're ready, head on over to room 207. I've got a few things set up but feel free to bring anything with you or we can always pull it out of the closet. See you soon.

[Her room will be set up with soft fairy lights that twinkle like stars against her blue walls. A vase of sunflowers sits on her bedside table. Various bits of arts and crafts projects resembling her Doctor sit about on a table. But there are also snacks and drinks sitting about and plenty of blankets and pillows.]

[ooc: feel free to set up your own threads! Everyone can mingle and chat and dish about the Doctor and paint their nails or braid hair or chat about adventures or what have you.]

[ Rose Tyler is no stranger to portal jumping, accustomed to blinking and finding herself in another world, another universe, another plane of existence. Home, or her surrogate home, as she's come to think of it, is only a place to dust off her shoes before the next jump. Parallel Earths and alien fields and unfamiliar constellations up above are old hat now.

But Wonderland? The incredulous expression on her face is nearly amused, brown eyes warm and curious as she blinks into the camera, fingers raking lightly through dyed golden hair. Headquarters is going to get an earful about jumbled up cannon coordinates when she gets back. Still, she can't help but be a little fascinated by it all, despite the kink in all of her grand plans, her search for that someone she'll never be able to let go of, not ever. ]

's real, then? The Queen of Hearts and all that. I mean, it's a bit brilliant, really and I'm all about a good cuppa with a mad man every now and then but this isn't exactly what I was aiming for, y'know? The way out... still through the rabbit hole, or is that too easy?

[ There's a brief, uncertain pause, her teeth edging into her lower lip thoughtfully before she carries on, giving in to the other nagging question nearly always on her mind. ]

Oh- Oh Really? That's unexpected.

[There's a man on the screen, his thick brown hair sticking up in all directions like he's been worrying it with his fingers, and the location is definitely near the fountain, where he sits on the edge and grins at the camera, curiosity glinting in his eyes and his face incredibly animated.]

Hello! Aren't you brilliant? Never  thought that the afterlife would come with wifi! Well, never expected there was an afterlife at all, actually, but wifi is probably the last expectation I'd have if I did.  Learn something new every day!

I'm The Doctor, by the way. [There's a bit of a flinch to that, and he tilts his head side to side as if weighing his next word.] Thouugh, if one of my theories are correct I may not be the only one. Fantastic gardening here by the way, bit Alice in Wonderland. You know I took Charles with me on a short trip to  Mimsy, a planet in the Mirror Galaxy that's around, oh say ninety percent gardens? Bit of a squabble going on at the time. He claims not to remember a bit of it but honestly I think he just wanted all the credit. Definitely not Mimsy though...Smells wrong.

[He clicks his tongue and takes a breath, looking over the camera and around at his surroundings again. Then after a moment he looks back, a charming smile on his lips.]

[Waking up in a room you're familiar with but not quite being able to place it wasn't entirely odd to Amy. It's not like she's been in too many places for that long since she started traveling with the Doctor, after all. What was weird what she remembered before she woke up. Her head is still a little foggy from whatever the Cyberman shot at her. But everything that happened while she was gone comes back in a rush. Something horrible was going to happen to the TARDIS, maybe even the Doctor. Then the cyberman started attacking her and…and here she was in a room that was almost like her one back in Leadworth except for the calendar on the wall.

She wonders how long she's been gone. It felt like only a day back home. The timelioop situation had been taken care of and they were investigating the Pandorica…piecing together memories of her time in Wonderland and her life back home took a few moments to organize.

Once she gathers her bearings, she grabs her phone. After her death here, she doesn't want to waste time letting people know she's back, but she doesn't know where to start. Still lost on what to say, she opens the video. And after a moment, she just begins rambling. She looks groggy and disoriented.]

So it's true, then. We go back home and we don't remember our time here. But once we're back, it's all there. Everything we did here, everyone we met. It's like it never happened when we're home but it did happen. How does that even work? How can we forget everything when we leave but remember it all when we return?

[There's a pause from her rambling and she runs a hand through her hair. She straightens and fixes her gaze on the camera.]

Right. How long was I gone and what did I miss?

[Poor Tohru's been working incredible amounts of overtime lately.

Aerith vanished not long after Ruby did - and Tohru is sad, of course, and she will always miss them both, but she's barely had any time to grieve. She just launched herself right back into her work, because if she didn't, then who would run the diner?!

She knows without another cook or two that the diner can't possibly survive much longer, but she's barely had a minute to even think about that. For the last several weeks she's practically lived in the diner, and when the diner had moments of slowness she's had her nose in books, trying to teach herself some of the recipes that Ruby had never gotten the chance to. She's doing everything she can, and she's appreciated all of the help she's received, even if all of her offers have been for waiting tables and washing dishes.

Very early this morning, the camera catches Tohru...sleeping. She's sitting in one of the booths with a rag in her hand and her head resting on her arm. It's entirely obvious what happened - she was cleaning up and closing when she just started to nod off, exhausted from her long days. She might have thought that she'd just rest her eyes for just a minute or two, and then just...accidentally fell asleep there for the night.

And that's it. That's the video. Just a small glimpse at how tired she's been. First person to turn up gets to wake her up, everyone else still gets a mortified Tohru who is super embarrassed that the network caught her sleeping that way, oh no!

The painting displays the sea, though it’s far more ominous than the sea in front of them right now. It looks like the sky in the painting is in the midst of a storm. The shoreline appears violent, and there is a lighthouse casting a beam of light into the darkness.]

...Um. [And she clears her throat.] Hi. I ... already said that, nevermind. Hi, I'm Felicity Smoaks, from Starling City. [And then her expression pinches together like she wishes she could bang her head into a wall, but she refrains.] ...I promise I won't say it again. [There's a vague tone of anxiety in her voice, even fear, but it's mostly filled with wonder-- like part of her can't believe it, and yet the other part, the slightly nerdy part that made it impossible for her to get a date in college, is almost giddy at the possibilities.

If she could just get over the completely scary aspects of being transported out of her home and into this place against her will, she'd be just dandy.]

And, um... look, I know I'm probably the thousandth person to ask this, but it's only my second day and even though I found the pamphlet and understand what it seems to be saying-- [A shake of her head.] I'm just-- just checking. I did a little investigating the other day and I am happy to say that I found a room large enough to house all of you crazy people.

[When the video flickers to life, you see a view of Wonderland's night skies. It stays there for a moment before you hear a certain voice with a Scottish lilt that has been missing for the pat week.]

Have you ever looked up at the sky and thought "Wow, look at all those colors?" A very good friend once taught me to look beyond the blacks and see the hidden colors painting the night. I can't see them as well without him here, but I can still remember the vibrancy with which they shone. And it makes me wonder just how much good is hiding right before our eyes.

[Amy is out lying in the grass, looking up at all the stars. It's good for thinking and remembering and feeling alive. She doesn't let the video focus on her just yet and there's a pause, as if that is all that is on her mind. But she's really thinking about the past week that she's played ninja. Actually really and truly dying has been a whole new experience for her. One she didn't care for at all.

She's hidden away from her friends and hasn't been in her room much at all. She's popped into the dining room for food when no one else has been around but hasn't spent any time in the mansion otherwise. She wonders if this really was a good idea after all. But she can't just keep hiding out here. She doesn't have the survival instincts for that. So she figures it's time to stop avoiding everyone and rejoin the living. And after seeing the singing flowers, her spirits are in better shape. She's still a bit shaken up from how the sunflower screamed when she tried to pick it, but that's a story for a different day.]

They're gone, aren't they? Those hell hounds…they really know how to do their job.

[If you think you can hear music, that's probably because you can. If you're paying attention to your comm, or you're near a certain hallway of the mansion, at least. The tune may or may not sound familiar, but it's most definitely coming from a sudden forest that seems to have sprouted up overnight.

Well. Maybe 'field' is a better term.

It's no ordinary field, of course. Those giant roses, daffodils, tulips and pansies (and many more) are definitely the ones doing the singing. And they have very fine voices indeed, harmonizing together and swaying with the beat. In fact, the flowers spill farther than just the one hallway, but not too much. The main issue here is that the flowers are as big as dinner plates, and they seem to have faces of a sort. But some lie in piles of petals - Wonderland's already started to beat them back, it seems. You may find navigating the hallway to be difficult, given that the flowers seem intent on swaying with anyone who strolls by.

The creator of this chaos is sitting, casually, in a lawn chair next to a blue pansy.]

[Amy's heard the warnings from the network and felt how the howls skated along her spine like ice. She knows they are dangerous. The smartest thing would be to go to someone for protection. She usually does until the Doctor's gone in first or waits until she knows that someone might be able to help her.

This, however, is Wonderland. The Doctor's here and she has a phone full of names she can call if she gets into trouble. She's never been good at doing the smart thing or waiting things out. Her curiosity has always been a terrible curse. She can't sit back and watch things happen from a safe distance.

She's out in the hallways when they descend upon the mansion. She meant to make just a quick stop from her room to the diner. She'd hope the others would have secured the building by now so she could at least make it there but she knows Wonderland is tricky. And these beasts don't sound friendly. She can't see anything but she can hear them. There are distant screams, those eerie howls, and the sound of claws on the floors.

A window shatters down the hall. She whips around to face the beast and is startled to realize she can't see it. But she knows it's there. And that it is aware of her. She lets out a small noise and opens the first door she sees and slams it shut. She curses when she realizes it won't lock.

She remembers talking to Kevin about salt earlier and is glad she put a shaker of it in her pocket. She sprinkles a thin line of it at both entrances and backs herself into a corner. She takes the time to give herself a nice wide circle before she turns on her phone.]

But...the more she thought about it, the more she realized that she should be happy for Ruby. Ruby would probably want to be at home with her family and friends, living a normal life without Wonderland. But...that didn't make it less sad that Wonderland took her away without letting anyone say good-bye.

Now though, she's finally addressing the network, from their diner. They built it together so it's still their diner, even though Ruby's gone now.

Um...hello! [And she gives a small wave at the camera.] I hope everyone's doing well, now that we've come back.

[It takes Tohru a moment to figure out exactly how to say what she wants to say, even though she thought long and hard about this post before she made it. It's just...a hard subject, that's all. But, she tries to stay cheerful!]

It, uh. It seems that Ruby was able to go home. Which is sad, but it's also kind of good too. Everyone wants to go home, so...maybe we should be happy for her, that she was allowed to leave.

[She clasps her hands together then, as if sending out a tiny, quiet prayer to Ruby.]

...I just wanted to let everyone know that the diner's still remaining open. I think it's something really important to have here in Wonderland, so...I'd like to continue it, if at all possible, even though Ruby is gone. Err, I mostly did the Japanese side of the menu, but Ruby had been showing me how to make a little bit of the American side...I'll do my best until we find another cook, if there's anything anyone wants that she usually cooks! Hopefully I'll be able to do her dishes justice.

[They will have to get another cook eventually, or at the very least teach Aerith how to cook more things. But Tohru still wants to keep the diner running in the meantime.]

Oh! That's right though, I almost forgot. Um...that chess match was really difficult, but everyone fought bravely! I wanted to do something to thank you all for it. I-I know we didn't win, and that a lot of people suffered very badly...but I made a special treat for everyone who was forced onto the field. It was a terrible event, and I know it isn't very much, but I hope you'll all take them, as a token of gratitude and sympathy. I really, truly hope no one is forced to do something like that again.

They're up here in the diner, so please come claim yours! And everyone else is welcome too, if they want to stop by.

[And she waves at the camera quick before shutting it off.]

[Clara's not looking all that great in the moment. A bit bumped and bruised, her hair's an awful mess, and it's painfully obvious she's recently been crying. She looks a bit lost and bewildered, and when she opens her mouth to speak she seems to second guess herself and clamps her jaw shut.]

I don't know where I am.

[She finally admits, softly, and takes a moment to look around her from her spot on the ground. Memories of this place come flooding back to her, and she realizes pretty quickly where she is. She's got that going for her, at least.]

The maze, most likely. Think that'd be just my luck. [A pause, and she tries smiling. It falls flat.] The impossible girl, lost again.

[She isn't sure what else to say other than that, she figures someone out there that knows her ought to still be here and see this. She doesn't ask for help, despite needing it, and just decides to abruptly end the feed there.]

[ in the background is the tea room of the second floor. ]

Okay. So I'm definitely so not even close to Kansas. But do I still get ruby shoes to click together?

[ she tilts her head to the side, squinting her eyes. ]

[ and then, from the silence, she remembers herself, the situation at hand, and that this isn't some badly timed joke. ]

Right. Okay. So not the point. Who do I address here? Alice? The wicked Queen of Hearts? The Cheshire Cat? Whatever. Whoever I need to address this to, please - I have to go home. People need me home and I can't - [ she swallows, then cocks her head again, as if she's thinking aloud. ] You know, when you abduct someone, can we at least try not to make it when they're in the middle of something seriously important?

[ why caroline suspected a reply, she's not even sure, so she rolls her neck and allows the desperation she's trying to smother down come to the surface. she's really worried. she needs to go home. ]

Look, I just - Is my mom okay? Is Tyler really - [ she sighs, cuts herself off. she doesn't want to know. she doesn't want to ask if he's alive or not. he has to be alive. he has to be. ]

Whatever. [ denial, denial, denial. ] I'm going to just pretend this is Kansas and click my heels and either I'll somehow find myself back home or have really bloodied feet.

( ooc | feel free to video or action in the tea room with caroline being all distressed and sulky or reading the pamphlet! )
