[Some time Friday morning, September 8th, a new and particularly important broadcast appears on the network.

The feed flicks on to show Ford at a desk in his lab looking both tired and very guilty. ]

Uh, yes! Hello. Uh. Good morning?

[He clears his throat. Might as well get right down to it.]

As anyone who's slept since Wednesday will know, something weird has been happening. I may have been experimenting with a ward against a certain demonic triangle when there was an explosion that caused the ward's effects to warp and, for lack of better layman's terms, gave everyone the ability to traverse the Mindscape--that is, the realm parallel to any waking dimension.

To put it simply: Once you left consciousness at any point, you likely were able to explore your own mind, and the minds of others.

Fortunately, the effects seem to be temporary and I only singed half an eyebrow in the explosion, so... Good news! Everything should be back to normal by tomorrow.

Ahh, science. Well! That's all for today. If you don't want to deal with it, I suggest visiting one of the tea rooms for a delightful pot of industrial coffee. Always works for me!

[With a winning smile from Ford, the broadcast ends.]

[He woke up and--]

[Man, he hates those kinds of events. They're the worst. Worse than a regular old zombie invasion, worse than demonic creatures in tunnels, worse than anything the Mirrors can throw. Most events are just horrible, but some of them change you, and it's the worst thing. Waking up afterward is horrendous. You wake up unsure of where and who you are, and as the memories start to kind of wisp off, acquiring that post-mindfuck dreamlike quality, you start questioning if you're losing your real self or a fake self crafted by Wonderland.]

[It takes a few days for the mental turmoil to die down.]

[So naturally, while Sans is waiting for that to happen, he's going to pretend like absolutely nothing is wrong.]

[A few hours later, he's broadcasting from his hotdog stand. His regular old illegal hotdog stand where he sells real hotdogs and also water sausages posing as hotdogs, where nobody really gives a shit about food safety (not that it's unsafe, mind you). He's a regular old skeleton with his regular old pet cat selling regular old shitty street food in the middle of regular old Wonderland.]

[He opens the feed without any sort of preamble, as if he was already mid-conversation.]

anyway, i still don't actually know what a republican is.

hotdogs are back in business, obviously.

[He gestures at the top of his stand, where a sign just says "'dogs, 30g". He then gives an expansive shrug and grins wryly.]

what is the deal with politics, though?

[Hey look guys, it’s a network post from your ole pal, Bill! No, not the lizard and shame on you for being disappointed by that revelation! Yes he is a triangle, yes he is stunning and thankfully he doesn't seem to have packed any extra entertainment to explode into his broadcast today.]

“ALL RIGHT WONDERLAND, I think it’s HIGH TIME someone ASKS the BIG QUESTION-- just HOW MANY OF YOU come from the LAND OF LIVELY CORPSES?!

I GET IT. OUR ROTTING BRETHREN are CHARMING ENOUGH. IF anything the REST of you MORTALS should be like THEM. At least ZOMBIES ACCURATELY DISPLAY the TRUE HORROR of what BEING ALIVE FEELS LIKE—slowly SHAMBLING towards your DEATH every PASSING SECOND, you CAN’T KEEP YOUR PIECES TOGETHER and all you WANNA DO IS GRRRRROAN-- But I tend to LIKE a little VARIETY in my TORTURE! SO I wanna KNOW, just how many more MINDS do we gotta CYCLE THROUGH before we’ve VISITED ALL of your TRAUMA-- because I swear, if I have to GO through ANOTHER REALITY where I FAKE a BLOOD TEST, I just might have to START STOCKING UP.

[The triangle’s lid narrows at that, an unpleasant memory from Genosha flashing momentarily into his retina.]

“Now either we’re FAILING SOME KINDA TEST every time these SUCKERS COME BY or WONDERLAND’S started PICKING FAVORITES…

[And if it’s the latter, he really would like to know.]

“Anyway, you KIDS LOVE CONSPIRACIES; so LAY EM on ME! I think we ALL KNOW what HAPPENS when you DON’T~

[When the feed clicks on, Mettaton is at the camera, perfectly poised and smiling wide.]

Hello, Wonderland! Sorry for that little hiccup earlier!

[He fluffs his hair a bit, which definitely looks disheveled; an unusual deviation from his usual picture perfect looks.]

I had a small incident with Wonderland's local dream demon BUT! There's no need to fear, darlings, because your strong, amazing hero Mettaton repelled the evil doer! Wonderland is safe and so are the rest of you!

[He smiles, though it falters for just a brief second before he continues.]

Now, let's put this silly incident behind us, shall we? There's no need to worry about any of these shenanigans or torment yourself with worry over me (unless you want to, of course! ♥). I'm sure you'll see my shining face on the network sometime in the future again (minus any and all unauthorized uses of my brand) so I shall let you all return to your daily lives. Bye, darlings~!

[He pauses for a moment, blinks, and then hurriedly gives a cutesy wave and wink to the camera, though it's clear his heart isn't in it. The feed ends there.]

((ooc: Mettaton may respond to network responses but it will probably be sporadic due to the fact that he's feeling really rough right now. For anyone wanting to personally come and check on him, the door will have many latches and locks and Mettaton will not be opening his door for anyone other than close CR, if that. But he's fine. Absolutely fine! Totally.))

Hello Wonderland! This is Dr. Pines speaking.

Out of curiosity, how many of you have been to different dimensions, not counting this one? Alternate worlds? Other parallel planes of existence? Or... engaged in any form of time travel, for that matter. How did you do it? Was it even on purpose, or by some fluke?

I myself spent three decades adrift in the multiverse. Fascinating stuff.

[PRIVATE TO FIDDLEFORD & STAN]

Stanley, Fiddleford--

--We need to dismantle the portal in the basement and we have to do it as soon as possible. I can't just let that thing sit around being dangerous.

Fiddleford and I should be able to take it apart with no problems, but Stanley, since you did push to have it built in the first place I thought it was only fair to tell you what I want to do.

[There's a brief, awkward pause, and then...]

I've hurt enough people with my recklessness.

[They're outside the mansion. Judging from the background noise of rushing water, they've propped their camera up on the fountain. The feed is otherwise silent as they fiddle with components - PVC piping, a can of hairspray, PVC glue, all the usual expected components that scream "misguided attempt at a backyard potato gun." Because that's what they're making. A misguided attempt at a backyard potato gun.]

Amazing, the things the closets will just let you have. Few people seem to consider what being a child in Wonderland means. Bedtime is never, there's no such thing as education, and you can eat nothing but Twinkies and Cap'n Crunch if you want to. I kill the time by working in a diner, and nobody breathes a word about child labour.

Guess it's pretty lucky we never have to worry about growing up, because we're probably learning some pretty messed up things. People like me aren't supposed to have limitless freedom. It's bad for us. We abuse it.

Oh well.

He rocks on his feet before climbing up on the edge of the fountain and balancing there, hands out at his sides. Standing still is hard for him. He's not looking at the feed, which wavers as he holds it in one hand, but he knows it's recording and addresses the network.]

[This kid's been busy, it turns out. Very busy. It's Valentine's Day, as most everyone is in all likelihood well aware, and for the first few moments of the broadcast, they appear to be quite busy with something, tongue stuck between their teeth, brow furrowed with concentration.

Eventually they glance up, however, and hold up a simple heart cut out of red construction paper. They appear to have been in the process of drawing myriad swirls along the edges. They were going for something reminiscent of a lace pattern, but results are...inconclusive.]

If anyone needs valentines, I made... [A brief pause, and they duck out of sight, only to return with an armful of hearts of every color in the rainbow.] I, um, I have a lot extra.

[But that's just the first purpose of their broadcast. The second is something they've been hard at work on for some time. A combination of careful observation, idle speculation, and wheedling questions has yielded some interesting results, and it's about time those were documented.]

And there's something else, too.

[For a brief moment, they form a fingergun with their free hand, one maroon eye winking shut in a gesture that was, in all likelihood, meant to emerge as flirtatious but simply ends up comically overexaggerated. And then...then they upload the file.]

[The feed, when it clicks on, does not have highly auspicious beginnings. The lens is tilted skyward, granting everyone a lovely shot of the iron-gray sky. It's been raining. You can almost smell the peppery sting of petrichor, the clinging of the after-dew to blades of grass.

With the soft tick of someone's fingers fumbling over the microphone, the camera tips down until the visual is of a grassy field just outside the gardens. It's a spot Frisk commonly frequents, even as the weather grows colder.

Speaking of Frisk, they take their time adjusting the picture before they eventually enter the frame. They've got their overlarge jacket on and the cap of white wool perched on their head, and a familiar object in their hands. They settle down with their back to the camera, the slender tip of their ukulele peeking out by their shoulder, as they begin to play the instrument with slow, deliberate strums from their bandaged fingers.

Maybe you've heard the tune before.

When the impromptu performance is finished, Frisk turns their face to the camera. Their expression is as contained as always, but not, as it has been for a disproportionately long time, wholly devoid of emotion. Their eyes, when they flick them up to at last to regard the lens directly, are a dark and rusted red, perhaps a few shades darker than Chara's. They can't maintain the proverbial eye contact for long, and their eyes shutter to half-mast again.]

I've been acting kind of weird lately.

[Kind of weird. Between the way they tore through the world, mined all the numbers from the workings of the g̵̜͍ͦ̎̚͘á͉̄̇̂͠ͅm͏̨̨̬̖̋̚e̶̛̪ͤ᷅͂͝ they Played, the way they couldn't feel anything - Chara gone, and now the absence aches like a scab torn newly open, a limb newly cracked in two.

Sorry.

[A blanket apology, not nearly sufficient, and then a pause. It's not clear to where their gaze redirects itself, or if it does at all; their stare is flat, and difficult to perceive.]

The video opens focused on the face of a 26 year old, long dark hair, green eyes, and a heavy Sokovian accent when she speaks -- East European generally, but could also be mistaken for one that is vaguely Serbian, for those more familiar with that one as opposed to the Sokoivan accent.]

Models here are real vintage, though. The whole place is. I see what you're going for, and, I gotta say, I really hate it.

Tell me someone around here's not just lying back and taking it from Wonderland, [she says the name with appropriate disdain and mocking,] and there are actually people trying to break out. I don't think I can take another second of this place. "Hey! Free room and board as long as you stay forever and give up all your memories!" Right. Like I'm really gonna take that.

Jack out. [She does a little mock salute and switches off the feed.]

[If anyone notices any fallen, destroyed trees in a path through the forest, uh, guilty. A couple hours later, Jack can be found wandering around on the grounds trying to find where she destroyed the trees earlier. It's like she was never there at all.

[ Cannibals. There were cannibals. It was a whole thing. ]

So. Yeah. I set fire to your library, and I hurt a lot of people, and I'm sorry about that. There's, uh, too many to name here, and I don't know who most of y'all are anyway, but... [ He pauses, eyes flicking down to a scrap of paper in his hand. ] Miss...Evelyn. I'm sorry I ruined your library.

And...the guy I killed. Didn't catch your name, I'm afraid. As I understand it, death's not quite so permanent here. But I'll bet it still hurts like a bitch, and I'm sorry about that too.

[ For a moment, it seems like he's had his say. But then his expression changes a little, shoulders firming up a little and eyes going hard. ]

One more thing. This is all on me. You got an issue with me, that's fine. I understand. But anyone tryin' to take it out on Ellie, make her feel scared, makin' her upset...you'll regret that. Trust me on that one.

[ Well.

This is unfortunate.

If Henry could have never stepped foot on Neverland again, that would have been just fine. How does this place go from something awesome like Hogwarts to terrifying perma-dark terror island so easily? At least the knows this time, and after realizing some adults have gone completely haywire and turned into Lost Boys Ones, and some people haven't, he decides he has to address the people who are still logical and have devices. Technically speaking, this could be his mom's memories, but he's guessing waking up in Skull Rock A.K.A. The Place He Ripped Out His Heart That One Time means this is all on him. ]

So, we're in Neverland. From my memories.

I'm really sorry.

[ At least he had no control over this one. THIS IS NOT HIS FAULT. ]

You probably noticed some adults are now kids, like my age-ish. That's because now they're Wonderland's Neverland version of Lost Boys. It was just boys who felt unloved who turned into them before. [ Let's ignore that this means he momentarily turned into one. ] But I guess if people ever felt that way in their lives, now it means they're reverting back to kids. And they're violent. They don't care about anything. Peter Pan is evil, at least he is in this version. He was here, in Wonderland, a couple years ago. Maybe you remember him?

If you get hurt by any arrows or knives or prick your finger on a thorn, it's...that's bad. Dreamshade is a poison and just about anything that can be a weapon is laced with it. I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry.

[ He doesn't know about the magic healing water so people might have to go to Regina for that, or discover it on their own and the fact that once you drink the water and are healed, can't move very far away from it or you'll die. ]

Pan likes tricks, and so this place is full of them. You might...see people who aren't really here. If you can, stay in big groups and don't wander into the jungle alone.

[ He managed to poof himself out of Skull Rock and onto the beach so that the water is his background. What's that just behind his shoulder? A mermaid appears briefly, then ducks back under the waves. ]

Hopefully, this won't last as long as the last two events...

I've been thinking a lot recently...or, well. The thought just sort of came to me, as thoughts often do. But...it must be so hard to be here when you aren't from Wonderland, isn't it? It's fine for me of course, since I live here, but...you must be very lonely, right? Being so far from home, far from the people who love you...not that you aren't loved here, or at least I hope you are. What I mean is, it must be easy to feel lost here, especially for those of you who have been here a few years, or who are here by themselves.

[She sighs.]

I suppose all you can really do is band together...I wish there was more I could do for you. Oh, but I did find this in the attic! [She rummages around off-screen and produces an instrument.] That's what I'll do! I'll play you a song, and try to cheer you all up!

Oh m-my god, oh my god, we’re going to d-die here, I’m so s-sorry, I didn’t know they were all going to start...

Don’t worry! I happen to have excellent aim.

[All of a sudden, something takes a flying leap up onto the table, and Alphys yells as Ford shoots it down. The ensuing shot causes the device to fall over, revealing the floor is absolutely covered in knife wielding box tentacles, some with multiple arms, some with multiple knives, all running over each other and stabbing the floor, themselves, and the table. Alphys is still yelling. Ford is still shooting. It looks like an absolute catastrophe.]

Maybe we shouldn’t have prototyped them with the basic ability to learn--

Well it w-would have been fine if it was just, y-you know, one of them! They weren’t all supposed to turn on at the same time!

[Suddenly, Alphys turns her head and seems to notice the device, turning herself around and reaching out to grab it, bringing it in close to her and Ford.]

Uh, t-this is totally under control! No need to panic! I d-don’t, uhm, know how long this has been broadcasting, but, it’s f-fine! … And m-maybe don’t come to Ford’s room for, uhm, a little bit, for uh. Reasons.

Is that thing on? Uh, I mean-- Yes! Everything is absolutely, 100% under control. There is no need to worry about anythi-- [Ford cuts himself off and hisses.] Watch out, Alphys! I think it just tasted my blood!!

[There were days when Cami had been younger, more naive, that she might have liked to take a trip to Hogwarts. Of course, those days had been before vampires and witches and werewolves, much less Wonderland and all that world entails--and in its own way, that's fitting. During the event, she'd been a teenager again, one who'd seen her share of troubles but who also lived in an idealistic, carefree way, where her largest concerns revolved around her friends and her romance with a bad boy wizard who secretly had a heart of gold.

And then she wakes up.

It's hardly the first time she's gone through that morning after, when old memories reclaimed the place briefly stolen by fiction. As she opens her eyes and realizes she's alone, however, Cami sucks in a sharp gasp. That event, with all its innocence, has shown her something she knows she can never truly have. She's learned the truth about so many things, after all, since she'd first sat down to read the story of a boy wizard's magical journey. Vampires and werewolves and witches--and hybrids--are far more complicated than the world found within those pages.

She takes her time those first few days after the mansion restores itself. Cami gathers her composure and whispers into the silence of her room that it hadn't been his fault, because even when there are walls separating them she knows Klaus is listening. She reestablishes her routine because Cami has learned by now just how important that is for her when it comes to orienting herself after one of the more involved memory-altering events.

There is one part of her day missing, however. Even before Hogwarts, Cami has sent out a message to her regular patients that she's taking a vacation of sorts. She needs time for herself because more and more she's noticing the advice she gives, the effort she takes aren't having their intended effect. Something has shifted, because of the arrival of the Mikaelsons or simply due to her own tenure in Wonderland, or some combination of the two. Now, she sits in her office, tapping the table next to her phone, but doesn't turn the video on as she might on other occasions.

This isn't a broadcast she wants to make using her own face, or voice, or name.

Of course, at least one of those concerned would recognize her identity, despite the steps Cami takes to make it anonymous. She almost locks the post away from him, then opts not to, then changes her mind yet again. In some ways she knows it isn't fair to ask about this but not go to Klaus directly--yet that's exactly what makes her uncertain. Cami isn't blind, after all, nor unaware of the world she lives in back home. She might even be able to put some of the pieces herself together if she wanted to.

She doesn't want to.

In the end, she doesn't hide the text from anyone, although she doesn't claim it as her own either. She's not ready for that on such a public scale, even if she needs to ask the question. For all that she tries to do, Cami's never really been the first one to ask for help herself--not when it comes to her own problems.]

Do you ever think about the life you haven't lived yet?

One of the things about being in Wonderland is that your "time" doesn't continue while you're here. I think most of us know it and generally accept it. But other people from your same world can be pulled in, and for them, you've kept living. Your life has gone on, in ways you haven't experienced yet. They know your joys, your sorrows, your heartaches.

Meanwhile, for you, all those things are just part of the great "to be." Instead, you've been living here, in a world forgotten by everyone except those people within it. You might have made friends, maybe enemies. Maybe lovers. There's a chance you've found a job somewhere, or even started a service of your own, or picked up a dozen new hobbies. But however you fill it, the minutes and the hours and the days go by--and then it's months. Years. You have a life here. You're a different person.

And then someone shows up. Someone you're close to, that you care about. They're here, and you're so happy, that at first, you don't really see it. Or maybe you do, and you just pretend. But it's there, every time they look at you. Something strange in their eyes that you can't define. That you don't want to. Something that's part of that future you haven't lived through yet, that you haven't wanted to know because knowing means you carry the weight of it. Everything you learn here, you're burdened by, because you can't change it once we leave. Good, bad, whatever. It will be, and knowing about it, dissecting it, taking apart all the choices and the causes that made it happen?

Won't change a damn thing.

So what do you do? Because this person is here, and you want them to be. You want them to be in your life, but at the same time? If they look at you that way, even once more, you think it might really drive you mad. You want to fix it, whatever it is, but you can't. You want to know, but you don't. You suspect, but asking for the truth just makes it real.

Is it fair? To them, to you. Can any approach to this be considered "right?"

And what does it change about who you are now, in this place?

[Once it's done, Cami sits back in her chair, surveying the empty office. It isn't just the future she's concerned about, but identity itself. She would have been, even if Hogwarts hadn't brought the question into sharp relief, but it has--it's shown her just who she might be, what she might enjoy had she come from a different world. If Klaus had as well.

She knows she needs to decide just what to do about that complicated mess, but there's more to her life than just her relationships from home. For the better part of a year, she'd lived on her own in Wonderland, the sole representative of her version of New Orleans, or even that particular earth. She's not the same Camille O'Connell who arrived in the tunnels almost two years before (three counting the one she'd gone back home) because she's not untouchable. She's been so focused on trying to "help," other people, and now Cami thinks she understands why.

Because when Hogwarts first faded, her instinct had been to get on the network, and reopen her office with some speech about altered identity--because then she wouldn't have to think so hard about her own.

A few hours go by between her first transmission and the next. This time, however, she's on the video, a small smile on her lips that speaks more of apology than confidence.]

Hi, all. My name is Cami O'Connell, for those of you that don't know me, and I run the therapist office on the sixth floor.

[Now the hard part. She takes in a breath, and lets it out.]

I've been thinking a lot about how I've been living in Wonderland lately. I've wanted to believe I've held myself together with dignity most times--but that isn't true. I'm more than just my self-appointed purpose, and I think somewhere along the way, I forgot that. I wanted to be my profession so much, I pushed aside the rest of it. It's been a great way not to deal, but this is Wonderland, and I'm human. There's only so many times I can be hit before the cracks begin to show.

I've...died here. [She drops her gaze momentarily, although the pain of that has largely faded in the time since. She's never admitted it this way, this publicly.] I've seen people I care for die. I've seen others broken. I've felt the helplessness of realizing my mind has been toyed with. My relationships, my memories, my life--everything I am. And I guess through all of that, I thought if I could hold on to one thing, make that consistent, I could rise above it all. But when that becomes a singular goal, it's easy to forget the real reasons why I chose to be what I am--and why I was good at it.

[Why she can still be, if Cami gets her priorities straight. She huffs out a small laugh, her voice softening for a moment.]

Wow. It almost feels like I'm at confession.

Anyway. For those of you who've seen the less dignified version of me, I'm sorry. For those of you who have trusted me, thank you. And for those of you willing to accept a flawed, ordinary human as a therapist, I'm going to start keeping office hours again, starting now. Feel free to knock, or leave a message, and we can set up an appointment. Sixth floor, room twenty. I'm here to listen if people want someone to talk to.

That's all.

Hi, guys!

[Steven offers a grin. He's walking through the halls of the mansion, his smartphone held out before him. Every so often he stops and glances around him, but unless someone physically appears, the people on the network are much more interesting.]

I'm Steven Universe! I'm pretty new here. I mean, I'm really new; I just found this in my pocket, but I think I woke up about ten minutes ago? Uh-- I think I'm near the kitchen. I woke up there, anyway, and now I'm in a hallway! Who are you all? Where are you from? I saw a couple people are new here too, so we've already got some stuff in common! But you should tell me about yourself even if you're not new; I want to hear about all the different places people come from!

And-- there's a couple people I was wondering if you'd heard of. They're magical gems-- Pearl, Garnet, and Amethyst? They're aliens. Oh, but-- they're really great, though! Super friendly aliens, not like movies make aliens usually sound.

[OOC note: Feel free to run into Steven in the halls if you'd like!]

[The camera comes on to show a redheaded teen, tossing a small mock-salute to the camera. She's obviously pretty well-versed in video tech, and looks... pretty relaxed, all things considered.]

Alright, so roll call- who else showed up last week and now mysteriously isn't gone? Seen a couple people around to witness the, uh, whatever-the-heck happened, but I figured it wasn't just me.

Anyway, hey. Name's Wendy. 'Mm from a little backwoods town called Gravity Falls where nothing ever happens, ever. [The sarcasm is thick on this one. From what Dipper's told her- and how long he's been around- she's pretty sure EVERYONE here knows about their screwed-up hometown. She looks thoughtful for a second, and then decides to add one more thing.]

Oh, right, important question. Where's all the cool places to hang around here? This place is way too ornate and breakable. Unless we're allowed to break stuff, at which point, I totally retract my statement, and this place is awesome. Let me know.

[She gives a little wink to the camera, and disconnects.]

[Elizabeth's in her room, the ornate gilded age panelling behind her, glancing over nervously at the mirror on her dressing table.]

Has anything happened like this before, where it's become so easy to cross through the mirrors? I was wondering if there's any way to guard my room from the shades of ourselves on the other side from simply walking through into it, short of smashing all the glass in there.

[She shifts a little, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, her tone equal measures curious and sad now rather than her previous wariness.]

I was also wondering, with the influx of new people over the last few days, has anyone met with friends from their own world? I'd hoped my friend had come over here, but I haven't seen him at all. I wonder how people were selected for invitation to the parties? ...If anyone does see him, a man named Booker DeWitt, please let me know? Or anyone claiming to be from Columbia.

[ Philip sits at his desk. He briefly considers setting the scene, tidying up the stack of papers, or-- What's the point? It's his office. Nobody is going to see him. But all of Genosha is about to hear him.

He clears his throat.

And rolls his eyes at the private joke, because even like that it's getting old.

Due to the series of recent events I'm forced to remind all fellow mutants to travel carefully, especially near the Ridgeback Mountains region. Do not travel alone. Do not underestimate what their misguided rebellion is capable of. And remember to listen to Her Majesty's daily broadcast for further updates and information.

Long live the Queen.

[ Because he sure as bloody hell isn't going to bother reaching out like this again anytime soon. He doesn't add as much, though. Instead Philip presses a tissue to his nose, and catches the blood. Shuffles around some papers, and takes the opportunity to pause, anyway, because when his mind reaches across the island again the message plays a different tune: ]

To all homo sapiens: Our world does not need to be like this. Why try to anchor us in the past, when you could be part of our future? We are offering our help to you. If you would like to accept it, report to the science faculty at Magda University to participate in our Human Evolutionary Advancement Research Trials. Don't let the coming days be your end. Let them be a new beginning for all of us.

Never forget this: You have a chance to decide your own fate, before it gets decided for you.

[They went to check on Asriel, like they usually do - every since his little "accident," they've been sure not to leave him alone for too long. Only once they showed up, they found his room empty. Not a thread out of place.

For a long time, maybe an hour, maybe two, they simply sat there and hoped vaguely that he might return. But Room 23 is silent, and everything is empty. Just like before. Only this time, there was no warning at all, no gifts left under pillows. Maybe this time he didn't know it was going to happen.

Distantly, Frisk recognizes that they'll have to bring this up to everyone. Somehow. There are some people have to know. With trembling fingers, they withdraw their phone from their pocket and switch it on to video. About two minutes pass by of silence as the video pans about the empty room, until finally it focuses partially on Frisk. They aren't looking into the lens. They simply stare ahead, a faint frown knitting over their features as they talk.]

You're such a good person, Frisk. You're the friend I always wished I had.

But he didn't know me. He knew me for ten minutes. And then he shows up here, and thinks I'm good, good, good...

He said we were alike. He said I reminded him of them, but how's he say that and then turn around and say they're not good enough? He must've remembered everything I've done. He knew what I'd done. I did everything he did. I burned every book. I hurt everyone. I killed - everyone. Everyone I loved! How's that make me good? How's that -

[They keep talking, apparently frustrated, but it isn't long before the feed shuts itself off.]

If you would kindly, Wonderland, answer some questions, I would greatly appreciate your input.

1. Are you from a species that can dream?

2. Do you dream? How often?

3. What do you typically dream about?

4. Are your dreams lucid? Can you control what happens in them?

5. What's your favorite dream that you remember?

6. Tell me about any nightmares you've had.*

not here anymore
idk if anyone's looking for her but
i cant f ind he rr so
just sso everyoe knowsws

[there's a clunk as the device is set down and the video activates, seemingly unbeknownst to Alphys; the feed shows her stomach, then her hands, shaking to explain the typos, and then her back as she walks away from the device, sitting down on the nearby bed. She's not actively in frame- her tail can be seen from the corner- but it's pretty obvious she's crying, trying to keep it quiet but ultimately failing.

Eventually, the feed times out.]

[ooc: she'll respond to the network a little later, or she's available for action prompts at her room!]
