What's up, Wonderland? If you're new, I'm Ellie, and that's all the intro you get, 'cause it's not important.

[ Ahem! Without further ado, she stands aside to give everyone a sweeping view of an arcade game which is sitting in the middle of her room. ]

Ta-da! This is The Turning, AKA the coolest game of all time. I've had it here for a while, but I was waiting for the right time to do this, and I think this is the right time. Or something. Anyway, it's a kickass fighting game with boss fights and shit. And the best character ever: Angel Knives. Yes, that's her name, and she's awesome.

[ Okay, enough advertisement. ]

So, first off, I was wondering if someone could help me get this thing to the teen center... place. [ Because of a broken arm, which she is very strategically not showing on screen. ] Second, I'm gonna start planning a tournament for this, so you better practice up! Prize is TBD, but I promise it'll be awesome. I won't be playing since I've pretty much become a boss at this, but I'll moderate. And pick out the previously-mentioned awesome prize. So... yeah, once I get those details sorted out, I'll let you know. See ya!

[ Aaaand she's gone. ]

How often should I expect to not be myself?

( Yes, hello. Helena's hoping that she's doing this right -- it's the first time that she's sent a message to the network at large )

I know that we frequently expect events, but not every one would turn me into a creature or... something else.

( She also doesn't know what most of those things from the last event were. Where's Pete or Claudia when you need them? They'd have had some ideas, she expects )

For as unpredictable as all of this is surely there's a proportion, or some pattern -- how frequently you've become something else compared to how often you've remained yourself. I don't believe in that many coincidences.

Alright, so I’ve done all the reading, looked through the brochure. Really handy, by the way, more inter-dimensional kidnappings could use something like that. Nice to show up and have tourist info provided right off the bat.

[He’s doing his best to put a good face on this, he really is. Given his most recent inter-dimensional experiences, this is something of an improvement-- although all things considered, there’s nowhere he’d rather be right now than Earth, preferably with his team, although he supposes that last part is on him. He’d chosen to walk away, at least for a little while. Thanks to that decision, the first night here had been a little more difficult than it might have otherwise, but he's managing.

He’ll give Wonderland some credit. It beats solitary confinement in a parasite’s prison.]

That said, I’m not sure how I feel about a world without Wikipedia. How do you settle all the random debates that come up over breakfast without Wikipedia?

Teddy Altman, by the way. I hear I've been here before, but I don't remember any of it. Apologies in advance for that one.

We're gonna make sure people are staffing the youth center all day today. So feel free to stop by if you could use a little extra company. We can play some games, or eat way too much ice cream, or sit around and talk. It's your call.

I need maybe a person or two's help on something. But you HAVE to promise not tell my mom or aunt because it's a surprise.

I'm not really good at decorating, but basically, I need to know how to set up, like, a brunch? I looked up the types of food at brunch, and what to drink, but I'm not sure how to make it look special. Mother's Day is Sunday if my timing is right, so. Yeah.

Can someone help me get a space decorated by Saturday night?

Also, can someone teach me how to make French toast? I know I can just get it from the closet, but they deserve the effort. If it's terrible, then I'll go for backup.

[ Henry's had an idea for a network post for a while, he's just been trying to work out the specifics of it and what to include and what not to. The seeds of the idea were planted in Storybrooke when Wonderland was just a place his dead grandma used to lord over, but after going to space and being out of his element, he realized it's something that translates here, too. Maybe. If people actually need it. Maybe people adjust well enough on their own, but no harm in trying to help, right? ]

Hey, everyone. Back in my world, we recently got a lot of newcomers in town who don't really know what indoor plumbing is, or electricity or toothpaste, and I thought that maybe since there are people here from all over space and time a little FAQ would be good.

If you're from a world that isn't modern at all, and a lot of stuff like the toilet or shower or even these devices were new to you, what do you wish someone had told you about first? Just imagine someone's already given you the talk about how the mansion itself works with magic closets and murder mirrors and all the other stuff. Basic necessity wise, what's something you had no idea about and really like now? If I were making a list it would be: toilet paper, toothbrushes...actually probably all toiletries in general.

[ Any world is a better place with modern hygiene, okay? ]

Anyway, what about you? What's a good part of modern living that you'd miss when you left if you got to remember having it? When this is all done, I want to put together something people can just pick up, maybe in the entranceway. Because if a person doesn't even know what running water indoors is, what are the chances they know how to actually operate these devices?

Thanks in advance, everyone.

Hello Wonderland! This is Dr. Pines speaking.

Out of curiosity, how many of you have been to different dimensions, not counting this one? Alternate worlds? Other parallel planes of existence? Or... engaged in any form of time travel, for that matter. How did you do it? Was it even on purpose, or by some fluke?

I myself spent three decades adrift in the multiverse. Fascinating stuff.

Wonderland's worst feature are its events.

That's a pretty common thought, right? Only this place doesn't usually come up with events on its own. They're all just baggage it dredges up from our own worlds. When you look at it that way you could probably even make a case for Wonderland itself being pretty decent.

So here's a question: You've got the choice, go back to where you left off, or stay in Wonderland for good. Which one do you pick, and why?

{ library, night }

[ As darkness spreads and the moon rises, some of you might notice an unfamiliar figure knocking around in the library. It's gothic and jagged tonight, like a cathedral of books.

The person in question is a pale and somewhat careworn-looking man, in bare feet and a dapper nightshirt, with hair that's only barely under control. He's going along the bookcases, cautiously, patting them, cautiously. Now and then he'll mutter aha! and pull a book out, only to push it back in disgust when it doesn't activate the secret switch to make the bookcase roll away.

What, they don't build secret doors like that here? Poppycock.

He breezes past a mirror hung on the wall.

I am not blind, says a voice: a deep, slow voice that reaches his ears and no-one else's. I am not deaf.

Trust that, says another, trust me, you can trust that.

Grout hmms softly, a signal that he's taken... whatever that means on board. It could be literal. It could be metaphor. It could be gibberish. He runs his thumb over a spot on the wallpaper, making sure it's not the light of a spy-hole. He raps the mirror with his knuckles, just in case it's hiding a secret room or something behind it.

But the knocking doesn't sound hollow. He steps back, disappointed. ]

Drat, absolutely nothing.

{ kitchen, night }

[ He finds his way to the kitchen as well, and here it's harder to conduct a search while staying silent. In the dead of night, there's a certain amount of banging involved in opening cupboards and knocking on walls, no matter how careful you're being.

The mansion, he's realising, is huge. Whoever brought him here certainly has resources -- and who? the Anarchs? perhaps; there's a Toreador or two in their ranks who might be tickled by a political kidnapping. He grits his teeth, ducks down and checks inside the unlit fireplace; but there are no pull chains or hidden switches in sight. Not a hunter or the Sabbat; he'd be dead. Although that would explain why the hallways are lined with lit candles -- the Sabbat would be mad enough. A rival in the Camarilla? Several possible names come to mind.

I'm a trap without hinges, key, or lid. The voice is inaudible, but Grout hears it with pure clarity. He straightens up, dusts off his night-gown, and tugs on a wall lamp in case it's a hidden lever. (It's not.)

Yet inside, God forbid. Yet inside, God forbid.

It's good practice not to talk back to his little club of followers and hangers-on; they're secret for a reason. But he's nervous, frustrated, and it helps his concentration to think out loud. ]

A trap without any way in or out isn't a trap. That's absolute consummate nonsense! If I set out a box trap in a field and neglect to add hinge or door, it won't very well catch any rabbits, will it? Every trap has a lid, including this one. Utter nonsense.

[ The voice is obviously trying to tell him something, but what damned unnecessary riddling. No-one who wanted to send a clear message ever wrote poetry! ]

Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? They were in my stocking for Christmas. I guess they're an expensive pair of scissors or...shears? Fancy word.

[ He opens and closes them, turning them over in his hand. ]

So, any famous pairs of scissors in anyone's world out there? Maybe somehow our stories overlap if so.

Baby it's cold outside (Action for Leonard Snart) )

[Well. Now that Rip has had an introduction provided by Mr. Snart paired with the opportunity to change into dry clothes, he decides to get straight to business. Never mind that he's been assured that time does not move within this realm, that somehow this fictional-based fantasy world is even more separated from time than the Vanishing Point. Despite that safety net (which he has not yet bought into, for the record), Rip possesses no desire to linger within these walls. Luckily the outdated technology provided for communication is simple enough to figure out. He turns on the video feed, making little attempt to put on a pleasant face—but he does have a British accent, so his voice sounds nice?]

Yes, hello there. My name is Rip Hunter, a just newly arrived prisoner of this—this sadly real version of seventies-era drug-induced hallucination.

[He might be a little frustrated here.]

I've been given an overview the way this dimension functions from one of my comrades here, most relevantly the supposed fact that escape is impossible. I would like to confirm this with the population at large.

[More to the point, he wants to know who is working to defy that rule. Raymond can't have been the only scientific mind brought to this world. Whatever efforts are being made, Rip wants in. He simply won’t say as much over the network, in case it is being monitored. Just as he remains certain that someone is trying to escape, he is equally sure someone is responsible for their imprisonment, even if their identity remains yet unknown.

Of course, wisdom dictates he be prepared for anything, and he pauses but a moment before continuing.]

I suppose I should also ask about some of the other things I’ve been told. While I have no reason to disbelieve those present from my own universe [liars and thieves though two of them may be], some of the things they described go well beyond the limits of what should be possible—and trust me when I say that given my own background, that is a definite point of concern.

Has there been any data collected on these so-called “events?” Any success in discovering how this world and the people within it are altered, seemingly at random?

[Anything at all that might show a successful resistance to all Rip has been told—ah, but he stops himself before that much spills out. Probably better not to piss off the general population on his first broadcast. He’s already got a disgruntled crew to manage, after all.]

That should suffice for now. Thank you all, for both your time and your cooperation.

[Now please, give Rip the answers he wants to hear.

With that done, Rip makes a few adjustments to the broadcast settings. The feed has ended for the population at large, but two particular residents get their own special message.]

With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings (Video for Ray Palmer and Mick Rory) )

[With that, he ends the transmission, though his wait won't be idle. He has a sprawling landscape to explore now that he's no longer soaked from his earlier arrival. If he is to be stuck there for the duration, Rip intends to know all he can about this prison--which means in turn, he can be found almost anywhere over the course of the next few days.]

[ Well.

This is unfortunate.

If Henry could have never stepped foot on Neverland again, that would have been just fine. How does this place go from something awesome like Hogwarts to terrifying perma-dark terror island so easily? At least the knows this time, and after realizing some adults have gone completely haywire and turned into Lost Boys Ones, and some people haven't, he decides he has to address the people who are still logical and have devices. Technically speaking, this could be his mom's memories, but he's guessing waking up in Skull Rock A.K.A. The Place He Ripped Out His Heart That One Time means this is all on him. ]

So, we're in Neverland. From my memories.

I'm really sorry.

[ At least he had no control over this one. THIS IS NOT HIS FAULT. ]

You probably noticed some adults are now kids, like my age-ish. That's because now they're Wonderland's Neverland version of Lost Boys. It was just boys who felt unloved who turned into them before. [ Let's ignore that this means he momentarily turned into one. ] But I guess if people ever felt that way in their lives, now it means they're reverting back to kids. And they're violent. They don't care about anything. Peter Pan is evil, at least he is in this version. He was here, in Wonderland, a couple years ago. Maybe you remember him?

If you get hurt by any arrows or knives or prick your finger on a thorn, it's...that's bad. Dreamshade is a poison and just about anything that can be a weapon is laced with it. I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry.

[ He doesn't know about the magic healing water so people might have to go to Regina for that, or discover it on their own and the fact that once you drink the water and are healed, can't move very far away from it or you'll die. ]

Pan likes tricks, and so this place is full of them. You might...see people who aren't really here. If you can, stay in big groups and don't wander into the jungle alone.

[ He managed to poof himself out of Skull Rock and onto the beach so that the water is his background. What's that just behind his shoulder? A mermaid appears briefly, then ducks back under the waves. ]

ACTION, CLOSED TO PAPYRUS

He wakes up in Snowdin. )

VIDEO/ACTION [backdated to the twelfth, two days after Papyrus's post]

[It's Sans, and judging by the fact that he's sitting on a bare mattress, he seems to be in his room. He is conspicuously not wearing his hoodie--instead, he's wearing an oversized T-shirt with the words "World's Best Grandma" on it in neon letters. There's a hairline crack in his skull leading upward from his left eyesocket, but it's less than an inch long, small enough that it might be hard to notice. Other than that, everything seems normal. He's obviously tired, but when is he not tired?]

hey. so, i'm back from vacation. figured some people might want to know. was pretty nice. beaches, palm trees, margaritas. sailboats and stuff. just me on an island in the...

[He frowns and looks downward off camera, then seems to be trying to read something off paper.]

the...carrie...bean? carrie-bean. yeah, there. i'm guessing it's an ocean. actually, i didn't know oceans had names. looks nice, though. check it out.

[He holds up what appears to be some kind of vacation guide, flipped open to a page with some stereotypically gorgeous photographs of beaches and tropical fish and such.]

i dunno, this was just the first book i pulled outta the closets.

[He sets the book down and gives the camera a rather apologetic grin.]

heh, sorry, this bit is kinda nowhere.

[He pauses, glancing away off-camera.]

by the way, apropos of nothing, uh. who here doesn't know what happens when you drop mints into diet soda? cause i have an idea.

...uh, but if you already know, don't go popping anyone's bubbles. we could use some fun after all that, right?

[He grins again and cuts the feed.]

[ooc: Sans will be in his room for the foreseeable future if anyone wants to visit.]

under the cut: bruce/henry. post cut: network post. )

[Well, he’s going to be grounded for the rest of his natural life. Convenient that none of his family will fall under the curse because they’re all immune. After thinking about it, all he can do is address Wonderland en masse.]

Uh. Hi. So. You guys may have...noticed people falling asleep and some purple smoke?

[Deep breath.]

It’s called a sleeping curse. And it’s from my world. It’s not supposed to go through the air like this though. It’s like the curse from Sleeping Beauty or Snow White, if you have those in your world. Poison apple, prick of a spindle or a needle...

...The only way to wake someone up
[and BOY IS HE SORRY ABOUT THIS] is true love’s kiss. But that doesn’t have to mean a romantic person. It can be a spouse or significant other but it can also be a sibling, parent, best friend. If you love that person, it should work. Otherwise...they’re just asleep. That’s all.

[And he has no idea how to wake them up.]

I think since we are in Wonderland and it only likes things to be temporary, the whole thing will end in at most a couple days. And if not I’ll work with everyone I can here to make it better. I’m...I’m really sorry? I was just trying to show one person how magic and science work together.

[Bruce chimes in with some more practical suggestions, not ignoring Henry’s apology but not addressing it yet either.]

If you find anyone lying around in strange and random places, it might be for the best to get them somewhere safe. Either their own bedroom, or we can make use of one of the empty rooms here for everyone. It might be better to have someplace where it’s easier to keep an eye on everyone, especially if it takes any longer than a day or two for this to pass.

In the meantime, I’ll be looking into a way to fix this.
[A way that’s not a kiss, anyway.] Any scientists and magic users are more than welcome. We could use the help, I think.

[ooc: feel free to have people react to either Bruce or Henry on the network post, action tag them in the lab, and of course, use this post as gathering for all your rping needs! The lab portion with Bruce and Henry was not broadcast to the mansion. You're more than welcome to create your own posts. For more info on this plot, including the duration, see this post. blue - henry, green - bruce.]

I don't suppose anyone's given any more thought to what happened before we were all forced to trick or treat.

[No, not the gravity thing. Zelena doesn't care about that aside from being annoyed that it happened to begin with.]

Unless you've all managed to deal with it quietly, but I've been here long enough to know that when something big happens, it's far from quiet. So then, the way I see it, either you're all still looking for that supposed spy and made absolutely no progress.

[She's sticking to voice, but the amusement in her tone probably makes it clear that she finds that hilarious.]

Or you've simply given up, and decided to ignore it. Can't say that would surprise me either, though it's a bit disappointing. Here I was hoping you'd all provide some sort of entertainment by accusing and turning on each other. But no, I suppose that's really just too much to ask, isn't it?

[He's going to regret this. He already knows he's going to regret this. But he has questions, and he's not exactly sure who to go to. Not his moms, not...anyone who would tell his moms, probably? He's going to regret this.]

So. Hi, Wonderland. Good afternoon.

[Facepalm.]

I just...I had a question. So. Here it goes. My question.

How do you
I mean, when you want to know what or how, or
I mean

[Stop saying 'I mean,' Henry.]

Girls. Girls and the things that make them girls.
When do you get to see those things?

[Oh, man. He's going to have a panic attack over girls and boobs.]

I'm not trying to. I mean I just. How does anyone ever get to see them if you're also trying to be respectful?

[This is all Kenzi's fault.]
