[ Clementine and Mae appear on the screen. It’s a little girl and a cat girl. They’re standing in a room on the first floor. Clem has a crowbar in her hand, slung over her shoulder. Mae has her trusty baseball bat and a very cat-that-got-the-canary grin on her face.]

Hey, so… Mae told me about how she breaks shit sometimes and how it’s… cathartic? [ that’s the word she used, right? ] And I tried it with a light bulb. It felt pretty damn awesome so we thought it might be cool to have an official place where people could break stuff whenever they needed to deal with bullshit.

[Mae immediately picks up the thread, grinning wide.]

So we are super effing pleased to introduce…The Destruction Room.

[She pans the camera over to the sign on the door. It’s generic and straight to the point. Then she pans the camera around to take in the room. There’s rows of shelves filled with china plates, vases, glass figurines and other fragile-looking items. Along the walls are dozens of light fixtures and free-standing lamps, as well as just a metric ton of lightbulbs, both fluorescent and incandescent. All of it is very precariously displayed and it looks like it wouldn’t take much to just knock some of these shelves right over.]

Isn’t it amazing? We stocked it with everything that could possibly go smash.

[Clementine gestures then to have Mae pan the camera toward the wall on the side which has a giant weapon rack with every blunt weapon imaginable from bats to maces to hammers and more. ]

Over on this wall, we’ve got every blunt weapon you can think of so you can really make the breakables crack into a hundred awesome pieces. Also, it’s on the first floor, room 4 so if you hit yourself in the foot or get glass stuck in your arm or something, the clinic’s right next door.

Yeah, we pretty much thought of everything. Because we’re awesome.

[Mae holds out her hand to Clementine for a high-five. Clementine leans over, high fiving her back, with a smile. Totally awesome. ]

Anyway, yeah, come on down and get your smash on. Work out some of that pre-event anxiety or whatever.

[The Unknown isn’t exactly a normal place, so Beatrice isn’t a stranger to the… well, strange. However, she isn’t exactly a fan of new things. She likes to know everything that’s going on around her and she likes to know that she is in control of absolutely anything and everything. So, when she awoke to find herself in a strange oak tree in a strange forest facing a spooky mansion, she wasn’t exactly thrilled.

She flew erratically for a few minutes, screaming for help at the top of her lungs, before she started to calm herself down and really think. Where is she? Where is Wirt? She had “run” into him just moments ago (at least, flown into him). He’s gotten into the habit of leaving at the most inopportune times, she really needs to talk to him about that when she finds him.

Well, it’s more likely that she’ll find help in the creepy mansion than in the creepy (and also abandoned) forest. She flies to the door and realizes she can’t realistically lift a knocker (sometimes lacking arms and weighing only an ounce is really inconvenient), then starts frantically pecking at windows. Someone has to be around in this gigantic and creepy mansion, right? Hopefully they aren’t some weird people who eat bluebirds or… something else like that.

Wow, what Beatrice wouldn’t give for arms right now. She’s flying around, pecking randomly at windows and flapping her wings so hard she could create a small whirlwind. Finally, she finds an open window on the third floor and makes herself at home. She’s flying around the room, taking it all in, when the wall unit turns on all by itself. It manages to record her talking to herself like a madwomanbird.]

Okay, Beatrice, you can handle this. You’re just stuck in a creepy mansion in the middle of a completely unfamiliar forest where there is no escape. You’re probably going to die, but whatever, it’s not like life is that great anyway, death can’t be much worse. Oh well. That’s it, you’re going to die here, completely alone and hated by everyone who loves you. I’m sure when someone eventually DOES open that door, they will be some sort of deranged killer and they’ll try and bake you into a pie or something. Would bluebirds even taste good? WHY ARE YOU THINKING THIS NOW? I guess I could claw at their eyes?

[Wirt doesn't look good.

He's pale, and he's having a little trouble holding the camera steady. Too beat to stand, he's sitting on the floor leaning against the wall. Thinking is hard and he doesn't want to send out this message at all, but he doesn't have a choice in the matter.
]

I...I need someone to do me a favor.

[It takes him a moment to summon up the nerve to keep going. He uses his free hand to pull his cape tighter around him.]

I need someone to look after my brother Greg. He's only six and I-I'm not-- I'm not good in a fight and I can't really protect anyone. [His voice hitches, his nerves failing him for moment.] I-I can't even protect myself, how can I--

[He can't do this. He pokes his arm out from under his cape and knots his fingers in his hair. The famous cone hat falls off. It takes him a second to collect himself again.]

I-I just. I need someone to come look after Greg, and I need someone to not-- n-not tell me I'm an idiot or dumb whatever for this because like I know that already and it doesn't change anything, so can someone please do that? Please? Please, I...I-I need...

[He shuts his eyes tight and rubs at them. This message is too hard to do without being that guy who cries on the network and he doesn't want to go down with that kind of reputation.]

...I-I need someone to look after him. I...I'm going to go once someone says they'll come. I don't want to leave him alone, but I c-- I. I...need to. Soon. ...Thank you.

[He rattles off their current address quickly and when he pulls the camera closer to shut it off, for a second viewers can see that his other arm is heavily bandaged and blood-stained. It's been hurting him, but he wasn't sure if anyone would come if they could see it, so he's been trying really to keep it out of frame.]

Alright, so I’ve done all the reading, looked through the brochure. Really handy, by the way, more inter-dimensional kidnappings could use something like that. Nice to show up and have tourist info provided right off the bat.

[He’s doing his best to put a good face on this, he really is. Given his most recent inter-dimensional experiences, this is something of an improvement-- although all things considered, there’s nowhere he’d rather be right now than Earth, preferably with his team, although he supposes that last part is on him. He’d chosen to walk away, at least for a little while. Thanks to that decision, the first night here had been a little more difficult than it might have otherwise, but he's managing.

He’ll give Wonderland some credit. It beats solitary confinement in a parasite’s prison.]

That said, I’m not sure how I feel about a world without Wikipedia. How do you settle all the random debates that come up over breakfast without Wikipedia?

I have a question of a somewhat philosophical nature, if anyone feels they might indulge me.

[There is a reason he chooses to use an audio only medium for this. While Regis is ordinarily very gregarious, there are certain topics in which it is best that others do not see his reaction to what they say.]

What do you believe makes someone - or something - a monster? It may be a simple answer, or perhaps not so simple. I lean towards the latter.

[Lapis isn't the kind of person who immediately responds to being trapped in a strange place by posting to its social media. Right now she's had time to acquaint herself with the situation, i.e. freak out, i.e. find a couple helpful pamphlets, poke her head inside the mansion, and then spend some time trying very hard to leave. This is just as well since everyone's already had enough of drowning for a while.

It's only after she's exhausted herself that her attention wanders to the little device waiting patiently for her, as if it knew she'd have to give up. It'd probably look smug if it could. Just in case it might actually be worthwhile somehow she even scans the recent posts, but of course there are no answers she would want. So that's what she's supposed to do, huh? Sit tight, make herself at home, and join in the hopeless little community of fellow prisoners? Lapis almost chucks the thing off the roof; she doesn't want Wonderland's garbage. And yet, here it is.

...Not that much of that matters to the audience. In text, after all, nobody can tell how much lid someone's flipping.]

I know it's too much to hope for, but you're absolutely sure this isn't some kind of personal nightmare I'm having?
It'd be a first considering I don't sleep, but the mirror thing is pretty suspect.

But slowly, he remembers. He was going to the next room and he was supposed to...tell Wirt he got there, right? Oh no. Wirt's gonna be mad he fell asleep. He better send his message fast.

When Greg peers into the screen, his face is flushed and he's lost his teapot, but he otherwise looks okay. He takes a deep breath, then:]

I hope I didn't break it...what even happens when you break these things anyway?

[He doesn't seem to realize that the camera has been turned on, and isn't paying attention to the little red recording light. Instead, he sets his book aside in a tall stack - a stack that fell right on the network device earlier. Satisfied that it won't fall again, Wirt turns his attention back to his notebook. He reads his work quietly, but just loud enough to be picked up by his network device.]

dwell on what I am

I am a raging river
waiting for the world to freeze again--

[Maybe no one is ready to rally up and take arms against the Authority of this dimension just yet, but for as little time as he has been in Wonderland, Bill can’t say his plans are off to a terrible start. Despite the last few uh…. Hiccups he’s had with the Pines family and their entourage, his mission to spread doubt about the Queen and display himself as the stronger entity was going fairly strong. Having a few followers and deals isn’t enough, though. He has to make good on his word. To be the better deity, you have to show why you’re better. And Bill believes he knows just how.

Residents of Wonderland will wake up to find this text on their screens; though only words, the script itself seems to have a life of its own, fizzling, glitching and popping all over is the phrase:

[There were days when Cami had been younger, more naive, that she might have liked to take a trip to Hogwarts. Of course, those days had been before vampires and witches and werewolves, much less Wonderland and all that world entails--and in its own way, that's fitting. During the event, she'd been a teenager again, one who'd seen her share of troubles but who also lived in an idealistic, carefree way, where her largest concerns revolved around her friends and her romance with a bad boy wizard who secretly had a heart of gold.

And then she wakes up.

It's hardly the first time she's gone through that morning after, when old memories reclaimed the place briefly stolen by fiction. As she opens her eyes and realizes she's alone, however, Cami sucks in a sharp gasp. That event, with all its innocence, has shown her something she knows she can never truly have. She's learned the truth about so many things, after all, since she'd first sat down to read the story of a boy wizard's magical journey. Vampires and werewolves and witches--and hybrids--are far more complicated than the world found within those pages.

She takes her time those first few days after the mansion restores itself. Cami gathers her composure and whispers into the silence of her room that it hadn't been his fault, because even when there are walls separating them she knows Klaus is listening. She reestablishes her routine because Cami has learned by now just how important that is for her when it comes to orienting herself after one of the more involved memory-altering events.

There is one part of her day missing, however. Even before Hogwarts, Cami has sent out a message to her regular patients that she's taking a vacation of sorts. She needs time for herself because more and more she's noticing the advice she gives, the effort she takes aren't having their intended effect. Something has shifted, because of the arrival of the Mikaelsons or simply due to her own tenure in Wonderland, or some combination of the two. Now, she sits in her office, tapping the table next to her phone, but doesn't turn the video on as she might on other occasions.

This isn't a broadcast she wants to make using her own face, or voice, or name.

Of course, at least one of those concerned would recognize her identity, despite the steps Cami takes to make it anonymous. She almost locks the post away from him, then opts not to, then changes her mind yet again. In some ways she knows it isn't fair to ask about this but not go to Klaus directly--yet that's exactly what makes her uncertain. Cami isn't blind, after all, nor unaware of the world she lives in back home. She might even be able to put some of the pieces herself together if she wanted to.

She doesn't want to.

In the end, she doesn't hide the text from anyone, although she doesn't claim it as her own either. She's not ready for that on such a public scale, even if she needs to ask the question. For all that she tries to do, Cami's never really been the first one to ask for help herself--not when it comes to her own problems.]

[[Anonymous Text Post]]

Do you ever think about the life you haven't lived yet?

One of the things about being in Wonderland is that your "time" doesn't continue while you're here. I think most of us know it and generally accept it. But other people from your same world can be pulled in, and for them, you've kept living. Your life has gone on, in ways you haven't experienced yet. They know your joys, your sorrows, your heartaches.

Meanwhile, for you, all those things are just part of the great "to be." Instead, you've been living here, in a world forgotten by everyone except those people within it. You might have made friends, maybe enemies. Maybe lovers. There's a chance you've found a job somewhere, or even started a service of your own, or picked up a dozen new hobbies. But however you fill it, the minutes and the hours and the days go by--and then it's months. Years. You have a life here. You're a different person.

And then someone shows up. Someone you're close to, that you care about. They're here, and you're so happy, that at first, you don't really see it. Or maybe you do, and you just pretend. But it's there, every time they look at you. Something strange in their eyes that you can't define. That you don't want to. Something that's part of that future you haven't lived through yet, that you haven't wanted to know because knowing means you carry the weight of it. Everything you learn here, you're burdened by, because you can't change it once we leave. Good, bad, whatever. It will be, and knowing about it, dissecting it, taking apart all the choices and the causes that made it happen?

Won't change a damn thing.

So what do you do? Because this person is here, and you want them to be. You want them to be in your life, but at the same time? If they look at you that way, even once more, you think it might really drive you mad. You want to fix it, whatever it is, but you can't. You want to know, but you don't. You suspect, but asking for the truth just makes it real.

Is it fair? To them, to you. Can any approach to this be considered "right?"

And what does it change about who you are now, in this place?

[[End of Anonymous Text Post.]]

[Once it's done, Cami sits back in her chair, surveying the empty office. It isn't just the future she's concerned about, but identity itself. She would have been, even if Hogwarts hadn't brought the question into sharp relief, but it has--it's shown her just who she might be, what she might enjoy had she come from a different world. If Klaus had as well.

She knows she needs to decide just what to do about that complicated mess, but there's more to her life than just her relationships from home. For the better part of a year, she'd lived on her own in Wonderland, the sole representative of her version of New Orleans, or even that particular earth. She's not the same Camille O'Connell who arrived in the tunnels almost two years before (three counting the one she'd gone back home) because she's not untouchable. She's been so focused on trying to "help," other people, and now Cami thinks she understands why.

Because when Hogwarts first faded, her instinct had been to get on the network, and reopen her office with some speech about altered identity--because then she wouldn't have to think so hard about her own.

A few hours go by between her first transmission and the next. This time, however, she's on the video, a small smile on her lips that speaks more of apology than confidence.]

Hi, all. My name is Cami O'Connell, for those of you that don't know me, and I run the therapist office on the sixth floor.

[Now the hard part. She takes in a breath, and lets it out.]

I've been thinking a lot about how I've been living in Wonderland lately. I've wanted to believe I've held myself together with dignity most times--but that isn't true. I'm more than just my self-appointed purpose, and I think somewhere along the way, I forgot that. I wanted to be my profession so much, I pushed aside the rest of it. It's been a great way not to deal, but this is Wonderland, and I'm human. There's only so many times I can be hit before the cracks begin to show.

I've...died here. [She drops her gaze momentarily, although the pain of that has largely faded in the time since. She's never admitted it this way, this publicly.] I've seen people I care for die. I've seen others broken. I've felt the helplessness of realizing my mind has been toyed with. My relationships, my memories, my life--everything I am. And I guess through all of that, I thought if I could hold on to one thing, make that consistent, I could rise above it all. But when that becomes a singular goal, it's easy to forget the real reasons why I chose to be what I am--and why I was good at it.

[Why she can still be, if Cami gets her priorities straight. She huffs out a small laugh, her voice softening for a moment.]

Wow. It almost feels like I'm at confession.

Anyway. For those of you who've seen the less dignified version of me, I'm sorry. For those of you who have trusted me, thank you. And for those of you willing to accept a flawed, ordinary human as a therapist, I'm going to start keeping office hours again, starting now. Feel free to knock, or leave a message, and we can set up an appointment. Sixth floor, room twenty. I'm here to listen if people want someone to talk to.

That's all.

[ Even though he's been in Wonderland for nearly two months at this point, this is the first time Will has made a post on the network, and only about the fourth time he's used his device at all. He's not a terrifically outgoing person, and it's easy for him to assume that people are probably better off without his input in most cases.

However, the network is clearly a good way to get answers and information, and ever since his conversation with Bedelia... He's been thinking a lot about "home". Been wondering if there are any people here in similar circumstances. It's been on his mind enough that eventually, he settles on simply straight-up asking people, if only to shut the train of thought down and put an end to the curiosity. And, perhaps, put himself a bit at ease. If that's even a possibility.

The question isn't posed through video, or even audio. This is more easily handled through text. And, it...makes the whole thing slightly less awkward, which doesn't hurt. ]

So there's really no internet. I mean, someone already mentioned the "no internet" thing a while ago, but I just figured it was really bad wifi or something. There's seriously no internet? Soooooo. How many bunnies are there around here? I thought I saw a bunch in the gardens, and they were really cute—[Wait. That wasn't what she wanted to talk about, but even if she wanted to talk to people, she was still nervous. She refused to drop her impressively huge smile, though. Everything was going to be fine.]—Wait, that wasn't what I wanted to say.

[She pauses for a quick second before continuing, thinking her words over carefully.]

Anyway, hi! My name is Riley. I'm kind of new here and I wasn't really expecting to be somewhere not high school or New York, so if anyone could help me I'd really like that.

[What she says comes out in a bit of a rush, though not so fast she can't be understood. Probably. She laughs a little.]

Everything here looks really nice, though!! I think I just went—[She holds her arms wide open for everyone to see, before shouting:]—YAY!!! when I saw some of the things here.

Hi everyone!

[Dipper's not wearing his usual outfit. He's wearing a white shirt with suspenders as he sits at his desk, his usual blue pine tree hat hanging off the chair. Behind him, Mabel can be seen bustling around, covered in scraps of cloth and glue and glitter.]

So, looks like another event from our world. One that has absolutely nothing to do with gravity turning off, weird. Almost like that was entirely unrelated to this event.

[He scowls very pointedly YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE PEOPLE HE'S SCOWLING AT.]

Anyway, this... well... okay, so in Gravity Falls, they like Halloween so much that they celebrate it again when summer comes and call it Summerween. Judging from the jack-o-melons hanging around, the fact that it's late June, and the fact that literally no other town would have something as ridiculous as Summerween, I'm calling it. This one's ours.

[Mabel tosses a piece of blue cloth at Dipper's head, which he fastens around his shoulders like a cape. She vanishes out of the camera's field of vision.]

The good news? Halloween's just as fun in the summer. The bad news? Last Summerween a monster called the Summerween Trickster tried to eat us and our friends because we [mostly just Dipper] lacked the "Summerween Spirit." [He rolls his eyes, making finger quotes.] I don't know if that's gonna happen here, but let's face it, it's Wonderland, so I'd get a costume just in case. And hey? Free candy. Not such a bad thing.

[Mabel comes back, wearing green suspenders. She hands Dipper a pointy red hat and lifts a silver teapot over her head. Together, they lower the hats onto their heads and fistbump, costumes complete. Summerween is about what really matters, after all: pure evil.]

So hey, I guess we're trick-or-treating? We'll see you out there. Try and have fun! Since you know, you might die otherwise.

[He cuts the feed, though he and Mabel will both be responding to any confused questions. Throughout the rest of the event, they'll be mostly sticking together, trick-or-treating with each other or with any friends they catch up with, especially once their trick-or-treat-or-die theories are confirmed. There is nothing cuter than twins in costumes, and they're experienced trick-or-treaters, so they're gonna hit every door. Might be they'll even come to yours!]

[Being here is impossible. Simply being is impossible. The large, alien woman had given up her physical form to allow her son to inherit her gemstone, the source of her very essence and abilities. There's no explanation for her returning to herself, just as there's no explanation for her appearance in his Earthly -yet unearthly- place. The last thing Rose remembers is the birth, followed by simple and otherwise indescribable nothingness. Time passed, but she can only recognize that now that she's herself once more. Yet...the thought of her son weighs heavy on her mind, taking precedence over any concern she should be feeling for herself. Was he born safely? If she's here with her gemstone, was he still born half-Gem? She knows he would have been born regardless, but that doesn't ease her mind entirely. Human infants are so frail...

However, Rose Quartz knows she can't dwell on what-ifs and personal, anxious conjecture. That won't solve anything, but gathering her bearings and facts will. Small communication device in hand, she steps into the foyer of the imposing mansion, all eight feet of her (plus massive hair) making her equally imposing in her own right. She doesn't know who lives here, but if no one responds to her impeding attempt at communication, she can hopefully catch residents coming and going from the building. It's a simplistic strategy, but it's all she has until she knows more.

Without further pause, she places an all-call. Despite the warm, bell-like quality to her voice, there's a distinct unease and uncertainly based below the practiced calmness.]

This is Rose Quartz, calling all who are able.

I'd like to ask about this place, if anyone has a moment. I'm not supposed to be here. I'm... not supposed to be anywhere. So any explanations of what this place is and how it's able to do something so impossible would be greatly appreciated.

I'd also like to ask if anyone has met anyone by the name of Pearl, Amethyst, Garnet, Greg, or... by any possible chance, a boy name Steven from Beach city.

That is all. Thank you.

Rose Quartz out.

[The feed opens up with with an extremely pale young woman. The most prominent feature on her being the large pearl in her forehead. It's not just on her forehead. It's literally in it. Obviously, Pearl is always oblivious to how strange she may look to those unfamiliar to Gems.

She clears her throat, smoothing out her top, to make herself more presentable before she addresses the feed.]

Hello and greetings to... whoever may be receiving this.

[She curls some pink hair from her cheek and steadies her view on the feed.]

My name is Pearl, and I'm in search of my friends. One of them is tall with two gems in her hands, one with purple skin and a gem in her chest, and the last one is a young boy named Steven. He usually wears a red shirt with a bright yellow star on it.

[Her gem glows softly, and images are produced from it. Holograms. Simplified and rigid images, but they gets the message across pretty well.

Her hands fidget as she looks around her new 'room' and the images fizzle out from view, her gemstone dimming. She shifts her weight on the bed, pursing her lips.]

We were on a very important mission, and if they were transported here as well, I'd like to regroup with them and make sure they're alright.

[Pale blue eyes look at the feed worriedly, but she fights to tug out a small smile on her lips.]

Thank you for your time.

[The screen boots up, blipping out of focus ever so slightly, as the happy titles for a DRAWING TUTORIAL make their way onto, and occasionally fizzle off, the display. Distantly, this 'tune' can be heard in the background, distorting the music with its impossible, never heightening decibels.]

[All at once, the screen flashes with an obscenely bright light, aiming to seer the videos completed after image into the watchers retinas. After all, it's much easier for Bill to enter the minds of people, when they already have his image imprinted somewhere in their brains! The static emits one more alarmingly loud hiss before the picture dissipates entirely.]

Huh? Well! You're not Captain Greenbeard!

[Greg's face looms large in the frame as he stares at the device, squinting a little.]

A calculator? Aw, man. Am I doing taxes?

[His mom and dad always use a calculator for taxes. Theirs looks a little different though. It doesn't have letters on it!]

Hmmmm. How do I--

Eureka! Twenty five bajillion!

[He's gotta show Wirt all the taxes he did! Uhhh.]

Wirt?

Oh no. That brother o' mine. Where could he have gotten to this time?

[After months of attempted planning (most of which was frequently cast to the wayside in favour of dealing with whatever fresh Hell decided to make itself known to them all) Evelyn has come to the conclusion that there will never be a "Good Time," and has therefore decided that with that being the case, it is simply easier to set what she likes, when she likes.

This is all a very runabout way of saying that Evelyn has politely asked the Mansion - which, as we all now know, is practically sentient - to deliver the following invitation to everyone's door:
]

[Intangible* attachments have also been forwarded to each resident, supplemented by the following transmission:]

I'm holding a fête this Friday evening - there isn't a particular time for required attendance, it should be ongoing for several hours after dinner - and I should like as many parties as available to come. It is themed, as there are a number of us here from time periods before 1950, so appropriate attire is encouraged, but not mandated.

[This is in part due to a withering homesickness that Wonderland itself has been unable to satisfy.]

Kindly respond if you do plan to join, and I hope to see you all on Friday.

[Beatrice is sitting in her room, looking skeptical. She glances out the window.]

Are people actually stupid enough to go into the strange caves that appeared?

[Of course they are. Never underestimate how stupid people can be.]

I mean, it's an actual avoidable event. What could possibly be compelling enough about them to actually go down there? You can literally get anything from the closets. Treasure can't be that compelling.

Stanford Pines here. It has been brought to my attention that according to my timeline, I am really missing out on thirty years' worth of Earth's culture and media. I left my dimension in 1982 and returned in 2012.

So. What have I missed? Anyone have any recommendations? I'll even take something from another time period or planet if you think it's good.

[Sans seems to be sitting against a tree somewhere. There's angry growling coming from the vicinity of his coat.]

so, you know, i consider myself a pretty fun-guy, but this is kinda crazy.

[This might not be the best time for puns. The growling in his coat seems to agree.]

...anyway, uh. where is everyone? if you're from the underground, check in? hell, even if you're not from the underground, check--crap--

[There's a groaning moaning sound from nearby and it's very rapidly getting closer. Sans gets to his feet and the camera swings around to show a runner about ten yards away and charging at Sans.]

ah crap hold on--

[The camera turns toward deeper in the trees and then--

[--the video seems to cut out, the screen filling with glitching static.]

[A moment later it's back. It's still the forest, and it being a forest, it's hard to tell that the location has changed much. But there's nothing groaning anymore. Just the sound of angry hissing from Sans's coat.]

[Sans lets out a breath.]

uh. anyway. just. wanna make sure everyone else is okay. i, uh. i haven't seen anyone yet, at least no one...yanno. alive.

papyrus and everyone else, let me know where you are.
