[There's a face very, very, very close to the screen. Not a shock, given he's basically sitting on the device with wide eyes and a mouth hanging open a little in awe. It makes strange noises sometimes and he's not sure what it is but he will work it out. He's smarter than he looks, he'll have you know. He's a smart cookie. The smartest of cookies even because cookies are remarkably dumb. They don't even put up a fight when he eats them so they're clearly inferior to the all mighty Groot.

He leans forward slowly. He licks it. Ew. Nope. Not food. Hmm.

Okay, back to square one.

It's not doing much but be kind of reflective, it's probably not a weapon and--

Oh! He can see his face!!!

He pulls funny faces into it happily, delighted with how he can see himself and somehow not paying attention to anything else in the screen but himself.]

[First things first. Get a feel for your fellow captives. See where their loyalties lie. Who is still looking to escape and who is possibly developing Stockholm syndrome.

Normally the tactic would be to silently observe and gather intel, but this is where social media comes in handy.

A small teenager appears on screen with a green mask and a black hood. He speaks with a no nonsense tone.]

My name is Robin and I’m going to cut to the point. I’m looking for information. Namely on all of you, but we'll start with just two questions today. Mostly to check both your own mental well being and conditions.

Who here has pertinent information as to our captors identities and whereabouts?

Have any among you started to feel stirrings of affection for them?

If your answer is yes to the second than there is no helping you and you should feel ashamed. The rest, I will have more questions for after I've done more recon.

[With that the video abruptly ends.]

[A teenager with long, reddish hair and amber-colored eyes considers the camera, adjusting a few note-cards he made as he thought things through]

Hi, everyone. Wonderlanders or whatever you call yourselves, Obviously this is my first time doing this kind of thing. Hell, the last time I was talking to a camera, it was to record my own eulogy after I’d been shot.

In the knee, it wasn’t really that serious or anything. But that kind of thing does make you wonder. Maybe this is the place for that. Wondering.

[A small, awkward chuckle.]

I’m just hoping someone out there sees this, and can lend the poor noob a hand. Because, prison or nexus dimension or whatever, this place sure seems strange, even by my standards. And, um, yeah, I spent my childhood in a VR chamber because I wasn’t able to interact with the rest of the world very well.

Oh, oops, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Bart. Bart Allen. It’s short for Bartholomew, and I wanted to be different. It’s not the worst nickname in the world. I have a friend who has to go by ‘Gates’ because his name’s pretty much impossible to pronounce without insectoid mandibles.

Right, here's the thing - I need a nerd. A geek. A smart guy. Or girl, whatever. I ain't overly picky.

[He shrugs his shoulders, casual as anything, taking a long sip of his beer. Sara may have told him this was not the best method to catch himself a genius but given the chance of there being some hanging around this joint, he thinks it's the perfect way. When in doubt, post an ad.]

This guy I know got brainwashed into being the king of dicks and I'm getting kind of sick of his shit so I need someone who'd be able to do some sci-fi sciencey stuff on his head. I have a vague idea how to do it but I just can't remember the details. [He's pretty much forgotten how they originally did it back home but he can unhelpfully offer vague information and a beer while you work. A+ service.]

All the 'smart' ones I know are annoyingly the biggest idiots around, I'm looking for someone less inclined to be stupid as hell. Help me out and maybe I'll help you out. Though my skills are limited to burning and breaking stuff.

[At least he knows his strengths? If you want a bonfire, ka-ching.]

I know a good looking chick if that sweetens the deal. Ain't saying she's gonna touch you but you can admire from afar. Really far. I also know some easy dudes if that's your thing. [Hey, whatever fixes this mess.]

All right, listen up. [ sara’s voice isn’t particularly commanding, but it’s firm despite the hint of levity. the latter is forced more than felt, but hopefully no one will be able to call her out on it. she's been here for a few hours now and she's still fuzzy on a lot of things. ] You probably get newbies asking for answers all the time, but I just got here, so someone mind filling me in? What is this place, how did I get here, and how do I get back to where I was? I was kinda in the middle of something.

[The video is set on one Cisco Ramon, looking rather worse for wear. He's scrolled back, skimmed things he's missed-- saw George's article-- he knows everything is out on the table already, but... but it's not the same when it's from a different source. When it's not straight from the horse's mouth. And... he owes them at least that much. More. So much more, but at the very least, that.

Iris had offered to interview him, give him the voice he didn't get to have when he wasn't here, but he refused. Not because he didn't appreciate the idea, the gesture, he did. And maybe he should have let her do it, because maybe she could put it all in better words than he can, it is her job, after all. But it's the sense of responsibility that he carries for what transpired and spiraled out of control because of his own, misplaced and selfish actions that makes him turn the offer down. He wants to do it, own it and let the cards fall where they may because of it. And it will be bad. He expects that much. Expects the hatred and the vitriol, yelling and condemnation, questions and criticisms. Nothing about this is something he wants to do, to deal with, but he has to. He knows he has to, it's entirely unavoidable.

This position isn't a completely foreign or unfamiliar one, it's one he's been in before. After the particle accelerator explosion. Science'd too hard, it went sideways, people were hurt. It's a pattern at this point, and he's learned his lesson now. But it's all too little, too late, because people have been hurt. People have been killed. That blood is on his hands, and it will never really come clean.

There's a flutter in his stomach and it isn't the nervous kind, but the violent kind, paired with a tightness like a vice grip that burns in his chest. He doesn't even know what to say, where to start. He clears his throat and he can barely look at the camera to address the invisible audience.]

For those of you...who don't know me, my name is Cisco Ramon. The... [His gaze drops, but it's brief, just long enough to collect himself before he looks at the camera again. Despite it, though, his voice is shaky, unsteady, thick with emotion--mostly guilt.] Event, if you want to call it that, that we just had is the fault of no one but my own. Dr. Fitz...had his plans, but he didn't know my true intent. I sabotaged months of work and research for my own agenda. An...agenda that, ultimately, was never real, and only the work of fabrications from a mirror who manipulated me-- [He pauses and shakes his head, corrects the statement.] no, who...I blindly trusted for months on a lie. A lie that...was so clever, and matched up so perfectly to something I'd been doubting for awhile, that I had no ch-- no reason not to believe it, at the time.

[He stares down at his hands, hanging loosely between his knees, where he's leaning forward just a little. He feels sick. Things he'd seen--blood, there had been so much--when his captors chose to show him the results of what he'd done, forced him to watch from the mirrors the chaos that ensued because of his own, selfish actions, are all too close to the front of his mind, but he pushes it all down. He can deal with it later.

Again, he looks back at his audience.]
My mistakes, my...emotional-driven choices led to catastrophic disaster and....for whatever it's worth, I take responsibility for that. I...I don't know what to do. I don't know how to fix it, I can't fix it, but-- I'll do whatever it takes t- to make this right. Somehow. [Belatedly, as an afterthought:] And I'm not...I'm not touching a project like this again.

[Again, for whatever it's worth. He knows it doesn't change anything, it doesn't validate any of his actions, but he can't change the past-- ha, the irony of that-- he can only move forward in whatever miniscule increments he can manage. People will be angry, and they have the right to be, he won't begrudge them that. They should be angry. He risked them. All of them, for one person. For a lie. Nothing any of them could say is worse than what he's already thought to himself, and no one here can hate him more than he hates himself.]

I- I'm sorry. [A tear rolls down his cheek and he ducks his head, leaning forward to cut the feed off and it goes black.]

[Note: I'M SORRY, I COULDN'T WAIT, SO IT'S LIKE TINY BIT FWD-DATED! I'm an impatient child, I'm sorry. Plz feel free to threadjack, shitpost, defend him, rage at him, go wild, guys!]

As many of you have no doubt noticed by now, we are in the midst of what, for lack of a better word, I'll call an event. Not a normal event, though. Wonderland hasn't raked through anyone's memories and put bits of our lives on display. This is the doing of individual Reals and Mirrors, and the fallout of their actions, proving once again, our greatest enemies will always be ourselves.

Leopold Fitz and Cisco Ramon, two scientists that started out with the best of intentions, as so many scientists do, have been trying to create a way out of Wonderland, though they refrained from sharing this information with the public before running their experiment last week. "I don't think anyone's been that in the dark that some of us have been working on trying to find a way home. There's no sense in getting people's hopes up over something that is almost certainly destined to fail the first few, probably hundred times," said Ramon, when questioned.

but i've also never been in a magical pocket dimension that could provide liquor from all across the multiverse and i'm willing to bet that can change. what i'm looking for is drink recommendations--give me the strongest drinks you've got back home. no need to mention if they taste like lighter fluid or not

and since you're not supposed to drink alone, my door's open if anyone wants to join me. third floor, room 50. if you're a creep i reserve the right to kick your ass and then kick you out ♥

Seems once again I've been dropped off here. I tried to look back using our device to see how far long I was gone - about a month, I think. Interesting really... I was gone for about five months in my perspective. Some of the most eventful of my life.

[Considering he's dead, again, that's saying something.]

A question, for anyone who deigns to answer me: is there something you want badly enough that you would risk everything for it? A common theory about risk taking is that the greater the reward, the greater the risk to achieve it. Usually it's just applied to stocks and bonds, but it's true for all things. Therefore if you choose to risk everything for a single thing... what you want must be worth more than everything you risk.

I know my answer already, and I suppose I wonder if there are people like me. It's trite to think I'm the "only one" but no one ever seems willing to own up to the benefits of ambition. Ambition isn't a bad thing, but being humble seems... pretty pathetic honestly.

We're already in some magical land that makes our dreams come true - mostly the bad ones - so let's think about the impossible some more.

[Leonard may be calling it "impossible" mostly to heckle one specific Brit, given he's travelled through time himself, but maybe it will also flush out other time travellers. May be interesting.]

If you could travel to any point in history, where and when would you go, and why?

Also, if you could travel to any point in your own personal history, your lifetime... Same questions.

Would you try to change anything?

Eventually they glance up, however, and hold up a simple heart cut out of red construction paper. They appear to have been in the process of drawing myriad swirls along the edges. They were going for something reminiscent of a lace pattern, but results are...inconclusive.]

[But that's just the first purpose of their broadcast. The second is something they've been hard at work on for some time. A combination of careful observation, idle speculation, and wheedling questions has yielded some interesting results, and it's about time those were documented.]

And there's something else, too.

[For a brief moment, they form a fingergun with their free hand, one maroon eye winking shut in a gesture that was, in all likelihood, meant to emerge as flirtatious but simply ends up comically overexaggerated. And then...then they upload the file.]

Until they're not again, anyway. If that was what had happened here, well. He wasn't quite ready to come to that conclusion just yet.

But it was very, very clear that something had gone on in Wonderland in his absence, at least.

When the feed starts, he's crossing his arms, examining the room around him before holding up a book by the corner of the cover. The pages are wrinkled and yellowed, showing signs of having been wet, waterlogged. Harrison hardly seems amused.

so, second time trying to post this. we'll see if it takes this time, i guess. dunno if wonderland's just gonna erase it once it's posted or not, but whatever. i'm guessing people have noticed the, uh, weird time stuff going on by now, right?

Specifically, I have questions for those of you who've been sent home and were brought back. Note: I won't turn down information even if this technically doesn't apply to you. I'll take everything you've got.

1. Were you able to remember anything about Wonderland while you were home?
2. How long were you gone Wonderland-wise, and were all your Wonderland memories intact when you returned?

[When the feed clicks on, there is only a faint static sound with what sounds like the microphone being covered a couple times. From the turn of the sound, one can surmise the device is being moved in the hand of the person who turned on the feed.]

This crude device is quite deceptive. At first it looked like an antiquated smart phone of sort, but inspection shows a different story. I'm a bit more impressed to learn it connects to a network that everyone is on. A means of communication is interesting... I'm curious as to why it even exists actually. Maybe that question is intentionally open-ended?

[He huffs a quiet breath of laughter out, the number of possible answers already sprouting to mind.]

If I'm being honest, I never really liked Alice in Wonderland. I can acknowledge it's historical value, and it's why I read it, but Alice herself was... fake. Designed as the perfect image of childhood innocence. She went around this new world so new to her without fear, wondered by all around her. Any flaw with her was never designed, but created by those who read the story. The world, much like this one, was of far more interest.

...What do you think of Alice though? Was she foolish for being too trusting of Wonderland, or can she be absolved for her curious nature? I think the answer you would pick, even if you don't say it aloud, reveals what kind of person you are.

If you don't want to share your answer that's fine. However I am curious about what kind of people are here. A melting pot of universes isn't exactly commonplace. I do hope this place won't be as tedious as reading Alice's adventures.

[Being kidnapped isn't comforting for anyone, let alone someone as deeply paranoid as Bruce. He thinks of a rogue from Gotham that kidnaps young blondes and call them Alice. They're all mad in Gotham.

He wonders if they're all mad here too.

But he also knows how to mask that paranoia and rely on his public persona as he speaks over the network, choosing to keep to an audio post for now.
]

My name is Bruce Wayne and while it is unlikely that my name has the weight here that it would have had at home but I figured I would put myself out there all the same. I'm sure you get tired of the same questions over and over again from new arrivals so I'll keep it to just this one.

What's the one thing you wish you had known about this place when you arrived? Advice or information that would have made the transition into Wonderland a little bit smoother, assuming such a transition is even possible, of course.

It goes without saying that you're free to leave more than one thing if you feel so inclined, I'm not going to turn away more information.

Thank you.

[And that's it, that's the post.]

Action

[After exhausting himself looking through the library he's managed to find the bar and order himself a drink to try to take to relax himself. Bruce doesn't remember the last time he felt this on edge -- which is saying something for him because he is always on edge in one way or another. This place seems mostly peaceful so far but it has to be some sort of deception. He was taken from his home, after all. And Gotham may not be the best of places but it is home and he'd like to get back to it. But he knows it won't be that easy, no one would bring that many people here without some sort of ulterior motives in play. They want something from all of them, the only question is what.

He throws back his first drink in one go. He can't imagine the catch is anything good but he has a feeling he'll know sooner or later. After all, there's always a catch. Some might call him cynical for jumping to conclusions like this so quickly but he likes to think he's being realistic. While Clark's death may have restored some well needed optimism to Bruce that doesn't mean he's blind to how cruel and ugly the world can be. He just knows now he has to try to be better than that himself.

What that means for him here, however, remains to be seen.

So, uh … [ barry looks a little tired, hair a slight mess, but he's not slurring his words. he wishes he was. ] What are you supposed to do when someone leaves? Does time kind of stop? Do rabbit holes appear out of nowhere for people to fall upwards out of?

[ Obviously a wrong turn was taken here somewhere, because as far as Rick knows, he was just in the middle of storming away from a campsite and heading for the woods. There's still woods here, of course, but it's not the woods he remembers last seeing.

In his experience, people don't just start walking in one direction only to wind up in another location entirely. So there's that particular problem to sort out. The other problem is figuring out where he is, who (and what) is around, and whether any of them can be trusted. It's not really ideal, using the phone that he's been given, because who knows who might be listening on the other end? But on the other hand, he doesn't have a lot of options here, so Rick pauses by a tree, fishes out the phone, and presses a button to turn it on. ]

Hey.

[ It's the first word that comes out, but it's not the one he meant to say. He's not sure what to say, really, so he starts commenting about the phone. ]

How did you get this to work, anyway? We've tried before, tried with anything we had left or just came across, but they didn't work. Nothing works, not really. Not anymore.

[ Cars and things like that, of course, but not electronics. ]

And while we're talking about it, anyone know where we are?

[ Oh, he's read the brochure, of course. All that did is raise more questions. ]

Just saying we're in Wonderland isn't really all that specific, you know? And even if you don't know where this really is, it's just- Strange, 'cause last time I checked, I was with a group of people in Georgia.

[ Speaking of that, he decides to at least ask, thinking no harm will come of it. ]

Guys...

[ Guess who's on the network and newly arrived to Wonderland? This kid, who isn't looking so good. He's in the dining room of the mansion, and just his head is visible--he's leaning as far back as the chair will let him, and he squints at the network as if personally offended by each and every person on there that isn't where he is now. When he speaks, it's easy to tell he has a bit of a lisp and is missing his front teeth. He's also going to be sick, from the looks of it. For someone who's brand new he's remarkably calm--it'll all hit him later. ]

The dining room can get you anything you want. Anything. You just gotta say it. [ Which isn't news to people but it's an absolute marvel for him. He groans, pained, and sinks lower into his chair.]

Oof, I--I think I overdid it.

[ And with a thwunk, he falls. There's another groan, an audible 'shit!' and the visual being broadcast to Wonderland is no longer of Dustin, but of an incredibly full table with nothing but junk food--including, but not limited to: fruit roll ups, a plethora of Hostess cakes, Poptarts, Bugles, and even something called burple. The next phrase comes from the floor, a small hand reaching up to start to hoist himself back up and onto the chair. ]

I don't feel good.

[ Unlike her announcement of Leliana's departure, this one does not reveal her voice. It's only text, written word with the author's feelings left implied, and less verbose than last time, too. ]

Alistair has gone. His room is empty and his things have vanished. As his fellow Grey Warden, I thought it best to inform those who may have known him.

[ Leliana, Brennan, Dorian. Alistair, too, now. All of her closest friends in Wonderland seem to be steadily vanishing (and she hasn't heard of Bethany Hawke, yet, another one who would be regretfully added to the list). ]

He was exactly what a Warden should be. He was brave and kind and with a good heart.

[ Ridiculous jokes and all.

Soon after, she sends out one private message to Anders: ]

Anders,

Alistair left behind Purrlock. Do cats and mabari get along? Could you teach me how to take care of a kitten, if you have the time?

ACTION, CLOSED TO PAPYRUS

He wakes up in Snowdin. )

VIDEO/ACTION [backdated to the twelfth, two days after Papyrus's post]

[It's Sans, and judging by the fact that he's sitting on a bare mattress, he seems to be in his room. He is conspicuously not wearing his hoodie--instead, he's wearing an oversized T-shirt with the words "World's Best Grandma" on it in neon letters. There's a hairline crack in his skull leading upward from his left eyesocket, but it's less than an inch long, small enough that it might be hard to notice. Other than that, everything seems normal. He's obviously tired, but when is he not tired?]

hey. so, i'm back from vacation. figured some people might want to know. was pretty nice. beaches, palm trees, margaritas. sailboats and stuff. just me on an island in the...

[He frowns and looks downward off camera, then seems to be trying to read something off paper.]

the...carrie...bean? carrie-bean. yeah, there. i'm guessing it's an ocean. actually, i didn't know oceans had names. looks nice, though. check it out.

[He holds up what appears to be some kind of vacation guide, flipped open to a page with some stereotypically gorgeous photographs of beaches and tropical fish and such.]

i dunno, this was just the first book i pulled outta the closets.

[He sets the book down and gives the camera a rather apologetic grin.]

heh, sorry, this bit is kinda nowhere.

[He pauses, glancing away off-camera.]

by the way, apropos of nothing, uh. who here doesn't know what happens when you drop mints into diet soda? cause i have an idea.

...uh, but if you already know, don't go popping anyone's bubbles. we could use some fun after all that, right?

[He grins again and cuts the feed.]

[ooc: Sans will be in his room for the foreseeable future if anyone wants to visit.]

Hello everybody! Is this thing showing up for everyone now? Hi!  [There's a small, insufferably smiling child with blue-haired bob, waving hopefully at the camera.] (Hello again... maybe?)

I finally got my journaly-thing updated! [Thumbs up of triumph! She didn't even need to ask an adult for help with it! ]

A lot of you probably don't know me yet, 'cause I didn't really recognize... well, almost anyone at the parties, really, [Her voice softens into unease, glancing sideways as she fidgets]  but it could be I just got lots and lots of memories munched, like Alice, so... if you could help me figure out who all of you are, now that everything's less busy, that would be very nice of you?

Oh, I guess I should explain, right... I'm not-new here at all! I'm. [A big, dramatic pause...] A girl from the past?

Maybe I'm new for you, but...  [Here's another uncertain wince]  It's like I had a dream about going back home, but then a couple of.... years happened, overnight? [She shrugs, and tries not to look too embarassed. Or anxious. Maybe nobody will think she's a liar? Or say "That's nice, Caroline dear."]

Nothing like that's never happened to me before. I mean, plenty of weirder things have happened here, sure, all the time, but usually after a little while it goes back to normal...-ish?

Could anybody please tell me what's been going on lately? Before the parties, I mean. I've been awake for those, but I'm not sure what happened before then. Last I remember, it was just past Christmastime. And now it looks like fall outside.

Sooo.... Who would like to help solve the mystery of the amazing time-travelling girl, Coraline Jones?

[ooc: tw for body horror/decapitation. set after this. open to fourth walls given this happens the same night as the throne-room party.]

[Peter has no idea how to do this. He's still shaking, hunched in a corner, having tried to contact Bonnie only to get no response, because she's probably just passed out. It's late. He figures no matter what people want to know about this. They deserve to know. He would want to know if someone he cared about here died (ha).

He has seen dead people before. He held his Uncle Ben in his hands while he died. He was there when Captain Stacy took his final breaths, but there is something else- There is something different about stumbling on someone's head detached from their body on the floor after the action is all done in the silence when he only expects to stumble on nothing. It's different to then realize he recognizes who they are, and now he's hunched over his network device, stuck to a corner of his own room.]

If you know Faith, I found her. She died. I'm sorry. Her

She's Her body and head

She's

Her body is in my room right now. I don't know what happened. I mean she was murdered but I don't know how or who. I just found her. Also I didn't clean stuff up down there but there's blood and stuff.
[stuff being his own vomit. he still feels sick.]

[ Even though he's been in Wonderland for nearly two months at this point, this is the first time Will has made a post on the network, and only about the fourth time he's used his device at all. He's not a terrifically outgoing person, and it's easy for him to assume that people are probably better off without his input in most cases.

However, the network is clearly a good way to get answers and information, and ever since his conversation with Bedelia... He's been thinking a lot about "home". Been wondering if there are any people here in similar circumstances. It's been on his mind enough that eventually, he settles on simply straight-up asking people, if only to shut the train of thought down and put an end to the curiosity. And, perhaps, put himself a bit at ease. If that's even a possibility.

The question isn't posed through video, or even audio. This is more easily handled through text. And, it...makes the whole thing slightly less awkward, which doesn't hurt. ]

Is anyone out there uncertain about whether or not you'd like to go home?

Do you feel as though Wonderland may be the lesser of two evils? That you may be better off here than where you've come from?

[ Come and discuss any doubts you have about wanting to return to your world, Wonderland. Maybe you'll make him feel better about the disaster he'll be walking back into if and when he ever goes home. ]

[It comes slowly, over the course of a few hours. He's just minding his own business in the apartment he shares with his brother, watching some inane mutant soap opera, and he starts feeling...out of place.]

[He'd write it off as your everyday disassociation, but it gets worse, and the memories start to seep in, and then--]

[It's not like he keeps his Facebook page, or whatever the equivalent is, very up to date. He doesn't even have that many internet friends. But...heh.]

[He can't be the only one, right?]

Status Update:

pretty event-ful day on this wonder-ful island, yeah?

[ When the video feed goes live, it focuses in on a man some may have seen skulking around the mansion over the past month or so, wearing a long black coat and a baseball cap that helpfully ("helpfully") obscures some of his face. There's a long stretch of silence at first as he shifts uncomfortably. And then, he reaches up and pulls off his cap, running a hand through his hair. Some residents who have been in the mansion for at least a few months may recognize him from a previous feed, though something seems . . . different. Off.

He clears his throat before he speaks.
]

I didn't properly introduce myself before. [ A beat. His eyes flick away from the camera for a brief second before he fixes his attention back on it directly. ] My name is Harrison Wells.

[ At that, Harrison reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pair of glasses, sliding them on before crossing his arms. A soft huff escapes his lips. He'd been over what he was going to say already, and the words were still hard to find. Speeches about tech to an audience that ate up every last syllable were easy; a brief statement about himself was another beast entirely. His words are clipped, like he's choosing them very, very carefully. ]

My doppelgänger was here for a brief period of time as well, though it appears he's left. Before anyone asks, no. I'm not his mirror. He was not mine. In our— [ There's a slight pause as he grapples with how exactly to describe it. ] —shared world, we're from parallel universes. So. [ Harrison gestures vaguely at that with one hand. ] I'm not him. He wasn't me.

[ He shifts again, glancing off to the side. Was there anything else to add? To say, really? A million things, maybe. But all the same— ]

That's all.
