[ After being told there are vampires in this place, Liv has to know what people think about a couple of different things without outing herself in the process. ]

If you're something other than human and need to eat, let's call it, 'alternative food,' are you ever worried about someone finding out and freaking in an 'I'll kill you' way?

And for all of the actual humans, are you afraid of the people who aren't human?

Asking for a friend.

Right, here's the thing - I need a nerd. A geek. A smart guy. Or girl, whatever. I ain't overly picky.

[He shrugs his shoulders, casual as anything, taking a long sip of his beer. Sara may have told him this was not the best method to catch himself a genius but given the chance of there being some hanging around this joint, he thinks it's the perfect way. When in doubt, post an ad.]

This guy I know got brainwashed into being the king of dicks and I'm getting kind of sick of his shit so I need someone who'd be able to do some sci-fi sciencey stuff on his head. I have a vague idea how to do it but I just can't remember the details. [He's pretty much forgotten how they originally did it back home but he can unhelpfully offer vague information and a beer while you work. A+ service.]

All the 'smart' ones I know are annoyingly the biggest idiots around, I'm looking for someone less inclined to be stupid as hell. Help me out and maybe I'll help you out. Though my skills are limited to burning and breaking stuff.

[At least he knows his strengths? If you want a bonfire, ka-ching.]

I know a good looking chick if that sweetens the deal. Ain't saying she's gonna touch you but you can admire from afar. Really far. I also know some easy dudes if that's your thing. [Hey, whatever fixes this mess.]

[The device falls from a slack hand, found in a pocket and puzzled over for only a moment before it's dropped. A smear of dirty water smudges one corner of the camera, and someone stumbles halfway into view on the screen.

That someone is soaked through, wearing a white shirt and a dirty, red tie that stands out almost ghoulishly against the pallor of his skin - just a little too grey to be natural. Maybe it's just the cold. He's shivering and gripping his upper arms, viewing the bloody carnage that surrounds him with the wide-eyed bewilderment of a child.

But no matter how you spin it, there is something visibly off about this man. His colour is one thing, but the bluish veins that stand out against his skin and the pewter-grey shade of his eyes paint a very peculiar picture.

He looks more like the bodies surrounding him than anyone who might be watching.

The backdrop paints a clear picture of just where he is, and takes a few shuffling steps forwards, displaying something that looks like uncertainty. His expression works - confusion, worry - then he moves out of shot.

[Wirt doesn't look good.

He's pale, and he's having a little trouble holding the camera steady. Too beat to stand, he's sitting on the floor leaning against the wall. Thinking is hard and he doesn't want to send out this message at all, but he doesn't have a choice in the matter.
]

I...I need someone to do me a favor.

[It takes him a moment to summon up the nerve to keep going. He uses his free hand to pull his cape tighter around him.]

I need someone to look after my brother Greg. He's only six and I-I'm not-- I'm not good in a fight and I can't really protect anyone. [His voice hitches, his nerves failing him for moment.] I-I can't even protect myself, how can I--

[He can't do this. He pokes his arm out from under his cape and knots his fingers in his hair. The famous cone hat falls off. It takes him a second to collect himself again.]

I-I just. I need someone to come look after Greg, and I need someone to not-- n-not tell me I'm an idiot or dumb whatever for this because like I know that already and it doesn't change anything, so can someone please do that? Please? Please, I...I-I need...

[He shuts his eyes tight and rubs at them. This message is too hard to do without being that guy who cries on the network and he doesn't want to go down with that kind of reputation.]

...I-I need someone to look after him. I...I'm going to go once someone says they'll come. I don't want to leave him alone, but I c-- I. I...need to. Soon. ...Thank you.

[He rattles off their current address quickly and when he pulls the camera closer to shut it off, for a second viewers can see that his other arm is heavily bandaged and blood-stained. It's been hurting him, but he wasn't sure if anyone would come if they could see it, so he's been trying really to keep it out of frame.]

[ It's been a long, long while since Steve transmitted a message through the network, and that's been no accident. His last announcement was when he came back from his last trip home, over a year ago. It hadn't felt right to take the lead in the same way after that, and others had jumped in to take his place as needed. Hadn't they? He'd thought as much, but others have told him that he's still needed as a leader. Maybe not as Cap, but as Steve.

It's a work in progress.

But here he is all the same, sending out his message toward the end of the second day. He's indoors; the room he's in not well-lit but his face is still visible. It's quiet out, the calm before the storm. ]

Michonne and I took a trip past the gates today, and... there's something coming. Or, well, a lot of somethings. A whole horde of zombies headed right for us. She's already given you guys the rundown, but I wanted to get the word out. We're gonna have to fight, or barricade ourselves away from danger. [ His expression hardens then, something steely and determined. ] Whatever you can do to keep yourself and your loved ones safe, do it.

[ A pause as he gathers his thoughts, and then he's back to it. ] I know death isn't permanent here, but this isn't a way that anyone wants to go. [ Is he speaking from experience?? Who knows, he doesn't elaborate. ] And I'll do whatever I can to help. In case you didn't know, I've got super strength, super speed, and I can take a hit. I'm not even sure if this infection will affect me because of the way my metabolism is. So if you need help getting out a scrape, let me know, all right? Or even if you just need help barricading a house. [ He's perfect for all that heavy lifting. ] I'm here to do whatever I can.

[ It's never enough, but he's still going to try. If he's learned anything this past year, it's that. ]

Oh, it's Steve, by the way. Steve Rogers. Stay safe, everyone.

[ With a firm nod, he ends the broadcast. For someone who's rusty on the speeches, it could have been worse, right? ]

[ She knew as soon as the cryptic message went up what this was going to be. And it's really something to finally be up, after two and a half years, to know this one's yours and it won't be anything good. Michonne's stockpiled more than usual - cases of bottled water, a shit ton of non-perishable food, and guns, ammo. She doesn't know what to expect; maybe it'll all disappear overnight, but she has to try.

When she wakes up back home, back in Alexandria, at first she thinks she's back. But she remembers Wonderland, sits up straight in bed and realizes a few things. Rick's not beside her, her stockpile from yesterday is still there, and her device is on the nightstand. Dressing quickly, she gets up, walks through the familiar house and out onto the porch.

She is home. There's no Daryl in the house next door, her people aren't here, but she's back and she isn't sure how to feel. She isn't even sure what fucked up thing might happen. She has to do her best to warn everyone, toe the line between scaring the shit out of people and making sure they understand. Sitting at her kitchen table (and that's a weird thing, too. This isn't anyone's but hers. This is all...hers. Her house, her couch, her mantle where she hung her katana thinking in a bout of optimism that it could stay there) she turns on her device, her face a little harder than usual which is, in all honesty, saying something. ]

If you don't know me, my name's Michonne. This is my world. Looks nice. Quaint. But it's not. Most people in Wonderland call it a zombie apocalypse. We didn't know what it was.

[ She really can't help having this moment out loud. ]

It was never entertainment for movies and tv in my world. It's real. Most of you already know what to do: shot to the head is the only thing that kills them. It's not good enough to just cut off the head. It can still bite. You get bit, you die and turn. Come back as one of them. Don't worry about being able to tell the difference between someone alive and someone dead. You can see it. Smell it.

[ And uh, one other thing: ]

If you get bit on a part that can be cut off, arm, leg. Do it. Cut it off as soon as you can. If you don't bleed to death, you won't turn.

[ But everyone knows this is temporary, so maybe people would just rather die than go through an amputation. Maybe they'd die and turn because eventually, this will end. They don't have to keep living it every single day. ]

I don't know if walkers will even be the issue. It could be anything I've gone through, right? There's enough fucked up shit that's happened, the biggest threat might not even be the dead. Just trust me. Get a weapon. Stay close because there's safety in numbers. I'm at the very end of the neighborhood with cases of water and food if you don't have any, but look in your pantries and see if there are rations, first. If you know how to use a gun, I've got those too.

Just know that noise draws them in. Gunfire is dangerous, might as well sound off a dinner bell for walkers. That's why I've had and always will have a katana. If you smell like them, they won't bother you. Smear their guts on you, smell dead, walk slow, you can get through a hoard.

[ She should stop, she can't tell everyone everything, it's too much. ]

You know how to reach me, if you need me.

[Ahem, ahem. A boy with a shock of bleached hair clears his throat, fidgeting around in his seat in search of a comfortable position public speaking doesn't afford. Some of you might recognize him from his ill-fated adventure in the forest (and others from more ill-fated adventures in flirting) but fortunately today's message isn't half so dire.]

Hey, so, anybody wants to come, we're doin' a thing down by the stream Wednesday night. Nothin' fancy, just a few people.

We're havin' our own lantern ceremony. Like a, uhh, dedication thing for people who've passed on. People you're thinkin' about, stuff you're prayin' for. Shit like that. It's tradition back home, but everyone's gotta have stuff worth commemoratin', I figure. So! Everyone's welcome, even if it's not your custom.

[It's then the boy sighs and lifts a rectangular shape into view that was resting out of sight by his feet. It's a paper lantern, beautifully hand-painted in a koi pattern that makes the fish seem alive, as though they're swimming along the folds of the paper.]

I told him to keep it simple. [Damn it, this is not simple, Yusuke.] You don't gotta go overboard like... this.

[He looks awkward holding the thing, eyebrows pinched exasperatedly, and finally just sighs.]

What you do is take a lantern like this, write your prayer or message or whatever, then light a candle inside and float it on the water. That's how it works. The light's supposed to guide spirits--or that's how the official story goes, anyways.

If you wanna join in and take one of these puppies for a spin, that's where we'll be. That's all I got to say, so... thanks? Maybe I'll see some of you there.

Let's talk news.

[Georgia's sitting at her desk, dressed in her usual black blazer and white shirt, staring at the camera seriously through her dark sunglasses.]

I'm sure no one's guessed, but it's an important topic to me. In my world, the news, like everything else, changed radically during the summer of 2014 when the Rising happened. While mainstream newspapers and tv anchors were reporting that everything was fine and laughing about "hoax" zombie sightings, bloggers who took it upon themselves to figure out what was really happening. For bloggers, spreading the truth was more important than maintaining the rapidly deteriorating status quo. They risked their lives to learn how to deal with zombies, and they wrote everything down even while fighting off infection, so that more people could use what they'd learned to survive. They were the heroes of the Rising, and a big part of why we're still around.

The Rising ended over twenty years ago, but we never forgot. There's a reason I'm a blogger, and it's not because I couldn't get a job with a so-called "legitimate" newspaper if I'd tried. My generation trusts bloggers to tell the truth on their own terms, not to bow to the will of various outside powers with different agendas. That's what I'm here to bring. The truth, nothing but.

[She sits back. Her eyes are hidden behind her glasses, but her intense focus is clear anyway.]

But that's my world. I'm interested in hearing about yours. Internet, newspaper, hell, even if the best you've got is a town crier, you've got to get your news somehow. So tell me: what's your experience with the media?

[Let's see what comes of it.]

[There's a thirty-something sickly-looking human man on the network, currently perched inside one of the myriad holes in the cliff face. He looks like he's trying to just chill here, but judging by his body language he's...kinda stressed. His expression, on the other hand, is completely neutral--which is kinda weird, considering. He's wearing robes, or at least some kind of glorified Snuggie, and it's emblazoned with the holy symbol of a hotdog.]

Hey, so uh. It's me. Sans. Usually a skeleton. Currently a human.

[Yeah and let's not get into how godawful weird it is to suddenly have organs and skin and hair and all these weird things that humans have, and the fact that he has no idea how to do anything, and the fact that basic shit like breathing is something he has to actually remember to do. Let's just. Not think about any of that.]

Also currently a Cleric of...heh, okay, I gotta give Wonderland this one. I'm a Cleric of Godtoh. I can spontaneously manifest healing hotdogs. Yeah, ya heard that right. Wonderland really, uh. Threw a whole bunch of crap at the wall to see what would stick this time, huh.

[Like, yeah, make the lazy asshole the healer, and give him healing hotdogs, and gloves that make people laugh. Sure.]

Anyway. The short version is, I'm a sorta healer. Not so great at the fighting and escaping part, and these Gem critters are all over. So I figure...if anyone needs healing, I can come by, but I'll probably need, uh. Help. Got all this brand new magic, and none of it's the fightin' kind. I figure being in groups would be best for this sorta thing, yeah? We call it partying up, in the business. Heh.

[What a nerd.]

So, yeah. Healing hotdogs. I got 'em. Anyone need 'em?

[Sans is LFG, but sadly he has shit Charisma and rolled a 9. He might need to rethink his hotdog sales pitch.]

[Like everyone, Dipper looks a little different. When he speaks, it's calmly and confidently and with a certain quality that makes you want to actually sit up and listen. It is... dare I say, a speech worthy of a diplomacy 18 check.]

Hey everyone. Peridot already explained the setting, and I think I can explain the rest. Have you noticed everything feeling a little more... random than usual? Because the costumes, my new ears, the weapons I definitely shouldn't know how to use and sometimes do, and oh yeah, the part where I can do magic...

[He whirls around, sending some magic missiles at an injector drill. He grins.]

So. Cool. But yeah, besides the setting this definitely is coming straight out of a Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons game. I think it's from our world because this is exactly how I looked that time Grunkle Ford and I were transformed by [There's something weird about the wizard's name. Like he just can't quite remember what... ah. It's their missing word. Great. He forces out the only name he can think of in connection to the wizard, even though he knows it's not quite right. Definitely their world.] Probabilitizzle the Annoying.

So yeah, have fun! And if your actions start feeling weirdly more... random than usual? That's part of the fun. Never know when you're gonna crit fail or get a nat 38, right? Just try to keep all your HP and you'll be fine.

[AH YES. LOOK AT THAT BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. Assuming you don't get motion sickness, because this is some definite mockumentary shit right here. The camera moves across the beautiful canyon with its creepy Jungi Ito-ian splendor, narrated by a familiar shrill voice.]

See? This is what I've been talking about! This is what I call a kindergarten, you clods. And not only is it a kindergarten, it's the Prime Kindergarten on Earth. Look at it. It's so elegant, so well-thought out.

[The camera lingers on a busted injector drill for a moment.]
Obviously, the equipment is defunct now, but in its day, this place was a well-oiled machine producing gems for Homeworld. If it wasn't for the fact that kindergartens drain planets of their resources and make them inhabitable for organic life, this one could probably still produce a few more quartzes. Heh.

[She laughs, awkwardly.]
- Oh! But you should see this. This is what the Wonderland creature was talking about- Ngh! [She holds the camera up, trying to get a view inside one of the holes, but it's... dark so there's not really much to see.] Look how perfect this hole is. The quartz who came out of this had to have been a brute. Also!  You should all know that this is actually a reproduction of the kindergarten Amethyst was made in. For those of you who knew her, which most of you should have.

[The camera shuffles around, reminding everyone to never eat before watching a mockumentary.] It would be almost perfect as a slice of home if not for one... problem.

[and she finally turns the camera around, revealing this face, wearing something like this, though with significantly less cleavage involved.] WHY DO I LOOK LIKE THIS?! I'm supposed to be in my element. Those Wonderclods are going to pay for-

[There's an unnerving sound off-camera and Peridot looks away nervously.] Oh no... I almost forgot about them.

So? I'm waiting. Where are you two? I figure this is some, what. Weird extension of the challenge? Am I supposed to find that fakey-fake bachelor and take him on a date or something? Because this is not even close to the venue I'd pick.

I mean. I'm only asking because I bet this would better fit one of the other boys? Where did they end up, by the way? We did sort of sign up for this whole deal as a threesome, after all. I bet we can make that work with this dating thing, probably. Sounds kinky, am I right?

[He waits another long moment, his smile growing more strained. When he doesn't get the response he expects, he just speaks through gritted teeth:]

He's so utterly baffled by his being here that he forgets his manners with some of them, turning the doorknob and just charging in without so much of a hello. Luckily, it seems these rooms are empty. ]

Oh wow... this place is big! And to think I could even-- you know-- uh... To think I could even be again! Let me tell you, it was really vague there for a bit. I'm not sure entirely where I was or how I was, but I know I was...

As many of you have no doubt noticed by now, we are in the midst of what, for lack of a better word, I'll call an event. Not a normal event, though. Wonderland hasn't raked through anyone's memories and put bits of our lives on display. This is the doing of individual Reals and Mirrors, and the fallout of their actions, proving once again, our greatest enemies will always be ourselves.

Leopold Fitz and Cisco Ramon, two scientists that started out with the best of intentions, as so many scientists do, have been trying to create a way out of Wonderland, though they refrained from sharing this information with the public before running their experiment last week. "I don't think anyone's been that in the dark that some of us have been working on trying to find a way home. There's no sense in getting people's hopes up over something that is almost certainly destined to fail the first few, probably hundred times," said Ramon, when questioned.

We're already in some magical land that makes our dreams come true - mostly the bad ones - so let's think about the impossible some more.

[Leonard may be calling it "impossible" mostly to heckle one specific Brit, given he's travelled through time himself, but maybe it will also flush out other time travellers. May be interesting.]

If you could travel to any point in history, where and when would you go, and why?

Also, if you could travel to any point in your own personal history, your lifetime... Same questions.

Would you try to change anything?

[He has experience with trying and the resulting failure too.]

Hello, everyone. I'm sorry to be bothering you, you don't have to listen if you don't want to, it's not really important.

For any newcomers, my name is Mikan Tsumiki, and welcome to Wonderland.

I've been trying to work on a few issues I have, and I think one of the things that might help is the word "normal". I want to become more like a normal teenage girl. Normal teenage girls don't apologize for everything, and they don't cry over everything, and they don't need to be useful all the time.

All worlds are different, though, so one person's normal might be different than another. But that's okay! I want to try all options.

So, if you could please finish this sentence - "A normal teenage girl____"

Greetings! This is Toriel.

So, I have been keeping an eye on the calendar, and I believe that Frisk's birthday is later this month! The date is, ah... rather vivid, in my memory.

As I am sure anyone that was there will remember, I. Somewhat put a damper on their party, last time. It has been something which I regretted deeply, and so I was thinking that perhaps we could throw them another party? One that will not have any unfortunate interruptions.

This may be a bit early for this, really, but I wish to be certain that everyone is given ample time to prepare, and come up with ideas!

What do you think?

[Sans looks more tired than usual, which is saying something.]

hey, uh. has anyone seen a cat?

[He rubs the back of his skull.]

not a talking cat or anything. a regular one. black fur, one bent ear. kinda moody. answers to 4, usually.

[He sounds pretty neutral, but he can't quite stifle a quiet sigh.]

lost track of him during the event. we got cornered on the third floor and he, uh. got away from me. he's been through worse events, so i'm not too worried, but he just...usually turns up by now.

[He's quiet for a bit, staring away off camera.]

if anyone's seen him, please let me know.

[ooc: the cat is fine and will turn up on his own unharmed, unless someone wants to find him first.]

[It's only fitting that a year after Freya arrived and the mansion was behest by zombies, there would be an event where ... the mansion is behest by zombies. If anything, it's a way to keep her busy while not talking about what she saw in the various tears, and gives her a problem to solve. It doesn't honestly take her long to make a basic option for making the invisible visible, and when she appears on the network, she is looking tired and possibly covered in glitter but otherwise pleased.]

For those of us who can't see the invisible and don't feel like getting paint everywhere, I've developed a neater solution.

[She holds up a small vial of sparkly solution. Don't judge her for how glittery it is, it's the first thing she thought of.]

This liquid is spelled to cling to anything that doesn't wish to be seen. It will hopefully make our invisible friends a little easier to find, and unlike actual glitter, only sticks to things that are invisible, so minimal mess.

[Because the problem with paintballing invisible zombies is that sometimes you miss and paint gets everywhere.]

If you need them, you can come by room 207 and pick some up, or if you're in trouble, I can astral project to you. Until then, I'm going to work on something a little more ... harmful, but I wanted to at least get a partial solution out there first.

[And with that she will disconnect and go back to working on said harmful option. Feel free to drop on by or to call for help as needed. She will be there.]

[Elizabeth looks rather apprehensive that the tears have suddenly appeared everywhere, but she can't quite mask her excitement at getting to explain to everyone the one area in which she is most certainly an expert - even if the information she has to offer is something most people have probably figured out for themselves by now.]

These rips in the air that have appeared - they're called tears, and they're something I can create. They're a window through the fabric of reality, and they show other versions of the world. The tears I make here can only lead to other versions of Wonderland, but I've looked through some of the ones that showed up by themselves and they led to versions of Columbia, where I came here from, too.

[She has quite a bit of distaste in her voice as she mentions Columbia.]

My main advice is to be careful. Most of the alternate realities out there are rather benign, with a thousand tiny changes possible - tea instead of coffee, or different coloured wallpaper. But there are also those that have bigger, more important variables at play, and those tears can be very dangerous. You might see people you recognise on the other side of them, but their personalities could be completely different - just keep reminding yourself that it's not really your parent, or partner, or whoever, but just another version of them. A 'what-if', it might be easiest to think of it as.

[It's very unlikely that she'll be able to heed her own advice, as sound as it seems to give it out.]

If you have any questions at all, I'm more than happy to answer them.
