[Souji's sitting in the grass somewhere on the grounds. A fat gray dragon about the size of a schnauzer with very useless little wings is wandering around behind him. He's looking back at her before turning to the camera with a pensive expression.]

If this war turns out to be an actual war, what should we do about our pets?

[He figures they'll just have to be kept out of the way, but it worries him. He's had that dragon for over five years now, and she was a gift from someone important. He's sure everyone else with a pet feels the same way.]

Should we...I don't know, designate someone to look after them?

[He wondered about them too.]

[He smiles a little.]

All of them.

[Tefra was just the one who happened to be with him right now.]

That's quite the valid concern! Thank you for bringing it to our attention, Narukami-kun! [He thinks of Mondo's pet dog, with much concern!]

We should indeed find someone to keep an eye on them. Perhaps even a group of people would do better, especially if there are a lot of pets! And where in the mansion should that be kept? Hmmm, that would be tricky, especially when we do not know the manner in which this war would be waged!

[Souji nods in agreement, considering.]

There's a lot we can't really prepare for, but having some kind of plan can't hurt.

[Everyone seemed to be making all sorts of other plans, after all. Might as well cover all the bases.]

That's right! We cannot let the unknown get in the way of proper safety precautions! [And it gives him something to think about too, aside from other safety preparations for the war!]

Come to think of it, one safe bet would be for the pets to be kept in a room without any mirrors! That would make it harder for the Mirrors to find them!

[Oh shit, Magnus hadn't really thought about that when he suddenly became the dog dad to seven dogs a few days ago.]

Uh, maybe we should make like a giant pet kennel to keep them all in if shit goes down? Maybe we can arrange to do shifts or make it a part of the Wonderland Guard or something.

[It's probably not on the same importance level than trying to make sure other people don't die, but he'd hate for something bad to happen to any dogs (or any other animals...~~but mostly dogs~~).]

[Minato smiled a little too. He picked up Kumori and petted those fuzzy ears.]

Orpheus and Izanagi say hi.

[The war's coming. Sure, Archie was able to scoot out of the way when the Reaper landed--okay, more like launch himself out a fourth-story window and climb down the exterior wall by sheer force of will and feline disregard for physics--but Jay doesn't want to chance that again. The window's locked.]

[There has to be another way to keep him safe through all this than just letting him loose.]

If you find out--I mean, if you or somebody works something out, I want to know.

[A flicking, tabby tail enters the frame for a second. Archie's curled up in his lap.]

[Souji waved a bit as though saying hi back to them.]

I am worried about them, though.

I don't think I've ever seen a room here without any mirrors...

[Even the diner has mirrors in it.]

They'd probably be safe in the caves.

[A beat.]

But I don't know if the first thing to do in a fight would be to grab your pets and run.

[Cat!]

I'm hoping we can work something out. The logistics are a bit...inconvenient, though.

You're right...at least with the events we usually get a heads up. I doubt we'll get any heads up with this war stuff.

[Wonderland probably wouldn't be nice enough to send them an invitation with an exact date for this dumb war to start.]

one of my iron legion robots is programmed to keeping the children of the place safe in case of an attack.

I guess I could throw in pets, too.

Hrm... You raise a valid point! I have not either. B-but I'll keep searching different rooms not to make sure! If not, then maybe a part of the tunnels should be secured instead...

That's probably a better idea. Though I'm not sure how easy it would be to get all of them down there quickly.

Probably not anything significant, anyway. Then again, we're not even sure what the Queen of Hearts meant by "war" in the first place.

[She's never seen a pet dragon before. Or if she has, she's forgotten.]

Um, maybe we could set up a safe place for them? Or um, some people could teach their pets to attack or protect them.

[Though not everyone would probably be good with that idea.]

That could be tough! But if pet owners practice this procedure with their pets in advance, perhaps that can help make it smoother when the time comes!

Out by the gardens, there's that...like, stables. For horses or some kind of livestock. Not sure how secure it'd be in the middle of a warzone, but...might be a start.

they fly around the mansion twice a day. if you ever see them - they're not taking over, just observing.
