video (voice & action replies welcome, too)
[The video feed flickers to life to reveal the dirty and slightly scraped face of a young girl who might be familiar to a few still in Wonderland. Or maybe those who knew her from before are all gone, now. Lilly isn't sure but she's determined to find out.
The screen tilts slightly as she sets the device on the ground and scurries back a little bit. And yes, scurry is most definitely the best way to describe her movements. On all fours, legs bent oddly at the sides, feet flat on the ground, and knobby knees pointing skyward, she stares calmly for a second to make sure she's broadcasting and then...
Well, then she makes her request known. The words come out firmly, if a bit jumbled from her significant lack of proper language, but she figures the message will be received just the same.]
Pe-ter. Lilly here. Come.
[And because it got such an interesting response last time, and she's a little hungry, she quickly reaches out – gaze still on the screen – and snatches an insect from mid-air as it flies past. Then, of course, she pops it into her mouth with an audible crunch, drops back on her haunches, and begins to wait.
For about three seconds. Then something else catches her eye and she scampers off screen, then back, chasing on all fours something small, and probably furry, around with a delighted giggle and only partial focus still on the comm device.
She's three. What did you really expect?]

action;
He hears her giggling before he sees her and follows that sound.]
Lilly?
[He pauses, listening for a response.]
action;
With another giggle when Souji comes into sight - because yay, she knows this person - she bounces a bit on the branch she's perched on. She isn't too far up, maybe ten feet or so, but she doesn't immediately leap from it. She learned that lesson living with Mama. No jumping from high places. Bones hurt when they break. Instead she continues to crouch in place, holding on with one hand while waving with the other and finally speaking up to make sure she has his attention.]
'Lo!
action;
There you are.
[He smiles, then holds his hands up to her. At nearly six feet tall, he's only a couple feet short of reaching her.]
Want to come down?

The bug eating is the icing on the cake. How perfect as well that she is past the age of edibility. Now she can have a pet.]
Hello darling. Are you Lily?

'Lo!
[She holds her hands out, prepared to show off what she's caught, when the animal makes good use of its teeth. With a sharp cry of pain, Lilly's smile fades into a look of anger. Her gaze snaps down to the creature and, with a quick twist of her hands, breaks its neck. With a shrug, she tosses the body over her shoulder, ignores the muted thud of its lifeless corpse landing on the ground, slides her bit finger into her mouth, and smiles around the digit into the camera once more.
Then she finally nods. Because clearly answering the question is far more important than the possible rabies. Or the small, woodland creature murder that just took place. Priorities matter, after all.]
Lilly. [She even taps her chest with her free hand, for good measure, before cocking her head to the side in a quizzical manner.] Name?

All of it would make a formidable package, especially when she became an adult. Oh yes, she was absolutely perfect.]
Hello Lilly. My name is Lilith. [She gives her a winning smile, not needing lull her into a sense of security. That darkness in her would be drawn to other darkness.]
action;
The thought of Mama causes a ping of longing in the girl's heart but she doesn't dwell on it. She'll see Mama again. She's sure of it. And maybe, if she's really lucky, she'll show up here, even. Until then, Lilly's decided to just bide her time and have some fun.
Beginning by giggling joyfully as she falls the few feet from the branch to Souji. It's almost like flying. Not quite, but close.]

Lil... ith. [She grins and pulls her finger from her mouth with an audible pop, then repeats herself, this time with more gusto.]
Lilith. [She studies the blonde for a few seconds before giving her opinion of her.] P'ity hair.
action;
He isn't sure if she'll let him hold onto her for long, but he does shift her to his hip for the moment. It'll be easier to talk to her if she's not going to scamper off after the next thing that moves.]
You remember this place? Remember my name?
no subject
A personal project and something that could be solely hers here.]
Thank you. You have pretty hair too.
Are you hungry?
action;
Her head tilts a bit, pausing in thought for a second. It isn't that she doesn't remember. She does. She just isn't so good at communicating that fact. But she'll get there.]
So-u-ji. [She thinks that's right, and even makes the point to say it slowly, with a distinctive pause, rather than jumble it all together.
And because he did ask if she remembers here, she nods.]
Wonwerwand.
[Okay. That was a bit more jumbled but, hey, she's trying.]

At the question about food, however, she disappears off-screen for a few seconds and returns with a rather large bug in her hand and a grin on her face.]
Lilly eat! [And yep, there goes the bug, right into her mouth.]
action;
Right. For both.
[He tilts his head, looking at her thoughtfully.]
Did you see Mama when you were gone?
[He's still not sure if Mama is actually Lilly's mother, but he has a feeling she isn't. Whether she's human or not is debatable, too, but Souji's not going to jump to that conclusion too quickly. He'd like to know more about her, but Lilly's ability to provide that information seems limited.]

Where are you Lily? May I see you?
