[This isn’t the first time Freya is woken up to find her world changed, but she had thought she had put this part of her life behind her. She’s also super annoyed because she’s supposed to be saving her dumb family right now, but apparently she can’t ever have what she wants. Story of Freya’s life.

This is not where she’s supposed to be but she’s too paranoid to place that on the network right away. She buys her time, explores, gets to know things, and after finding her way to a bar for a big girl drink, while she’s sitting there, swirling the straw in her hand, she opens the device and decides to test the waters. She speaks calmly and clearly, but doesn’t show her face quite yet.]

So. Instead of demanding information I'm sure you've all shared a thousand times before, I’d prefer to keep things interesting. If you all don’t mind indulging the curiosity of someone who so rarely finds themselves in a place that is quite so … eclectic, I think I’d like to know more about where you all are from.

Granted, there are many variables that make up different worlds, so let’s not let ourselves get carried away. Beginning with one topic would probably suffice, so I’ve chosen the one that I know best.

[You can almost hear the smirk as she speaks.]

Let’s talk magic.

[The reason she chooses the bar, rather than the safety of her assigned room to make that particular announcement is that she does need someone to explain this world to her and as far as she can tell, there is only one person she knows and trusts here. She would rather hear it straight from Cami, getting potentially conflicting information from strangers.

(She's aware that she's fortunate Cami was there at all - she might have had no choice but to rely on the kindness of strangers - but for how she's choosing not to think about being trapped, alone, in a world she doesn't understand. It's bad enough that her siblings aren't here and she seems to be trapped here indefinitely.)

So there she is, perched on a bar stool like she belongs there, and waiting for Cami to make her appearance. That being said, she's not completely unfriendly, so if you wish to chat her up, she'll be more than happy to talk to you.]

[ She wishes to speak of one of Solas' favorite topics, immediately piquing his interest. And because she seems curious about other places, he decides to let her see him. Perhaps there are no elves in her world? Or if there are, perhaps they are different. Either way, he has nothing to hide. ]

Are you also a mage? Or are you merely curious about the subject?

[Freya won't have to wait too long; Cami's actually planning on arriving at the bar before her shift even starts, needing to draft the latest and greatest version of her "this is why you should go to therapy" broadcast for the Wonderland masses. While most probably wouldn't find the bar atmosphere conducive towards such an effort, particularly after the post-event popularity boost they tend to get, Cami's pretty used to finding her thoughts even among the chaos and the bustle.

What does totally throw off her plans, however, is seeing a familiar face perched on one of the barstools shortly after she walks in.]

Freya? [While Cami knows this could be some sort of alternate universe doppelganger, she's willing to bet money that it isn't. After all, a Mikaelson finding her at the bar? Isn't exactly unprecedented. That doesn't make it any more expected, however; the only reason why Cami can't say it's been a year since she last saw anyone from her world is because she got sent home for a brief while--not because Wonderland's favored the New Orleans crowd at all in recent months.]

Oh my God; when did you get here?

[There's a certain kind of anonymity that comes from being a voice in someone's ear, and she's still too new to really consider breaching that yet, but she does believe in returning trust in kind so when he shows himself, she does the same - a slim, blond, human woman, sitting in a bar so casually it's almost impossible to tell she was just interdimensionally kidnapped.]

Mage is a word I haven't heard in a long time to describe what I am, but yes. Where I'm from, they mostly call us witches.

[ In lieu of a more obvious greeting, Solas offers her a smile when her image fills the front of his device. ]

That is a term I'm familiar with, though in my world it has derogatory connotations I've no wish to subscribe to other users of magic. However, if it is acceptable in your world, then I shall be glad to use it. My name is Solas. I hail from a place called Thedas.

Just recently, I'm afraid.

[She's taken some time to wander and get a feel for things, but it's been a few hours, rather than a few days.]

I heard you were here and thought that I might be able to get a ... firmer explanation from you, if that's alright.

[There's something different about her, from the Cami that she's left behind in New Orleans, but she can't put a finger on it quite yet, probably won't until she gets closer.]

Oh, the connotations for us have been derogatory as well over the years, but we've ... reclaimed it, in a sense. It is what we were before the mundane world chose to use it against us. We refused to allow them to keep it as their own.

[Being a witch means constantly having to fight for your place at the supernatural table, being dismissed by those deemed more powerful than you, or used to serve their own ends. Being a witch is about reclaiming your power and forcing vampires and werewolves alike to see that you are a force to be reckoned with, not just a pawn on a chessboard.]

My name is Freya. I've never heard of Thedas. Currently I'm living in a city called New Orleans, though I have traveled a great deal in my time.

[ Cami's not the only one currently working the bar, and after spotting an unfamiliar face seated on one of the stools, Simon makes his way over with a friendly smile and a cheerful demeanor. ]

Well, here's a new face. What's your pleasure?

[ It's the mention of magic that catches Brennan's attention, piques his curiosity enough to open a return feed in response to her question. ]

There's much magic in this place to be spoken of. Are you a mage, my lady?

[Freya is always friendly to those who are friendly to her, so she returns the smile in kind before nodding.]

That entirely depends on the quality of your tequila sunrise.

[She is a girl who knows what she wants, oddly enough. And while she is usually more one for shots, she thinks tonight needs a slower approach.]

[Again, there is a face for a face - it's much more comfortable being one-on-one than it is making a grand address to the rest of Wonderland.]

We call ourselves witches, but yes. That's the second time I've heard the word "mage" today. Are you also from Thedas?

[It might simply be a coincidence, but she gave up on believing in coincidences long ago. Sometimes it's better simply to ask.]

Hey, I can talk magic. I'm made of magic. [Peridot would call it something else, but she's not here, is she?] I'm from Earth, but I'm not human.

Oh, we are all about quality here.

[ he chuckles as he says it and goes about making her a drink. ]

At least when Wonderland is cooperating with us, anyway. I'm Simon. You a new arrival?

[ He's got a good memory for faces and most people pass through either here or the training center and gym down below at some point or other. ]

That's a topic I believe everyone here has an opinion on. And, sadly, most of them are woefully misinformed.

I'm from Earth as well. New Orleans, to be more specific.

[How curious is that. Her tone is almost amused when she replies, though not in a condescending way. She knows that magic can't be the same everywhere, and there are always those who prefer to see it as not existing at all.]

[Well, that may not be where she's from, but it's where she resides. Usually. When she's not in another dimension.]

I have a gem that's the source of my power. My body's actually made of light. And I can do all sorts of stuff because of it!

[She nods as she settles in to watch him fix the drink, resting her chin in her hand.]

Freya. I got here a few hours ago, but I was told that a friend of mine worked here - and really, when you're kidnapped by a place that is only supposed to exist in a book, I think you've earned a drink or two, don't you?

[She returns with a video reply, actually. Just because seeing the new faces obviously helps put a voice to the face.]

What about magic? Are you a magic user or..? [She asks curiously. There's not magic in her world like it is is in Freya's, but ... there's definitely the seemingly impossible and literally out of her world things that come into play within it.] I mean, I'm not a magic-user myself, but I do have ... extra abilities. [No use in hiding that. Not when a couple days ago she wound up causing the damn place to shake thanks to emotions going crazy.]

[Oh, great. Another one. Bonnie scowls. She knows how this goes and she probably should let well enough alone, but.... ]

A refuge for people who prefer special effects and ignorance to actual rational thinking and real scientific exploration.

Of course it's alright. Just--give me a second.

[Because Cami already knows how this conversation is going to go. She and Freya aren't exactly close back home, but, well, Cami's been dealing with Mikaelsons for two years and she's learned a few things. Which is why she doesn't take a seat at the bar right away, instead going behind it to both drop off her bag and grab a bottle of scotch plus two glasses.

Those in hand, she drops down on the stool next to Freya, wasting no time pouring as she looks the other woman over.]

First thing first though; are you all right? [Physically at the very lease. Freya must be confused as hell, but Cami needs to at least be sure she doesn't need some form of medical treatment before they get into the joys of Wonderland life.]

[And at this her tone is confused. Not that she's never met the skeptical sort before, but she's never met them in a world like this one.]

And why must it be true that science and magic are mutually exclusive?

[She's been matching video for video, so she does the same with Daisy's, switching to the video feature before she continues.]

I'm a witch, yes. Magic is far more common than people with preternatural abilities, but they're not unheard of. What kind of abilities do you have, if you don't mind my asking?

[ The question gets a chuckle from him. ]

Ah, I see one of them has beaten me too the punch. I am indeed. Brennan Trevelyan, at your service. And we have witches as well, but they are more of a particular... connotation of magic-users. They tend to stick to the wilds and uninhabited lands to work their craft away from people but are often credited with knowing magics far older and more powerful than any of those who do remain in the cities.

[ Which probably explained why most people in Thedas were terrified of them unless they were in desperate need of something. ]

How interesting. Do you have a solid form, or is it more of an ... illusion, of sorts?

Well, of course. Everyone knows "magic" is just a word people use to generalize talents and scientific advancements that they have no reference for.
