[ Unlike her announcement of Leliana's departure, this one does not reveal her voice. It's only text, written word with the author's feelings left implied, and less verbose than last time, too. ]

Alistair has gone. His room is empty and his things have vanished. As his fellow Grey Warden, I thought it best to inform those who may have known him.

[ Leliana, Brennan, Dorian. Alistair, too, now. All of her closest friends in Wonderland seem to be steadily vanishing (and she hasn't heard of Bethany Hawke, yet, another one who would be regretfully added to the list). ]

He was exactly what a Warden should be. He was brave and kind and with a good heart.

[ Ridiculous jokes and all.

Soon after, she sends out one private message to Anders: ]

Anders, Alistair left behind Purrlock. Do cats and mabari get along? Could you teach me how to take care of a kitten, if you have the time?

[The difference between this and Robyn's previous announcement of a departure doesn't escape Angel, and he pauses only for a moment before sending his condolences.

He, too, has lost many people he's cared about, both in Wonderland and back home. The world you're in doesn't matter. Loss always cuts deep.]

I'm so sorry for your loss.

[ If the conversation weren't over text, she would offer him a wistful smile. ]

Thank you. But, it isn't my loss alone. There are many others here who knew him.

I'm sorry you lost a friend. I didn't know Wonderland had wardens.

[ ...are there blue ones? ray thinks he'd totally want to be a blue one. ]

There were five of us, once. Now there are three. Thank you for your message.

I know it doesn't actually change anything, but I've got to imagine it's hard to have to deliver the news.

Don't you recruit?

[ bc obviously there's a group called the wonderland wardens, right? ]

It was more difficult to face the truth of it myself, actually.

[ Well. That's a surprising question. ]

Well, yes, we do recruit. Not in Wonderland, though; there was only one instance of darkspawn that I know of and there certainly has not been a Blight.

[ Isabela sends a reply as soon as she sees this. It does make her sad, she had liked Alistair, but she's more worried about Robyn. ]

I'm in the bar, Kitten. Come up and have a drink with me.

[ Which is her way of saying 'I'm sorry, come up or I'll come find you myself.' ]

[ Robyn doesn't reply; she assumes the pirate won't take no for an answer, despite a similar bar experience in which the Warden made a fool of herself.

That's why, not long after, she does appear, hovering, trying to look perfectly composed. ]

Bit early for the bar, don't you think? [ Comes the light stab at banter. ]

I'm sorry about your friend.
He must have been good, if you'd known him.

[peridot doesn't comprehend loss well and it means she's aggressively insensitive when she presents her displeasure. and text keeps the ABSOLUTE HURT on her face from showing]

WHAT?! But I just finally started to tolerate him...

He was a very good person and both a true Fereldan and Grey Warden. I wish you could have met him. He was the one who introduced me to that clearing in the forest.

[ It sounds like something Morrigan might say, and so despite the situation, Robyn smiles a little on her end. ]

Were you friends, then? Near the end, at least?

I'm sure he'll be missed.
I'm sorry I didn't have the chance to get to know him.

_{[To slough off the event's alternate identity to find the room next door taken over by a new tenant is a poor way to return to his right mind. Alistair, despite what conflicting memories he has of the man as a king and a Warden, is one of vanishingly few people Anders cares about. Actually cares about.

This is what happens when you let yourself care--you end up hurting. The best Anders can do is wish his friend well wherever he is.

You beat me to the bad news. The fourth floor is sounding lonelier for it. No more warrior banging around in armor at all hours of the day.

_{[And no more Purrlock filling the halls with his cries for attention, either. He's going to miss seeing Alistair carrying that silly cat around. Maybe he can convince Robyn to let him visit the little guy every once in a while...]}

[When Hawke sees it, all he can do is drag a hand down his face before he finds the strength to respond.]

Our numbers seem to be dwindling lately. [Who will be the last one standing, he wonders.] Bethany -- My sister -- is gone, too.

[To a world where she lives, while he carries the guilt of her death. At least she's alive somewhere.]

I'm... Sorry about Alistair. [He wets his lips, thinking for a moment.] I was about to take Dog for a walk, if you and Oren would care to join us.

I wish that you could have. I mentioned that I had a little experience in swordsmanship? He was the man with the sword. He was a very talented warrior.

Do you consider him to have been a friend, then?

The entire mansion will be lonelier for it. As soon as you can. I would like to make sure I know how to care for him. I wouldn't mind the company, either, if you're of a mind.

No - [ Visibly affected, Robyn nearly recoils at the news. Another? ] How... cruel it is, to take so many from us so quickly. [ Or, at all.

She bites her lip. Swallows. ]

I'm sorry about Bethany. [ She says in return, with great earnestness. ] She was a good friend and a very kind person. She... was there to help me with some other of Wonderland's difficulties.

[ If Fergus had come and gone, she would be devastated. Yet, Hawke has lost both of his siblings. It must be... excruciating. ]

I... will, if you really don't mind. [ She needs company like a drowning man needs air. ] I'll meet you at the front doors?

It's complicated. I was still sorting out how I felt. I'm not good with feelings.

he was annoying, but it was becoming tolerable, and now I'll never know if it could become a different feeling.

After Jowan, I was hoping we'd catch a break with sudden disappearances. We're not having much luck with the turn of the months.

_{[Two more bite the multiverse dust. Between trying to tutor Jowan and seeing Alistair on the regular, Wonderland is starting to feel impossibly small and empty without them in the wake of the busy celebration event where the mansion had been teeming with people.]}
