01 🔥 video

I'm getting real tired of getting dumped in strange places against my will. I don't like it.

[There's a low, dangerous growl of disapproval and the expression on Mick's face is not a pretty one. It's somewhat reminiscent of an angry bull. This was the second time in God knows how many days that Mick Rory has found himself stranded somewhere new and different, unsure what the hell is happening. It's not a good feeling. It didn't inspire much good will.

Though this is a definite improvement over the last place. For one, there's food. For another, he gets a free smart phone to yell at people over and voice his anger. Not bad. Though he did kind of think they went a little overboard with the white. What was with all the decorations anyway? This better not be like some low rent Christmas Town cause honestly, that sounded a lot like hell.]

You got five minutes to convince me not to torch this place to the ground cause I ain't in the mood to play nice right now. Somebody start talking. [The words come out as an angry snarl, teeth barred. He's not a happy bunny.]

[This week has been weird as hell, with the weird dreamland trips that have kept Cisco more than a little on edge. More Rogues in the mansion doesn't seem like the best before-Christmas gift. Especially the angry arsonist one. This could end pretty badly, pretty quickly. Quick, think on your feet, Cisco!]

I'm not sure anyone likes being interdimensionally kidnapped. [Not helping, Cisco.] But there's free food and booze? [That'll help. Right? Nailed it.]

Fifth floor of the mansion. [That sure was a speedy response to that not-actually-a-question. It's like he has bad memories of you and your people or something.]

You're not exactly the forgettable kind, Heatwave. [Whether that's good or not is debatable, but hey. It's true either way. And yeah. Nickname. Cause why not. Cisco had given it to him anyway.]

We?! [He motions vaguely between the device in his hand and himself with his free hand.] You and me? Wha-- I-- okay...?! [That's confusion all over the place in his voice and painted across his face, but between the crazy ass dreamland stuff and trying to avoid sleep as much as possible because of it, maybe he's just going with the crazy option. Plus, he wouldn't put it past Mick to just...seek him out and that wasn't something he wanted to be on the receiving end of.

The feed is disconnected and he pockets his device before escaping his room and heading up to the bar floor.

Dear Wonderland,
Plz don't let him die
Much love,
Cisco.

[Maybe Cisco was the wrong choice for company if chatty wasn't something you're interested in, there, Mick. But we all make choices and deal with the consequences, so here we are.

He walks into the bar and spots Mick nearly immediately--kinda hard to miss the guy playing with fire--and lifts his hand in an awkward wave. Why is he waving? He puts his hand down at his side again.]
I see you're making yourself right at home already.

[His eyes widen at the sudden forced movement, but he doesn't protest because wow that sure is some massive rage rolling off of the older man. Cisco definitely doesn't plan on pissing him off. Not intentionally, at least.]

Okay... [They were hardly buddies, he can't fathom what he'd want to talk to him about. He notes how battered Mick looks, but he doesn't comment on it. Cisco eyes the shot for a second before downing it because holy, shit, he's pretty sure he needs this.] what do you wanna talk about?

[He doesn't press, because that won't get him anywhere. He waits the beat before Mick adds the bit about his gun. And some part of him is already annoyed. Is that all he's even good for in this stupid mansion? Seriously?!

Maybe it would be slightly less annoying if he didn't have a 14 year old girl trying to convince him to build her a cold gun "like Lenny's got" for the last few weeks. Maya Hart is one stubborn and persistent teenage girl.]

And you want me to make another one. [His voice is flat, knowing and matter-of-fact because he knows that's gotta be what's coming.]

[He'd already re-created the cold gun, what was the harm in doing this one, too? Except that when Leonard had asked, it hadn't been in the middle of a fuckton of rage running rampant through his veins and in the wake of multiple fights, either.]

If I don't, you're just gonna force me, aren't you? [More matter-of-fact tones. Because that's not a doubt in Cisco's mind.] But if I do, what's stopping you from following up on your threat from earlier, about burning the place? I can't have that on my hands, you know that. [Because he does know the general direction where Cisco's moral compass lands, at least.]

[Figures. He's not surprised, of course, how could he be. But he doesn't have any advantage in this situation. He sees a lot of ways for it to go wrong. He refuses, Mick beats the shit out of him for it. Caitlin gets validated and attacks him. Lines are drawn in the sand and things get really messy. On the other hand-- he's giving an arsonist a flamethrower on crack. He could count a million ways that could go wrong.

And yet. He can see where Mick is coming from, too. Whatever that means for Cisco's own capacity for bad leanings. He wouldn't want to be at that big of a disadvantage either. Maybe it's not sound logic, but it is logic.

He pretends not to notice the all-too-familiar emotions burning in Mick's eyes. He leans over and grabs another of the shots that was lined up on the bartop and takes it.]

I'm guessing I'm not getting anything out of this. Besides the lack of a serious beating. [Which in the immediate was a pretty good trade, but in the long run, didn't mean much at all.]

I'll give you that. [He shrugs one shoulder. It's not a lie. Hell, it was kind of a lot. Guy like Mick could break Cisco in two without having to try too hard, if he wanted.

The idea of an IOU is curious, though. Earns him a perked eyebrow, but Cisco knows better than the question it. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.]

Seems like a fair enough trade. [Maybe. Maybe not. There was nothing that said Mick had to keep his end of that deal. But then...criminals as they may be, Leonard and Mick kind of had a code of sorts of their own, too, didn't they? Maybe Cisco wouldn't have to come to regret this admittedly probably terrible life decision.] It'll take a few days.
thisismadfreaky: (That's a good point)

[For a second, there's a part of Cisco that thinks this might be a trick question, with a very specifically right and wrong answer. But he's quick on his feet and he has a way around that feeling pretty quickly.]

I'm not gonna go back on our deal. But I am gonna go get a jump on finding the parts I need. Can't build your gun if I'm drunk. [Nailed it. He gets to his feet and hopes like hell Mick doesn't have a reason to stop him.] See you around, Heatwave.
