[Crowley has a pressing, important question.

In fact, it may be the most important question that anyone asks this month.

He sets the device up to video and asks the mansion at large, because he does so dislike making wasted trips.

Does anyone know if the lake has ducks on it?

[Yeah, that sure is showing the ceiling, the edge of a book, a well manicured hand, and a bit of tweed fabric. Probably a sleeve.]

I can't say I've paid it any attention, but I'd certainly enjoy a walk to feed some ducks.

I mean, maybe?

[She hasn't actually spent much time out that way, herself.]

Only one way to find out. Big fan of ducks?

Sadly, Sir, there are not. Native species seem to be well lacking in Wonderland.

[Obviously Newt has put a but of time and effort into this.]

I suspect some time with the closet, and grapes or other tasty tidbits leading to the lake could fix that though.

I've spent a lot of time out there, and there's not a duck to be found.

[It actually hadn't occurred to her that there wasn't until he said so, but then she's never spent any time around lakes before.]

there's a small pond out back with some ducks in it. don't think they've made it to the lake.

place could always use more ducks, though.

[Ducks must be cherished.]

Mmh. I don't think I've seen any ducks about. Sorry.

[He hadn't put much thought into that when he was out by the lake the other day.]

Maybe we've just gotta herd 'em to their big new home!

If it doesn't, you could set a few free. Then it would.

heh. that or someone can just get a whole herd from the closet.

or uh...flock? i think it's flock with birds.

Geese are a gaggle!

But ducklings do that if you think you're the parent, right? Follow you around wherever? I learned about that on a television program, once.

It's called imprinting?

i, heh. i don't really know all that much about birds. most i know about birds is that they're more powerful than they seem.
theothermrgray: (headtilt)

[personal profile] theothermrgray 2017-06-04 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm...

[Very easily remedied.]

I suppose the closets are going to be a huge boon, hm?

I guess I've never really thought about it. A lake would probably seem pretty incomplete without them.

[Still...]

Just seems like a weird question out of the blue.
eatsyourscience: (that is enough of your shenanigans)

You're welcome. [Totally deadpan.]

It probably doesn't so far, though. There aren't really that many animals here.

We are?

How are you planning on doing that?

Do you do a lot of work with creatures and other animals?

[Sorry, Crowley, but now you've caught his attention.]

Most animals are, because they have simpler needs.

[Sagely,] ducks are important.
