[ It's late and, rather than lay awake in bed, Caitlin's curled up in a tearoom and messing with her device. The questions she pose aren't pressing, not really, just idle curiosity finally given words. ]

I think it's amazing how someone can develop feelings for someone else here, especially if you both come from different worlds. Wouldn't you be worried that Wonderland would suddenly decide to send you home the moment you found actually happiness? Or plagued by the fear that the person you've fallen for isn't who they actually are? Just who they present themselves to be here.

[ She knows something of that, herself. The danger of falling in love with the idea instead of the actual person. ]

If you found yourself in that situation, would you hold back, keep your feelings to yourself? Or would you jump without thinking twice?

Do you have friends from home here?

( sucre has two. one is her closest friend, and the other she knows well - though not well enough that she would call them best friends. it's been strange, being in another world but still having people here that she already knows, but it isn't an unwelcome comfort. what she doesn't like is the danger they have been put in. already things have happened to zacharie, he's died despite promising not to (and as much as she realises it can't be helped, she's still filled with grief) and the events have put them in even more danger.

wonderland is another chance at being reunited after her death in their home world, but it's also worse - here, they can die, and it's discomforting. )

I have two. It's nice, but it's scary :-(

How do you feel, if you do? If you don't, do you wish your friends were here?

Anyone else having trouble sleeping lately? [ He's tried counting sheep. He counted up to a hundred thousand before deciding he should quit it. Peter's hoping that some random conversations via text will help get his mind off... well, everything.

He just can't seem to relax. One thought leads to another leads to another. It's a constant stream of noise made worse by this ability to hear people's thoughts. It's a jumble of words that don't make sense and he can't seem to shut that off.

Hello Wonderland! This is Dr. Pines speaking.

Out of curiosity, how many of you have been to different dimensions, not counting this one? Alternate worlds? Other parallel planes of existence? Or... engaged in any form of time travel, for that matter. How did you do it? Was it even on purpose, or by some fluke?

I myself spent three decades adrift in the multiverse. Fascinating stuff.

[PRIVATE TO FIDDLEFORD & STAN]

Stanley, Fiddleford--

--We need to dismantle the portal in the basement and we have to do it as soon as possible. I can't just let that thing sit around being dangerous.

Fiddleford and I should be able to take it apart with no problems, but Stanley, since you did push to have it built in the first place I thought it was only fair to tell you what I want to do.

[There's a brief, awkward pause, and then...]

I've hurt enough people with my recklessness.

Hey people! [Dipper grins, bouncing on his heels. If he hasn't slept much since the event, it's hard to tell, but considering how much sleep he got that weekend, it's really all averaged out to his usual semi-exhausted state.]

It's been a while and we've got a lot of new people so I thought it was time to remind people about the weekly game I'm running.

[He holds up an epic looking box.]

Dungeons, Dungeons, and More Dungeons! Which is pretty similar to something called Dungeons and Dragons or Warlocks and Warriors or probably some other magic stuff and other magic stuff that's found in any number of different worlds. It's tabletop roleplay, and it's awesome. If you're interested in escaping this weird fantasy world for a different, better weird fantasy world where you can fight evil and do magic and be awesome, let me know. Or just show up. I can help you make a character and show you the rule book.

[A beat.]

It… doesn't require as much math as you think it does. But you still might want to bring a calculator.

[Sans is sitting on the floor of his room, methodically tearing pages out of a plain-looking notebook. There's clearly writing on the pages, but he's propped his device on a table a few feet away, so it's impossible to tell what it is. He balls up each page and chucks them forward, and from the angle it looks like he's throwing them out into the hallway. There's a watery plap every time.]

anyone opened their door yet? some pretty crazy water physics happening. it just kinda stays there. my cat doesn't know what to do about it. he's kinda freaking out.

[Said cat goes running past the screen with a "mrrbbllggmmb" sound. Sans keeps chucking wads of paper, looking as calm and collected as he always does.]

so, second time trying to post this. we'll see if it takes this time, i guess. dunno if wonderland's just gonna erase it once it's posted or not, but whatever. i'm guessing people have noticed the, uh, weird time stuff going on by now, right?

[Maybe a stumble-jolt feeling, like missing the last step on a staircase? A sense of deja vu?]

yeah, that's my bad. looks like wonderland's giving us a twofer this time.

[Tear. Wad. Toss. Plap.]

listen, i'd just try to ignore it if you can. focus on surviving. might mess with your head a bit, but just try to roll with it. you're gonna get used to it after a day or so. no point in trying to remember what you've forgotten, cause trust me, it's gone. trying to make heads or tails of it's just gonna give you a headache, heh.

[It's not his fault, he keeps telling himself, but haha, it's real easy to just say that. Then it's your event messing everyone up and--well, anyway.]

also, if anyone needs help moving rooms or getting to the kitchen or whatever, hit me up. i'm good with shortcuts. you won't even have to get wet. [He sighs a bit.] can't help everyone, though. you can't make a shortcut to somewhere you've never been. so...

[So.]

and if this is your second or third time hearing this? sorry. sometimes you gotta repeat yourself to make it stick, heh.

[what's up it's just eleven chillin' in her cozy basement room. she's sitting on the couch in front of a coffee table where there are some d&d miniature figures and whatnot.]

I met people like me here. Are there more? [she turns her attention to the miniatures, and they levitate off the table, then go flying sideways into the wall.]

I want to meet more people like me. I thought I was alone.

[ it took her forever to hit send on this one, agonizing over whether or not she really wanted to hear the myriad of potential responses. she talked to bonnie (and to some degree, daenerys) about it last month, but there's a part of her that's curious -- that wants to know where the rest of the mansion stands. ]

i'm not homesick.
i'd like to find a way out, but i don't really want to go home.

[The camera turns on to reveal Wendy in selfie-mode, sitting on what appears to be a beach chair in the shade. She has sunglasses on anyway and looks particularly cool as she points a finger gun to the camera.]

Hey Wonderland. So, as much as I love the scene here, you guys are seriously lacking in cool hangout spots. And by that, I mean the coolest hangout spot- the roof.

[She hefts herself up from the chair and switches the camera around to reveal her setup, an obvious homage to her favorite place to goof off back home. In Wonderland, it contains two beach chairs under an umbrella, with a cooler in between them, pointed out in the direction of the beach for a great sunset view.]

Presenting: Roof Spot, Wonderland edition. Usually I'd reserve this place for only the coolest of the cool, but I'm feeling generous, and it'd be way too much work to try and figure out who wasn't allowed up here or whatever. Plus, like, it's freezing, so I figure nobody's gonna be here unless they really want it anyway. The cooler's for drinks but refilling it is hard so that's on you. Also, I will definitely be throwing water balloons from here in like, the immediate future. Consider yourself warned.

[She backs up a little bit to reveal a bucket of water balloons. Yes, it's winter, but like... who even cares about that. Details, details.]

So go ahead, use it up, dudes! C'mon, roof spot, roof spot, roof spot!

[She chants the last bit, obviously in an attempt to get people more hype for freezing their butt off on the roof, before cutting the feed. Feel free to come see her up there, or become the rather unfortunate recipient of a water balloon to the head on the ground.]

Happy New Year. :)

[ Which is, of course, notable only in that it puts her give or take six months ahead of the timeline she was working prior to her arrival here. But putting words to it anchors her. ]

This is Natasha Romanoff. Looks like I'm experiencing a little WonderlandTM Amnesia. If you could fill me in on the particulars of how we knew each other, I'd appreciate it.

And, while I admire everyone's patience with new arrivals, feel free to spare me the welcome packet. "Welcome to Wonderland, you can't leave by your own design, sometimes people come and go +/- their memories of Wonderland." I think I've managed to sift through most of the basics.

[Canny viewers might recognize the room Spike's sitting in as the office of Angel's Investigation. Spike is, in fact, sitting on a desk, boots banging against the side as he smirks into the cameras.]

Hey, mates. Thought I ought to let you know that Angel's Investigation is under new management. [He jabs a thumb towards himself.] Sure, Angel's all right as a leader, but some people want a bit more brains and a bit less forehead, know what I mean?

[Has anyone agreed to this change in staff? No. Does anyone from Angel's team even know he's here, in Wonderland? Absolutely not. Is that going to stop Spike? Not for a second. It'll make Angel mad, and that's hilarious.]

So come on over for all your mystery solving needs. We take beer and smokes as payment. One thing's sure: with me in charge it'll be a lot more fun getting your mysteries solved. Cheers!

[He salutes and disconnects.]

( she's fairly chipper when the video feed switches on. river is making use of one of those sneaky little in built devices for this, although it might be hard to tell at first considering her palm is currently covering the camera. it disappears quickly enough though, and there's her bright little face, all toothy grins and dark wild hair.

if it almost looks a little manic, well. that makes sense, because that's her in a nutshell.

she gives the device a bow before she speaks, a big sweeping gesture that sees her hair trailing on the floor and her nose almost touching her knees. when she pops back up she takes a couple of steps back, far enough back for her bare feet to become apparent. it's all very odd, really. )

Do I have your attention? ( which is really enough to make people wonder if the odd behaviour is entirely her, or if it's ( at least partially ) a gambit designed to focus viewers on her. whether the former or the latter, river will certainly never tell. instead she smiles and blows some of the hair out of her face with a huff. it's not really all that successful. ) Now, we can begin. There is too much inside these walls.

( a demonstration apparently in order, she raps her knuckles against the wall behind her, four knocks in quick succession. )

Twice as many minds as bodies, "yes, we all know" she hears, but do they really know? I have a headache already. ( which isn't a lie, she can feel the presence of so many conflicting thoughts and feelings pressing against her mind already, but she doesn't let anything more than a small frown reflect this on her expression. all smiles here, still. after all, headache or not, this place is absolutely fascinating to river. ) Is there somewhere silent to think alone? Somewhere without so much chatter.

( note that the hallway is completely noiseless, except for her. )

Noise, noise, noise. All she wants is the quiet, just one or two or three hundred and fifty seconds. Not a lot. Is there somewhere here that can be quiet?

( on that lovely final note, she skips back up to the device, plugging away at a few buttons, and then the feed disappears. )

Gotta ask - whatcha gonna say is the weirdest thing you've ever seen? Discountin' all the freaky shit that happens here, anyways.

[He clears his throat. Dan's seen some weird stuff and coming here wasn't needed to classify it as weird. Even in the wastes, the kinds of trouble he gets himself into isn't anywhere close to normal.]

Fer me, it's gotta be my own brain floatin' in a jar. But, y'no. Ain't a competition. Jus' curiosity.

[ the feed shakes for a moment, before a sign comes into frame as cordelia's chipper forced-infomercial voice dictates: ]

Wonderland got you down?  Having a hard time coping with supernatural events that they definitely didn't have back home in Dullsville, USA, or whatever your dimensional zip code was before you got here?

[ the card lowers to present cordelia's grinning face, where she sits in the offices of angel investigations, on the front desk cross legged. ]

Well, lucky for you, some of us are used to this kind of nonsense, and we're here to help you.  Whether you need protection or just someone to look into some kind of weirdness that you can't deal with alone, Angel Investigations can be the heroes you need.  Find us on the fourth floor, in room 10... especially after sundown.

We help the helpless!  So help us help you.

[ she holds the sign back up and waves it a bit, before pushing it closer to the camera so that it zooms in on the logo one last time.

(replies can be over the network, or action replies at the office). ]

[oocly: also, don't forget you can
request a vision from cordelia at any time to foreshadow plot events! ]
