[It’s perhaps one of the most peaceful events Cami’s ever experienced. It had felt more like a field trip than anything sinister or cruel, a journey into outer space untainted by some twist to their personalities or memories. In the two years she’s spent in Wonderland, Cami can’t name another time when the machinations of this place have been so kind.

Which is why, she thinks, she should expect the announcements that filter through the network so soon thereafter. Announcements of departure, of loss so like death, and two of those names strike Cami so closely that it feels like someone’s torn a wound into her chest.

She doesn’t put up anything right away—but it also doesn’t take so long as one might expect from someone who is grieving. Cami has always processed her pain by throwing herself into something, finding some action to take.

This time, there’s a rather large one.

She’s not in her own office when the feed opens, or even the privacy of her room. Instead she’s sitting at the bar—not behind it. Not until she’s finished the glass of bourbon she’s poured herself at the very least.

It’s neither the first, nor the last she’ll have that day.]

Starting today, the therapy office will be closed for the next week. [She pauses, her eyes lowering for a moment as she takes a breath.] Maybe longer. It depends on how long the other part of this takes. If anyone has an emergency, you can call me, but I won’t be keeping regular hours. Sorry.

[She looks back towards the camera then. Cami thinks she should feel some guilt about it, hence the apology—but she doesn’t.

They can live without her for a week.]

That other part I mentioned is this: the fifth floor bar. [She waves a hand briefly towards the space around her, but the truth is, most everyone likely knows about it already.] I’m the last regular worker here, which in theory makes me the de facto owner. The thing is, I already have one full time job. I can’t run this place alone.

[Cami can recognize that much of a limit at least. There’s a break while she takes a drink; the feed is pretty quiet, all things considered.]

I’m not giving it up. [Let’s establish that first.] But I need help. Bartenders especially, although if you want to volunteer and you don’t have any experience, I can teach you. I’m hoping to find some people who do, however, before Friday.

We’re going to be hosting—well. The closest thing to it would be an Irish wake. [She’s trying to be kind. It is a wake for Jo, because she’s dead in her world. Dead and gone, because just being stripped of her memories of Simon somehow isn’t bad enough.] Irish specifically, because it’s not for grieving. It’s for celebrating the people who were here and who aren’t now. See, if you knew Jo and Simon especially, you know they wouldn’t want a bunch of sad mourners crying over them. They'd want another way to be remembered, so that’s what’s going to happen. ABBA and all.

[Grieving can come before or after--and after. Cami leans forward towards the camera, a grin on her lips that doesn’t quite manage to be happy.]

We’re going to celebrate the chance to have had them in our lives, for however long that lasted. Because if anyone managed to find a way to live in this place, and to make it truly good? It was them.

[It should still be them.

Cami takes in a breath; someone listening closely enough might hear how shaky it is. What’s easier to see is the brief brush of her fingers under her eyes, wiping away the tears that threaten to form and fall. She knows she needs to finish this soon, and she tries to smile again. Maybe she even manages to be a bit friendlier this time.]

Friday night. Wear your neon. And if you’re interested in helping out, either just for the night or long-term, let me know.

[And with that, she cuts off the feed.]

[This kid's been busy, it turns out. Very busy. It's Valentine's Day, as most everyone is in all likelihood well aware, and for the first few moments of the broadcast, they appear to be quite busy with something, tongue stuck between their teeth, brow furrowed with concentration.

Eventually they glance up, however, and hold up a simple heart cut out of red construction paper. They appear to have been in the process of drawing myriad swirls along the edges. They were going for something reminiscent of a lace pattern, but results are...inconclusive.]

If anyone needs valentines, I made... [A brief pause, and they duck out of sight, only to return with an armful of hearts of every color in the rainbow.] I, um, I have a lot extra.

[But that's just the first purpose of their broadcast. The second is something they've been hard at work on for some time. A combination of careful observation, idle speculation, and wheedling questions has yielded some interesting results, and it's about time those were documented.]

And there's something else, too.

[For a brief moment, they form a fingergun with their free hand, one maroon eye winking shut in a gesture that was, in all likelihood, meant to emerge as flirtatious but simply ends up comically overexaggerated. And then...then they upload the file.]

Video;

I realize this is my first time addressing the network directly so for those who don't know me my name is Rebekah Mikaelson and I've been here a few months now. And for those from worlds similar to my own might know that today is Valentine's Day, a overly commercialized holiday aimed at those who are in love which is all well and good if you have someone to spend it with but can be somewhat disappointing if you're single [like she is, currently, not that there isn't someone she'd like to spend the holiday with but that's another can of worms entirely] so I wanted to extend an offer:

If people want to meet me at the bar tonight we can have a little informal get together and bond over our states together, drink, and try to distract ourselves from cryptic messages from mice. It doesn't matter if we've met before or not, the offer is extended to whoever wants to take it.

That is all.

Action;

[And true to her word, Rebekah can be found at the bar like she announced. She's ordered a row of shots of vodka to begin with and when people arrive she'll be handing off shots to them as a sort of welcoming gesture. If she had had the idea sooner perhaps she could have thrown something more impressive but for now she'll have to simply make do with what she has.

In any case, it beats drinking alone.

[This isn’t Cami’s first time preparing to advertise the therapy office, and some of the steps are pretty routine by now. She’s got the space neat and ready, her mirrors already broken and covered up so there would be no unwelcome interruptions from that end. She props up the phone nearby, so it can capture whatever spiel she’s about to offer to the citizens of Wonderland. The last part is figuring out just what to say, which she hasn’t quite managed yet. Cami’s plan is to give herself a bit of time, to piece together the words, and then start the video when she’s all set.

Her phone has other plans—or, you know. It would if it weren’t an inanimate object. While she means to record, Cami’s intention isn’t to broadcast. But she does, so the mansion can now watch as she paces slowly around the room with arms crossed over her chest, seemingly talking to herself.]

I think everyone would agree that the last event was incredibly difficult. [Who would say otherwise, given the constant risk of suffocation, the odd repetitions of time, the mass of jumbled and confused posts filling the network?] Unfortunately, it’s not going to be the last one that’s hard to bear. Many of the events here put us through terrible things, circumstances that no one should have to face—

So everyone feel worse about it, so you can start to feel better! [She shakes her head at herself as she realizes how that sounds. Toeing the line of truth without being blunt isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do, guys.] Okay, O’Connell. One more time, without making everyone more depressed.

[There’s silence again, Cami mulling over a better introduction. After a few minutes (and a few passes in front of the couch), she nods, bracing herself as she tries again.]

I think after the event we all just went through, everyone would agree that this world is far from a perfect place. But it doesn’t have to be perfect to still be…good. [She smiles, seemingly more satisfied with the opening.] While most of us—no. While many people are understandably eager to go home, the way things stand right now, that’s currently out of our control.

[Her pacing stops, though she smiles still. What comes next is something she’s known for a long time, but only recently truly understood.]

All we can do is try and find a way to live here in the meantime.

[She tucks her hair back behind her ear, weighing the words she’s just said. On the whole, much better than her first attempt, and she resumes walking and thinking aloud.]

And for some people, therapy can be beneficial towards doing that. It isn’t the easiest step to take; a lot of people think going to therapy means something’s wrong with them, that they aren’t good enough somehow. But as hard as it is to admit you need help—might need help—once you do…

[Her voice trails off again. Idly, Cami’s hand reaches up to toy with the pendant she’s taken to wearing as of late: a small cross made of diamonds.

God, the last few months were hard ones.]

Once you do, you’d be amazed how much better things can get.

[But she knows not to say that for real. Her personal experience aside, Cami is well aware that therapy isn’t a magic fix-it button or an immediate cure all. So she’s quick to shake her head, mentally striking that line from her upcoming speech.]

Okay, so less miracle worker at the end, but that wasn’t bad. [Dropping down on the couch, Cami reaches for the phone, meaning to review what she’s just put together, make her changes, practice once more and then broadcast for real.

As such, Wonderland gets a pretty good view of her expression when she realizes that she’s already been sending her message out over the network.]

Is this…oh God. [She groans, resting her free hand against her now reddening face.] It’s already on the network. Well, hi there, Wonderland. Welcome to this behind the scenes look at the therapist in residence embarrassing herself.

[Right. Still recording, Cami. Now is not to die of mortification.]

So obviously that was all supposed to just be practice, but it’s also true. And there is a therapist office on the sixth floor, room twenty if anyone is interested in talking.

[She sighs, but at least the sound ends with a soft laugh. What else can she do at this point?]

And I promise I’ll have the phone put away so this doesn’t happen to you.

[The past weeks and months have been nothing but complicated for Cami, to say the least. She's found out a terrible truth in her future back home, and given her conversation with Freya upon the woman's return, it's safe to say there are probably a few more unwanted discoveries lurking out there, in the darkness. She's slept and she's dreamed, and maybe that's a terrible promise to come too. But right now, as the hours stretch on during the night of December 24th, Cami isn't looking to lose herself in the mire of all things that aren't fair, aren't simple, aren't right with the world.

She wants something better. Something simpler.

So she commandeers an empty room on one of the mansion's higher floors, just for the night. The decorations are sparse: some padded benches if people want to sit and think, all facing the front where there stands a table covered with rows and rows of red candles. A few are burning, most aren't. There's enough light to see in the room itself, but not so much that it overwhelms the glow of each individual flame.

When the feed starts, she's not facing the camera; instead, Cami stands in front of that table--in front of three candles, unlit in the center.]

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

It's a Bible verse written on the grave of someone very important to me back home. I was raised Catholic, although--[she laughs]--I'm pretty terrible at it. But I've always believed in light, and hope. In the goodness that can overcome.

Whatever's going on in our dreams is taking it's toll, and I doubt many people really feel like celebrating. But today and tomorrow do mean something, for a lot of people. For my family and I...

[Midnight mass. Listening to Kieran lead his congregation to celebrate a miracle. Voices singing in joy. The beauty of the service, and the candles glistening in the dark. Cami takes a moment to regain her thoughts, giving the phone a quick glance before continuing on.]

I've set up this room in case anyone wants a place to reflect tonight. It's on the ninth floor, room four. This isn't a religious service or anything like that. Just...somewhere where there can be peace.

[And tonight, she needs that, because the reality is? Cami's set up this place for herself. She swallows just to keep her expression calm, then reaches towards a jar at the end of the table with long, thin wooden matches inside. She picks one to light with the fire of a candle already burning before turning back to those three candles in the center. She touches the match to each one, sparking a flame before moving on to the next. Three candles, three lives.

Three deaths.

She doesn't say their names. She simply blows out the match when the task is done before turning off the video. She'll spend most of her night in that room, sitting on one of the benches regardless of whether anyone joins her, watching the lights, and listening to the silence.]

I'm still not entirely convinced this whole thing isn't a dream. I've had a lot of experience with bad dreams. Getting trapped in dreams. Have you ever been trapped in a dream where you can't wake up? It's literal hell. And I'm an expert. But since I've gleaned that we're all trapped here together, I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it. Something I'm also an expert in.

[The ambient sounds of Lux Deux is prominent in the background as the feed starts up again, and for a long time it is the only sound aside from the clink of the glass being moved against the bar while Freya tries to get her words in order. She’s ascertained from her siblings at this point that she’s been gone far longer than would be considered “normal” for Wonderland – if there ever was such a thing.

She could simply announce that she’s returned and leave it at that, let those who wish to seek her out come find her, but that has never been her way, and while she doesn’t wish to talk about herself, she’s curious about something else.]

A question for you, Wonderland, though it is a rather specific one.

[Her words are slow and deliberate, likely indicating the amount she’s had to drink at this point – enough to dull the events of the last few months spent home, but not enough to make her sloppy – and the sound of her placing the glass back down on the bar can be heard before she continues.]

At this point, I’m sure we’re all aware of the … complications, involving those of us arriving from different points in the same timeline. For those of us who have come here and then learned of our future before actually going home to live through it, what do you think was worse? The speculation of what was to come, or the events themselves?

[There’s a small scrape as the glass is lifted again.]

Would you prefer to have remained ignorant, or do you feel at peace having lived the truth for yourself?

[And she’ll have the device with her to answer replies, though if you would prefer to visit her in person, she would not say no to company either. She’s probably going to be at the bar for a while.]

[There were days when Cami had been younger, more naive, that she might have liked to take a trip to Hogwarts. Of course, those days had been before vampires and witches and werewolves, much less Wonderland and all that world entails--and in its own way, that's fitting. During the event, she'd been a teenager again, one who'd seen her share of troubles but who also lived in an idealistic, carefree way, where her largest concerns revolved around her friends and her romance with a bad boy wizard who secretly had a heart of gold.

And then she wakes up.

It's hardly the first time she's gone through that morning after, when old memories reclaimed the place briefly stolen by fiction. As she opens her eyes and realizes she's alone, however, Cami sucks in a sharp gasp. That event, with all its innocence, has shown her something she knows she can never truly have. She's learned the truth about so many things, after all, since she'd first sat down to read the story of a boy wizard's magical journey. Vampires and werewolves and witches--and hybrids--are far more complicated than the world found within those pages.

She takes her time those first few days after the mansion restores itself. Cami gathers her composure and whispers into the silence of her room that it hadn't been his fault, because even when there are walls separating them she knows Klaus is listening. She reestablishes her routine because Cami has learned by now just how important that is for her when it comes to orienting herself after one of the more involved memory-altering events.

There is one part of her day missing, however. Even before Hogwarts, Cami has sent out a message to her regular patients that she's taking a vacation of sorts. She needs time for herself because more and more she's noticing the advice she gives, the effort she takes aren't having their intended effect. Something has shifted, because of the arrival of the Mikaelsons or simply due to her own tenure in Wonderland, or some combination of the two. Now, she sits in her office, tapping the table next to her phone, but doesn't turn the video on as she might on other occasions.

This isn't a broadcast she wants to make using her own face, or voice, or name.

Of course, at least one of those concerned would recognize her identity, despite the steps Cami takes to make it anonymous. She almost locks the post away from him, then opts not to, then changes her mind yet again. In some ways she knows it isn't fair to ask about this but not go to Klaus directly--yet that's exactly what makes her uncertain. Cami isn't blind, after all, nor unaware of the world she lives in back home. She might even be able to put some of the pieces herself together if she wanted to.

She doesn't want to.

In the end, she doesn't hide the text from anyone, although she doesn't claim it as her own either. She's not ready for that on such a public scale, even if she needs to ask the question. For all that she tries to do, Cami's never really been the first one to ask for help herself--not when it comes to her own problems.]

[[Anonymous Text Post]]

Do you ever think about the life you haven't lived yet?

One of the things about being in Wonderland is that your "time" doesn't continue while you're here. I think most of us know it and generally accept it. But other people from your same world can be pulled in, and for them, you've kept living. Your life has gone on, in ways you haven't experienced yet. They know your joys, your sorrows, your heartaches.

Meanwhile, for you, all those things are just part of the great "to be." Instead, you've been living here, in a world forgotten by everyone except those people within it. You might have made friends, maybe enemies. Maybe lovers. There's a chance you've found a job somewhere, or even started a service of your own, or picked up a dozen new hobbies. But however you fill it, the minutes and the hours and the days go by--and then it's months. Years. You have a life here. You're a different person.

And then someone shows up. Someone you're close to, that you care about. They're here, and you're so happy, that at first, you don't really see it. Or maybe you do, and you just pretend. But it's there, every time they look at you. Something strange in their eyes that you can't define. That you don't want to. Something that's part of that future you haven't lived through yet, that you haven't wanted to know because knowing means you carry the weight of it. Everything you learn here, you're burdened by, because you can't change it once we leave. Good, bad, whatever. It will be, and knowing about it, dissecting it, taking apart all the choices and the causes that made it happen?

Won't change a damn thing.

So what do you do? Because this person is here, and you want them to be. You want them to be in your life, but at the same time? If they look at you that way, even once more, you think it might really drive you mad. You want to fix it, whatever it is, but you can't. You want to know, but you don't. You suspect, but asking for the truth just makes it real.

Is it fair? To them, to you. Can any approach to this be considered "right?"

And what does it change about who you are now, in this place?

[[End of Anonymous Text Post.]]

[Once it's done, Cami sits back in her chair, surveying the empty office. It isn't just the future she's concerned about, but identity itself. She would have been, even if Hogwarts hadn't brought the question into sharp relief, but it has--it's shown her just who she might be, what she might enjoy had she come from a different world. If Klaus had as well.

She knows she needs to decide just what to do about that complicated mess, but there's more to her life than just her relationships from home. For the better part of a year, she'd lived on her own in Wonderland, the sole representative of her version of New Orleans, or even that particular earth. She's not the same Camille O'Connell who arrived in the tunnels almost two years before (three counting the one she'd gone back home) because she's not untouchable. She's been so focused on trying to "help," other people, and now Cami thinks she understands why.

Because when Hogwarts first faded, her instinct had been to get on the network, and reopen her office with some speech about altered identity--because then she wouldn't have to think so hard about her own.

A few hours go by between her first transmission and the next. This time, however, she's on the video, a small smile on her lips that speaks more of apology than confidence.]

Hi, all. My name is Cami O'Connell, for those of you that don't know me, and I run the therapist office on the sixth floor.

[Now the hard part. She takes in a breath, and lets it out.]

I've been thinking a lot about how I've been living in Wonderland lately. I've wanted to believe I've held myself together with dignity most times--but that isn't true. I'm more than just my self-appointed purpose, and I think somewhere along the way, I forgot that. I wanted to be my profession so much, I pushed aside the rest of it. It's been a great way not to deal, but this is Wonderland, and I'm human. There's only so many times I can be hit before the cracks begin to show.

I've...died here. [She drops her gaze momentarily, although the pain of that has largely faded in the time since. She's never admitted it this way, this publicly.] I've seen people I care for die. I've seen others broken. I've felt the helplessness of realizing my mind has been toyed with. My relationships, my memories, my life--everything I am. And I guess through all of that, I thought if I could hold on to one thing, make that consistent, I could rise above it all. But when that becomes a singular goal, it's easy to forget the real reasons why I chose to be what I am--and why I was good at it.

[Why she can still be, if Cami gets her priorities straight. She huffs out a small laugh, her voice softening for a moment.]

Wow. It almost feels like I'm at confession.

Anyway. For those of you who've seen the less dignified version of me, I'm sorry. For those of you who have trusted me, thank you. And for those of you willing to accept a flawed, ordinary human as a therapist, I'm going to start keeping office hours again, starting now. Feel free to knock, or leave a message, and we can set up an appointment. Sixth floor, room twenty. I'm here to listen if people want someone to talk to.

That's all.

We're supposed to be there when you need us and I'm looking around right now, seeing mentions of deaths and honestly, we're doing a pretty shitty job at our job, aren't we? Granted, that was prior to our little magical vacation that I'm still coming to terms with. Anyway, it's true, we're just a few people with extraordinary skills, but we can't be everywhere at once. Some of us are too self-involved to notice when shit is going down around us and focusing on our own issues is putting us in a position to let everyone else down. For the record, that's me I'm talking about, not pointing fingers at anyone else.

So, when the mirrors dissolved several weeks ago and that massive influx of people flooded our not-so-peaceful little Wonderland, people died. I, myself, had a rather unpleasant interaction with my mirror and it occurred to me that I got off lucky. Now, you're probably thinking, What does this jerk know about my plight? Okay, fair enough. But I've seen whispers of mentions of needing a police force, or some way to hold people accountable for their actions in the past. Nothing very put together seemed to have been done about it. Until now.

Where I'm from, you have an organisation called SHIELD. Strategic Homeland--well, the acronym doesn't really matter, because it's an ideal. Yeah, there is always trouble in paradise, but having lived it, I know what to look for. SHIELD, Wonderland Division, would be an active group of people you could call upon for help. A research and development team would work on ways to passify rogue mirrors that happen to our side of town. We'd look for ways to help you without pushing the boundaries of invasiveness. It's a delicate balance, and I'm not saying it would be easy. There will be trial and error. There will be people who disagree--there always are. But I'm proposing a possible solution to work alongside the Avengers to protect the people.

Anyone with skill and proper training would be eligible. You'd have to be willing to be on call and you'd have to be willing to put aside some of your time to train with other skilled agents. I'd outfit everyone with the most effective, lightweight gear with the only stipulation being you use it to help, not hurt. Any abuse of power would be dealt with swiftly. If you think I can't deactivate my own tech, you'd be wrong. I once hosted a spectacular Christmas fireworks show using my own suits. I want this to work. I want Wonderland to be as safe as we can possibly make it so we can focus all our resources working to keep the public safe when Wonderland throws its little events at us.

If you're interested, please contact me. If you have any questions or concerns, I'm here to answer them. I've already constructed an emergency call line that will, with the help of a special device, transmit your location in relation to transponders I've located in a grid across the grounds. One press and a specialised team will dispatch to your area immediately. It's not a flawless system, and I have my doubts it will do much good during these events, but it's something.

Consider this the act of someone who has made his fair share of mistakes and wants to do what he can to prevent future ones.

Stark out.

[The day after the Hogwarts event, Dorian turns on the camera feed and positions it so that everyone can see it clearly. It was bad enough having to get used to this communication device, but suddenly wound up spending a good 4 days as a magical teenager?! WHAT.]

[Dorian's attire for the day (which included a grey waistcoat, a dark green morning jacket, and a striped silver and emerald necktie) clearly indicated that he was still not over whatever that thing was.]

... Ahem. I think I've realized what a typical event is like now. Thank you kindly for the warm welcome, Wonderland...

[Dorian sighs, as if the weight of the world had pressed itself on his shoulders for a moment. He was NOT used to this sort of nonsense.]

The good thing about this event is I managed to meet many of the other residents of this world. Unfortunately, since the event changed a lot of details about our lives, I have reason to believe that many of my newfound friends look completely different than what they were in Piglumps... Or whatever that magical school was called.

So, if I happened to meet you during the event, be it as a student, a peer, or a fellow Slytherin, then would you kindly reply to this message with a video? I'd like to know how my new friends usually appear.

[Dorian relaxes for a moment before he remembers something.]

Oh, and to the cackling floozler who chased me around with a giant squid: Nobody in their right mind would find that humorous. Ever.

[ooc: tw for body horror/decapitation. set after this. open to fourth walls given this happens the same night as the throne-room party.]

[Peter has no idea how to do this. He's still shaking, hunched in a corner, having tried to contact Bonnie only to get no response, because she's probably just passed out. It's late. He figures no matter what people want to know about this. They deserve to know. He would want to know if someone he cared about here died (ha).

He has seen dead people before. He held his Uncle Ben in his hands while he died. He was there when Captain Stacy took his final breaths, but there is something else- There is something different about stumbling on someone's head detached from their body on the floor after the action is all done in the silence when he only expects to stumble on nothing. It's different to then realize he recognizes who they are, and now he's hunched over his network device, stuck to a corner of his own room.]

(The video opens on Legion's face this time. They chatter for a few moments, considering what to say. Though they had revived some time ago, it is only recently that they discovered what had happened as a result of their death.)

It has come to my attention that news of my murder has greatly alarmed both residents and visitors to this mansion.

(They pause for a moment, expression unreadable.)

This is unnecessary. My death was due to a misunderstanding; it is unlikely my attacker will harm others.

(Another pause.)

She was frightened.

[Lucifer is sitting at the bench of a shiny black piano, his fingers gently pressing the keys in a smooth melody with talented fingers as he starts to speak. It's unclear how he's being filmed without actually holding the device himself, but I'm sure it's probably just someone holding it for him.

Or not.]

Hello again, denizens of Wonderland. I made a promise to you all, and as you can see, I'm following through on it.

[Around him is a very lavish, large, and chic room, though it's clear that the piano he's at is in the middle of the room and slightly lower than most of the couches and tables, with the bar at the far end. There's also a stage microphone set up beside him, though he's not using it at the moment.]

Say hello to Deux Lux. Anyone with the ability to have fun is welcome and expected. Sixth floor, room sixty-six. It's a bit smaller than the original, I'm afraid, but it will do for now.

[He grins.]

Feel free to help yourself behind the bar when you arrive. If I think you have some skill when it comes to pouring cocktails, perhaps I'll offer you a job. Until those positions are filled, however, I'm afraid I can't do everything all by myself. I'm the Devil, not a miracle worker.

[this was in no way a good event for Peridot. oh, it had started out well enough, resistances, rebellion, standing up for the little guy, but it had all been wrong, and there for a brief moment, she was something she wasn't supposed to be. not in a metaphorical sense either. in a very real, very horrifying sense.

and then it was over. and she was back to being a gem, as if it had never happened, and was she supposed to forget that? forget that form, that body when she could remember it clearly. this is probably not bothering anyone else, but it's bothering her, and she isn't sure how to bring it up or discuss it or anything.

so she goes to her own stand-by... being bitter.]

Log Date... [she pauses, suddenly realizing she has no idea what the date even is anymore, and then goes on.] Undated Log zero-dash-zero-dash-one.

This is a public transmission from Peridot. Full designation "Peridot Facet-2F5L Cut-5XG," a gem formerly of Homeworld and currently of Earth. Allied with the Crystal Gems. [a snort escapes her- the sound pained] See that's the important word there- Gem. That's what I am. I can deny and change my intended purpose until my form dissipates, but I can't stop being a gem, am I right?

[another noise, this one more pained than the last.] As the last few days will attest, I am not right. At all. It seems whatever machinations Wonderland has in place cannot only take our memories, toy with our minds and sense of reality, and keep us locked on this miserable planet that's a poor copy of Earth, but it can also change our entire make-up on a whim. And who's to say it has to change us back? Are there people who've been stuck like this? [her voice rises, hysterical in pitch] Is this why there's a lizard that talks?? I've never seen a lizard that can speak on Earth! They just crawl around and do things with their tongues! I know, because I followed one around for most of an Earth cycle once out of sheer boredom! Maybe he was once a human, and Wonderland decided, "Why don't I just make him a lizard? It'll be great!"

[she stops mid-rant, unsure of where she was even going with this. she's fine. it's okay. she just... needed to vent about it. publicly. now the healing can begin?

right?]

Talking about what makes you feel bad is supposed to make it go away, right? Why isn't it working?

[ it's been a disorienting arrival, but that's probably par for the course. more important than where she was or how she got there, tali had to make sure that waking up surrounded by flowers and bushes and other generally questionable garden things hadn't caused any sort of issues with her suit. dying of pollen on an alien world seemed like a pretty shitty way to go, after all.

she's not sick, but tali does sound a little annoyed when she finally reaches out to the network. ]

Assuming this isn't just the weirdest fever dream ever, I have... some questions. This is a human colony, right? But where? Does everyone wake up in a flower bed or did whoever was dumping bodies just think that would be funny? It wasn't funny, for the record. But I think I need a crash course in just what exactly's going on here and some reassurance that I'm not delirious or drank something terrible by accident.

[ When the video feed goes live, it focuses in on a man some may have seen skulking around the mansion over the past month or so, wearing a long black coat and a baseball cap that helpfully ("helpfully") obscures some of his face. There's a long stretch of silence at first as he shifts uncomfortably. And then, he reaches up and pulls off his cap, running a hand through his hair. Some residents who have been in the mansion for at least a few months may recognize him from a previous feed, though something seems . . . different. Off.

He clears his throat before he speaks.
]

I didn't properly introduce myself before. [ A beat. His eyes flick away from the camera for a brief second before he fixes his attention back on it directly. ] My name is Harrison Wells.

[ At that, Harrison reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pair of glasses, sliding them on before crossing his arms. A soft huff escapes his lips. He'd been over what he was going to say already, and the words were still hard to find. Speeches about tech to an audience that ate up every last syllable were easy; a brief statement about himself was another beast entirely. His words are clipped, like he's choosing them very, very carefully. ]

My doppelgänger was here for a brief period of time as well, though it appears he's left. Before anyone asks, no. I'm not his mirror. He was not mine. In our— [ There's a slight pause as he grapples with how exactly to describe it. ] —shared world, we're from parallel universes. So. [ Harrison gestures vaguely at that with one hand. ] I'm not him. He wasn't me.

[ He shifts again, glancing off to the side. Was there anything else to add? To say, really? A million things, maybe. But all the same— ]

That's all.

[The camera comes on, and Sarah smiles as she greets Wonderland.]

Hi, everyone. If we haven't met, I'm Sarah Weller. I've been here about two months now, and I've noticed in between the insane things that happen, there's a lot of training going on either magical or physical sparring, weight lifting, all the good stuff. Injuries can happen, and while I do realize we have a few great doctors here, I wanted to offer my service, too. I'm a physical therapist. Specifically orthopedic which means I'm a pretty great masseuse. If you have a lot of aches and pains or joint problems that won't go away, muscle groups that regularly hurt, I can help. I can also help you come up with an exercise regimen that might be better for you.

If you're into water therapy, we can arrange something at the pool, but otherwise, you can find my therapy room down on the first floor, nestled between all the training facilities in room twenty-three.

[She pans the camera then to give everyone a view of the room before focusing the camera back on her.]

I won't live in this space, so let's go by appointment, any day of the week, normal business hours, nine to five. There's of course no charge for obvious reasons, and I'm happy to do something I know to help people. Each session goes about an hour and I'm starting now.

Oh, PS: Massages are great too for just relaxation, so even if you don't have a problem area, treat yourself sometime.

[ He knew she was gone even before he checked her room. Just like he knew when Teddy was gone and Tommy was gone. But he tried texting her anyway, and when she was no longer in his contacts he went to her room. Even though he knew it would be empty when he pushed open the door, seeing it...it felt like someone had punched him in the gut.

He leaned back against the wall next to the door and slid down, staring vacantly at the empty room. He lost track of time, he wasn't sure how long he had been sitting there before he pulled out his phone and sent a simple text.

[So somewhere in the middle of the weekend, after they’ve been trick or treating for a while, a video pops up on the network. It’s said to becoming from Freya Mikaelson’s device, but the witch isn’t in the frame at the moment, but her voice can be heard as she sets the scene in the bar which is Cami in her sexy vampire costume, lining up a stack of Halloween themed drinks.]

Cami and I were thinking that after you’re done collecting candy, you might want a bit of refreshment. In keeping with the spirit of the holiday, we have a number of different selections for you to choose from.

Because if we’re going to be forced to celebrate, we should do it right.. [That means the grown-up drinks are being broken out, kids. Cami’s got a couple of years as a New Orleans bartender under her belt. She’s learned how to make a few more visually interesting mixes.] Besides, I doubt any of us can marathon trick-or-treat without some kind of break. Just keep an eye out for that trickster guy if you stop by?

[Given that this event is coming from Dipper’s world, aka the home of the wacked out demonic triangle, Cami’s not going to assume the silly aspect means it’s at all safe.]

Yes.

[The video sweeps over the drinks on the bar, before the video swings around and Freya is in the frame again, wearing her sexy witch costume and moving to sit on the bar next to the drinks, but adjusting it so that Cami is in the frame as well.]

We have done our Halloween due diligence. But what is the point of the holiday if you don’t celebrate it?

Fifth floor, which almost everyone knows by now. Conveniently located near several closed doors should we need to make a run for it. And for the faint of heart--[or you know, children]--we can come up with some non-alcoholic options too. But threat of weird seasonal specter aside, we might have gotten off easy this event. So maybe it’s good to embrace the crazy for once.

[Freya nods her agreement with a smile, before shifting the frame to face her more.]

See you soon.

[And with that, the feed cuts out.

You are free to come down to the bar and hang out with the two lovely ladies, or provide your commentary via the devices. Everyone will get a Freya and Cami but feel free to specify if you want them together or separately if three person threads aren’t your jam!

Otherwise, Happy Summerween!]

[ the woman on the feed runs a hand through short, highlighted brown hair, the uncertainty in her eyes quickly making it clear that she's a recent arrival, and still riding the confusion train.  she has a particularly bad feeling about this, because she's pretty sure what's happened to her.

she's also... half wrong.  her tone contains a forced chipperness that's dropped pretty quickly. ]

Ok, so... lesson learned: interdimensional portals aren't toys.  Count me among the enlightened.  Look, all we were trying to do was send Landor the Jolly Green Giant back home.  I promise, we never meant to drag him to LA in the first place.  Not that he wasn't uh, a great guy, what with the drokken hunting and all, but I think we can all agree that people are better off sticking to their dimensional zip code.

Speaking of which, I'd really... really like to go back to mine.  And I sort of lost my portal-opening guidebook en route, so uh... oh, what was it again....

Przvzyz.  Grxnyl?

Zrn...brl?

[ just no.

LOOK.  HOW MANY RANDOM COMBINATIONS OF LETTERS WITH NO VOWELS CAN THERE BE.  she's hoping any of them will come back to her, but that's just... not happening.  not to mention she's not sure whether the physical book is actually a part of the incantation or not.  whatever, it was a shot.

the extensive candlelight behind her gives away her location to those familiar with the mansion: she's in the ballroom. ]

[ Some people, when they first come to a brand new place, like to introduce themselves. They maybe get to know people, socialize and make friends or at least make nice with those who have been around longer — you know, that sort of thing.

And then there's this guy.
]

Tell me you have a clinic here.

Or a bar.

I'm not picky at the moment.

[ There's a newcomer wandering the halls of the mansion today, the brim of his baseball cap tipped low, body language cagey at best. He's doing his best to keep his head down and his hands firmly in his coat pockets — except for when he's got his device out and is tapping out messages to post to the network rapidly. It isn't long before he comes to a stop at the stairs between the fourth and fifth floor, lifting a hand to rub at his temple idly as he lowers himself down to sit for a moment.

He seems tired — exasperated, almost, but run down more than anything else. And if he happens to bear a resemblence to another recent arrival, well. That's probably entirely coincidental. Probably.

I have to admit. [Her face animated as she starts to speak, accompanied by a dry, almost snarky tone.] I was all ready to pin this on the little Witch but I think it's fair to say we're not in Mystic Falls anymore.

[It's hard to say whether she's annoyed, bored or amused. The woman who can't look much more than early twenties, taking time out to top up her glass of Scotch. She doesn't so much as grimace as she takes a drink before speaking again.]

Right - [Refocusing on her screen.] Introductions then. Lexi Branson.

[The blonde raises her glass and drains it before setting it aside.]

I'm not exactly sure how long this is going to last... [Leaning closer to her device.] So lets skip all the boring bits and you can tell me what passes for fun in this place. Okay?

[Damon is not happy, and definitely not drunk enough for this. At first, he assumed he'd been hallucinating, on some trip after drinking bad blood. However, he has been roaming Wonderland for hours on this bright and early morning, while everyone else was likely asleep. He’s poked his head in where it doesn’t belong, waiting for the hallucination to fade. Spoilers: it doesn’t. He finally studies the communication device, accepting that this is either one very long dream or he’s actually here. Somehow. He’s on the main floor, pressed up against the marble pillar, staring up at the ceiling. It takes minimal effort to skim through previous entries before he switches to video.]

Question #1, for the masses: How drunk do you have to be for this place to start making sense? Because I’m starting to think this poor, lonely bottle's not gonna cut it. [Damon looks to the bottle in his hand with a little sigh, tapping his fingers on its surface.] Looks like we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.

[He takes a long drink, swallows, and sends the camera a slow but absolutely charming smirk:]

Question #2: what’s the one thing you wish someone had told you on your first day in the merry old Land of Wonder, but failed to?

[Damon points a finger at the camera with the hand that's still partly wound around the bottle] And go. Best answers get a pony.

[A video- filtered away from Chara and Asriel.]

[The video clicks on- this time with no obstructions on the camera, to reveal a large goat-like woman again, smiling warmly- with just the slightest hints of worry and concern on her face.]

Greetings. This is Toriel. I have been adjusting well enough here, and am learning my way around, in case you are curious! I am not here to talk about myself, however.

I simply wish to... talk about my children. Asriel and Chara. They have both been through very unpleasant situations before arriving here, and I am unsure of how well they are handling it. It is not my place to talk about details- please do not ask them about it, either. If they want to bring anything up, it is their decision.

Please, just keep in mind that they are both children. Whether they are acting out or isolating themselves, please do not hold it against them. Try and treat them kindly, and if they require space, give it to them.

I do not mean to lecture anybody- I just worry too much when it comes to my children.

That is all for now.

[Another video- this one private specifically to Alphys.]

[Toriel probably should have done this a while ago- but really, she wasn't sure how to approach the topic.]

Why did Chara imply that you killed them.

[She decided to go for the direct route, staring coldly ahead at the screen.]
