I just meant--you're asking if anyone's seen something that's invisible. It sounds like a bad joke.

Which is why I thought...you know, that it was a joke. But I'm really starting to get the sense that it wasn't.

Well he's only got the worst living wizard trying to kill him, and he's stuck living with these horrible Muggles every summer, so it's not really the best place to go back to.

Wizard? Are you-- [Wash cuts himself off before he gets any further, remembering that this is Wonderland and people are from different places, so things like wizards are...actually possible. No matter how much it freaks him out.] ...Nevermind, I don't know if I want the answer to that. Uh. Okay, yeah, if that's the case, I guess I can kind of see the issue with the possibility of him being back there. But maybe he's still around here somewhere? Got lost, or something?

...Wait, what's a Muggle?

[...Oh, right. He's technically not supposed to talk about all that stuff. It doesn't really matter here, though.]

Er. Muggles are... people that don't have magic.

[Shrug]

[That earns a long, silent pause. And, you know, several moments where he tries to repress any freaking out that he might do. Invisible cloaks he can handle, but wizards and magic? That's more of a challenge.

Finally, he clears his throat.]

I'm, uh. ...I'm getting the sense that people with magic are more common where you're from. Or something.

Sort of? We all more or less live...in the same places, but there's obviously loads of things Muggles can't even see.

[He adds, knowingly:]

Charms and things.

[It would sound almost sardonic if he wasn't so baffled. None of this is remotely what he considers obvious. Then again, he's one of those Muggle things, isn't he?]

And what's that supposed to mean, exactly? Like, what, you mean you can hide stuff from people who don't have magic?

Otherwise they'd all accidentally walk into our wizarding stores and probably make a right mess of things, wouldn't they? They're not really supposed to know we exist.

...Why can't they know? I mean, if they knew about everything, I imagine they'd be able to go without making a mess of your stores. Plus it'd save you from going to all the effort of having to hide it all, wouldn't it?
