Yesterday, everyone was introduced to Bill the Lizard, who is very busy on some building projects! This is the first phase of a three-phase event. Read on for specifics!
Phase 1
Starting yesterday, March 17, Bill is making some requested remodels to Wonderland. He'll finish these up tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19. The changes include:
Phase 2
After Bill finishes construction, things are great for a whole day. But starting on Thursday, March 20, each of the new locations starts to have a different and odd effect on the characters who encounter them. You see, it turns out that the fabric of Wonderland is a bit thin in place and moving stuff around too much has caused some leaks.
That would normally lead us to Phase 3, but you're going to have to wait for that one. ♥
As always, there will be a Q&A thread to avail yourself of. Otherwise, please use this post for plotting and planning!
Phase 1
Starting yesterday, March 17, Bill is making some requested remodels to Wonderland. He'll finish these up tomorrow, Wednesday, March 19. The changes include:
- ♥ A spacious gazebo with plenty of bench seating has replaced the fountain and pond on the grounds.
♥ Behind the Mansion, near the orchard, an amazing playground has been installed.
♥ A tower has been added to the southeast corner of the Mansion. It goes from the ground up to the tenth floor and is obvious from the interior and exterior of the building.
♥ All beds in the Mansion (no matter their style or cultural/temporal origin) have been replaced with swinging beds.
♥ All of the extra bedrooms on the second floor have been removed (making everyone wonderful, close neighbors!). Instead of bedrooms, the extra space on this floor now looks suspiciously like the facilities of an asylum.
♥ Much of the dry land between the Mansion and the ocean has disappeared--instead there's just a thin strip of beach, bringing the water much closer to everyone.
♥ The dining room has been remodeled. It now looks like a somewhat tacky diner a la the 1940's or 1950's. There's even a jukebox!
♥ The hedge maze has been cleared out and a carnival has grown up in its place. There are a few rickety rides and games (some of the vendors have switched jobs for now).
- ♥ Anyone who enters or even gets close to the gazebo will find that on exiting, his or her gender has been swapped. The effects wear off over the course of several hours to several days, depending on how long the person was in contact with the gazebo and how uncomfortable the player wants to make the character.
♥ Anyone who approaches or plays on the playground will find him- or herself aged up or down by ten years (for longer-lived beings, this can be changed to a century or millenium or whatever works best). The effects wear off over the course of several hours to several days, depending on how long the person was in contact with the playground.
♥ The southeast tower becomes a part of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Entering this area won't immediately have an effect on anyone, but the longer a person lingers the more he or she will begin to believe he or she is a wizard or witch who has been attending or teaching at Hogwarts. However, this won't affect memories of home or Wonderland, so enjoy your confusion. It also doesn't give anyone magical powers. Even more confusion.
♥ The new beds induce vivid dreams, and characters sleeping at the same time will be able to walk into each others' dreams. If a character is a spoilsport and doesn't sleep in the swinging beds, he or she doesn't get to dream walk.
♥ You might have seen this one coming: while entering the asylum on the second floor won't immediately have an effect on anyone (other than maybe creeping them out), the longer a person lingers the more he or she will fall into either the role of doctor or patient. Leaving the area makes the effects wear off rather quickly.
♥ Out on the much-closer-beach, anyone who gets wet will turn into a mer-thing. No pain involved! The character will remain in that form for as long as it takes him or her to dry out again. So if a character wants his or her legs back, sunning on the beach will do the trick.
♥ Eating in the renovated dining room alone doesn't do anything, but any two or more people who eat at the same time will find themselves swapped into each others' bodies. The effect lasts until the two (or more) people share a meal together again. (Just entering the room won't have this effect--the characters must be eating at the same time.)
♥ Characters are welcome to visit and play around at the carnival, but will find that they quickly start seeing people they recognize and aren't too fond of from the corners of their eyes. This persists after the character leaves the carnival for anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on how long he or she was there.
That would normally lead us to Phase 3, but you're going to have to wait for that one. ♥

SO. Say I have Hector age up/down. Ten years ago he was cursed, and ten years from now he'll have a peg leg. Will the curse/peg leg apply if I do this thing that otherwise will fail to change his appearance since he's hit that age where he doesn't age?

Re: + Q&A +
Will characters memories revert to whatever they are/were in ten years?
Will the doctor/patient rules on the floor be the same as during the event? as in, will doctors assume wonderland and everything the patient is talking about is a product of their mind? and patients are depowered and so on.
Will whatever role the character takes on that floor be the same each time they're there?
Can we call out to the gazebo?
Re: + Q&A +
2. No AU memory-changing will occur during this event. So the doctors might assume Wonderland is a patient's delusion, but the doctor will also have memories of Wonderland (which he/she might just choose to ignore). On the patients' side, they may believe they are depowered, but they aren't.
3. Not necessarily! It's entirely up to you.
4. lmao yes, but it will not eat you.

Clarification: We can do two things at once (ie; genderbending and aging up/down) and no more than that simultaneously, but we can do everything at least once?
Question: If we decide to age up a character, and should they have canon information that spans the ten years, will they remember that after they're returned to their normal ages?

Question: They may have vague memories of it, but won't know all the details or remember things as if they'd actually experienced it. The extent of this is up to each player--if you want the character to forget everything, that's fine, too.

Presumably (but not definitely) together.

Do all characters keep their powers? Save for instances of when they didn't have powers before (i.e. aged down)?

Re: + Q&A +
What's going on in the water?? CRITTERS? SHIPWRECKS? SEA MONSTERS? It's gonna be Daryl's home away from home for most of the event so WHAT'S THE SITUATION??
Re: + Q&A +
As for other things, I don't see why there can't be a shipwreck or some ruins down there to explore, though they're strictly there for the event.
Re: + Q&A +
Re: + Q&A +
So, what happens if a character from Harry Potter goes in the tower? Does it make them think they've gone home or is it just a neutral area for them where nothing happens?
(lol at first I was like WELL IT WOULD PROBABLY BE LIKE THE EVENT but we had one version of it where they were AU'd like everyone else and one version where they were the only ones who WEREN'T AU'd so...)

I'm deaging Krissy for part of the event and aging Adam Young up for part of it. The only problem is, I have zero icon space in their regular journals for these changes. Are we allowed to possibly use different journals for the differently aged/genderswapped characters? And if so, do we just join the comms with the journals or give you the names here or...?
Thanks!
