[ Abigail tries to do the smart thing and figure out the situation on her own. She does her best: reads the weird pamphlet three times, glances through the first few videos she finds on the smart-phone-like device, wanders around the grounds trying to look for a way out. Obviously, she does not find one. None of it makes any sense. She sits in the gardens for a few hours waiting to wake up, but if there is one thing her nightmares never are, it's tedious. So with boredom comes fear; if this isn't a dream, it means her life had changed radically yet again without warning. It means that just as she was beginning to have hope for some kind of stability, she was thrown into another mess. ]
[ The video shows her visibly upset, though clearly trying to master it. Her voice is small, and shaky with suppressed emotion, but she gets out what she means to say: ]
I'm not gonna bother asking a bunch of questions when it's obvious there's no one here who can help me.
[ Not to mention the fact that she wouldn't trust any answers she got, anyway. Any stranger might be complicit, as far as she's concerned. Abigail has difficulty trusting on the best of days. ]
I just want to know if... if anyone who sees this recognizes me. Is there anyone from my- [ It sounds so silly saying it, but she does ] -from my world here?

video;
[ Which is probably good. Because she shouldn't. Really no marginally sane person should. It's rubbish. Why do they even still have that thing? ]

Then again, not really sure reassuring is an option right now.

You could settle for a "could be worse". Apparently the food is decent, and the rooms aren't half bad.
[ And ominous magical forces are only trying to kill or traumatise you every other week. What more could anyone possibly want? Well. Other than actual good news. ]
...But, erm, if you think the people from your world might help, how about some names? The actual world might help too. Um, country names. What year you're from. Average amount of vampires or werewolves you run into per week. That sort of thing.
[ It's tough, figuring out how universes differ, once you realise how arbitrary your definition of "normal" is. But after a few years Philip is starting to get the general idea. ]

Baltimore, USA. 2013. [ A pause; she narrows her eyes for half a second, trying to tell if he's making fun of her. ] None. Why, how many's normal for you?
[ Could be, she guesses, that he's from a world where that kind of thing is common. If one impossible thing can happen, why not a dozen. Then again, could be that he's delusional and dangerous. ]

None used to sound about right. But erm, that was London, England. 2001. [ Least he can do is level the field, right? That and, erm, probably not go into the exception about zombies and aliens. ] Here I'd probably... watch my back for higher numbers.
[ Which, again, isn't reassuring welcome talk, Philip. Yeah, he might work on that a bit. For example: ]
Well. The good news is that we've got a few people from that general time and area, last I checked, so you might actually find who you're looking for. And since you're on the network they'll probably catch you soon enough, if they're around.

I asked if anyone recognized me, I didn't say I wanted them to.
[ She mutters it, half to herself, unable to really resist shooting down his supposed good news. But then, a moment later, she realizes that her words probably sound ominous, amends disingenuously ] It's bad enough if I'm stuck here, I don't want any of my friends to be, too. [ A double lie: not the reason she doesn't want to be recognized, and even if it were, it isn't as if she even has any friends ]

[ He goes just a tad quiet when he asks, because he's buying her concern, and he'd be lying if he said it didn't make him... well, jealous, probably, in the oddest way. Hoping for your friends to stay away, rather than to come back, he never really got the hang of that sentiment. ]
Fair enough, I guess.
[ And wait- wait, wait. How's he even doing on the generic introduction front? Christ, of course he skipped that part again. ]
...Erm, I'm Philip, by the way, sorry, probably should've started with that. Do you- do you need anything else? Need to- know anything else, I mean? I've been... here for a while, I can probably give you the extended version of that pamphlet. ]

I'd say nice to meet you, but it's kinda not. Nothing personal. Just- having a weird day. [ She means the whole kidnapping, weird other dimension, unseen forces nonsense. ]
[ He seems like someone who is eager to help, but some reason that only makes Abigail feel more overwhelmed. ]
I think any more new information right now would probably just fry my brain. But, thanks. [ Maybe she'll take him up on his offer later, once she's gotten her bearings ]

[ To. This. All of this. The cheerful route? Always sort of creeped Philip out, honestly, even with all the good reasons there might be for wanting to stay in magical weirdness loop land.
...Which probably means he's about done here. He can play encyclopaedia all right, but the comfort factor isn't his strength, and "after a few years you probably get used to it" remains as useless a remedy as ever. ]
Er, right. I'll- I'll leave you to it then. Good luck, erm... not meeting anybody familiar, I guess.
