Whatever did the Duchess mean? It starts like this: From the moment of her transmission all mirrors will have the faintest silver tint to them. This goes for the reflections on the Real side, as well as anything the Mirrors observe from their side. Many people might not even notice the effect on first glance, it's quite subtle. It only lasts until Friday, too,

Come Friday, June 3 all mirrors in the mansion will suddenly be reversed.

Wait, you may ask yourself, what exactly does that mean? Well! As you all know, Wonderland has a Real side, and a Mirror side. When a Real character looks into a mirror, all they normally see is their reflection, as it should be. When a Mirror character looks into a mirror, everything they see and hear is the Real side. They watch, they spy, they get their entertainment from the characters trapped over there. And now the tables have turned!

For the duration of this event

► Real characters will be able to use any and every reflective surface to watch their Mirrors. They will be able to see what they do, and listen to what they say.

► Mirror characters will see only their own reflection, perhaps for the first time in their life.

► Both sides will still be able to communicate with each other by writing on any reflective surface, as per usual.

► Real characters will not gain the ability to cross to the other side, and while Mirror characters retain their ability to do so, this continues to be a Very Bad Idea without the Queen of Hearts' permission

But what about the spool... gold... something the Duchess was talking about? Well! Go ahead and ask her, or stay turned for a few days, as another announcement on this peculiar situation is sure to follow!

For the duration of the event you are of course welcome to post with both Real and Mirror characters in their appropriate communities (the Real network is entranceway, the Mirror network is mirroruniverse, and both Reals and Mirrors can stage action encounters in entrancelogs, as long as the location shows their appropriate side) as much as you like, but we'll also provide an event log for any Mirror shenanigans, Real reactions, or cross-side communications you'd like to thread!

Mirror!Philip aka. Phil will get kind of excited about his reflection because OH HEY LOOK GUESS WHAT HANDSOME FELLA HE HASN'T SEEN IN A WHILE. He'd totally do a fashion show, except he's a Mirror Traitor and doesn't have access to the closets, and may or may not be seen doing questionable things for and with Mirror!Evelyn in exchange for food and basic goods.

Mostly he'll very cheerfully greet every reflective surface, just in case there's anyone standing behind it, and be excited whenever a Real decides to write to him.

► Philip will roll his eyes and ignore this idiot.

Mirror!Cullen aka. the Trashlord of Asshole Mountain will first be super thrilled to see his handsome face, then be super annoyed when the implications sink in, because he was REALLY hoping he'd get to meet the other side in person before something like this. SO.

Adjusting to this little setback he will play a game called "how many people can I convince that I'm really just your Real Cullen from an inevitable point in his future".

Mirror!Evelyn aka Nefertiri (aka That Bitch) will be delighted she can see her glorious reflection, because it's difficult to do one's hair by looking in a burnished piece of copper when none of the mirrors are working. Highly dangerous but lacking any and all ambition - and therefore motivation - it takes a lot to get her to give a shit, but she does like the idea of Evelyn enduring suffering of any variety.

She lives a lush life with her manservant, Mirror!Philip and will therefore try to make it look as though she's much happier than she is.

Evelyn has no interest in her Mirror's antics because the last time her Mirror crossed over she tried to have sex with LITERALLY EVERYONE EVELYN KNEW. :|

Mirror!Alex will be delighted to get to interact with the Real side properly. He's the type to subtly mess with you and maybe even murder you, but he'll do it very politely and with a thick layer of charm to make up for it. So it'll be difficult to really glean his motives, and he'll be devilishly pleasant in the interim as he does a much better job of concealing his murderish tendencies than the Real Alex ever could.

Alex will subsequently grow increasingly paranoid and glued to his mirror as he tries to figure out what in the fuck.

Mirror!Frisk will be coldly displeased about this turn of events. Since they are...technically a kid, expect them to be throwing a tantrum in the quietest, most intrusive ways possible: aka by writing awful messages on mirrors, doing absolutely nothing around a reflective surface that might suggest they're anything other than a placid, well-behaved child, and generally being a subversive prick. They might start bullying Mirror!Chara, though, out of spite, and maybe almost as a demonstration to prove to the Real Frisk that Chara is The Worst Thing Ever??? Because they're like that.

Frisk will be spending a lot of their time anxiously watching their mirror and trying to puzzle them out. Mirror!Chara has contacted them before to warn them about their mirror, and they want to watch out for both of them.

Mirror!Rose scholarliness Mirror!Rose is a quiet, bookish type who also ya know. Happens to be a Vampire. (A Moroi to be exact). While she shares Rose's looks, she's a taller, paler, willowy version of her real self and happens to wield a type of magic known as Spirit. This allows her to heal people, make plants grown, walk through dreams and has the nasty side effect of... making her unstable. She's going to be extremely nervous about he fact that her real self can see her and will likely be a little skittish to show her face at first but there's a lot of mirrors and hiding is easier said than done. Oh yeah plus... there's the fact that her bite brings on an euphoric high so. There's that.

Rose is going to be super curious about her mirror self and she's going to flip out the second she finds out what she is. It'll be a nice, weird thing where she will be torn between being disgusted and... wanting to crash through the mirrors to try and protect. Herself? It's complicated okay. She's likely to stalk her Mirror!self just so she can stop people from seeing Vampire her feed.

Mirror!Kenzi faebulous Succubus of the Dark Fae variety. She has no regard for humans whatsoever and will likely only show an interest in her mirror self because she'd like to torment her. Mirror!Kenzi will be all about using her abilities to make the real people uncomfortable. She does have full control of her powers so she's not all about killing people but she wouldn't lose any sleep over it if she did.

Kenzi, just like Rose, is going to be all about checking her alterna-self out and will not be a happy camper when she founds out her Mirror!self is Fae. Because NOT FAIR DAMMIT. Do not be shocked if Kenzi pulls up a chair, gets popcorn and beer and is amused by her own antics while criticizing not!hers everything.

MIRROR JAMES has been laying low for the last year or so, doing immense amounts of research. Most of the people involved in his plot are gone, so I really need to get him out there again. This might be a good chance for someone to accidentally find out that he's trying to undo the effects of the dark magic he's been using (in HP canon, it damages your soul. But he's unsure if he did this to himself of if the Queen made him pre-damaged). The trouble is he needs to feel real regret for what he's done, but in order to do that he probably needs to...find someone he cares about in any capacity, in the hopes that it might generate some empathy.

REAL JAMES can't help being a little curious. Mirror James is still using the room attached to Sirius' Mirror (since why would he move? He didn't get married.) so...he might go visit Sirius and spy a little bit, and make sure he's not plotting murder or anything. Just in case.

MIRROR WIRT will be SO PLEASED because HIS BROTHER IS BACK all his hard work paid off and Greg exists again and he is so, so happy about everything ever - no matter how Greg is. He'll be spending a lot of time trying to big brother him, whether he wants it or not. He'll also spend a lot of time with Mirror Beatrice. Anyone who's met him before will notice he's still carrying his lantern though...and if anyone asks about it, he'll say that of course he is - Greg's too little to do much for her Majesty, so it's a reminder that his life is in Wirt's hands, and that he has to do even more to keep him safe. This is all, of course, a lie from the Queen.

REAL WIRT and Real Beatrice are going to spend some time MST3K-ing their Mirrors ugh look at them they're so sappy and gullible and awful in various ways.

MIRROR STANLEY aka "Lee" will be very unnerved by this development because, you see, he's...not great at being a Mirror. He's not as sneaky as the Real Stan and he isn't much of a fighter, so one of the only things he can really do successfully is the spying they're supposed to be doing, and now he can't even do that. He's a little glad he doesn't have to, but also mildly terrified they'll wind up in trouble for it somehow. He's genuinely a nice person though, and people who catch sight of him will probably find him either kind of at a loss for what to do or checking in on his (arguably eviller) family.

REAL STAN doesn't like this guy, because if the Mirror version of him is "good" then what the hell is Wonderland saying about him?! After he catches sight of his Mirror's room and sees pictures of him and his Ford together, and ships in bottles on his shelves, Stan's going to decide he wants nothing to do with his Mirror, and will probably just throw a blanket over the glass.

Mirror!Dipper is as big a paranoid freak as the real one, so he'll be quietly panicking and breaking mirrors a lot (probably through magic) and generally having A Bad Time. Real!Dipper is going to spend the entire time staring at the mirrors because GOD WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY. He and Mabel will also be trying to find the Queen's chambers for recon purposes.

Mirror!Bubblegum doesn't give that many fucks, honestly. She'll chat with anyone who wants to on the mirrors and maybe make some faces at them. Bubblegum will be relieved that her mirror isn't worse, and then spend her time taking notes, mostly.

Mirror!Beatrice will be startled by this turn of events and probably flee to Wirt (and Greg!!) because she's frightened and he's her hero. Beatrice will probably also stick with Wirt and Greg so they can make fun of their mirrors.

They don't have an ounce of determination to stand up for themselves or decide their own fate, so all they really do is cling desperately to people and try their hardest to do or be anything people ask them to because OTHERS' APPROVAL IS THE ONLY THING THAT GIVES THEM MEANING PLEASE SOMEONE BE THEIR FRIEND DEAR PRINCESS CELESTIA IM SO ALONE

They're going to be Not Taking This Well because they despise their own reflection and hate feeling so exposed and vulnerable and don't want Chara to know they exist and EVERYONE ON THIS SIDE IS SO MEAN WATCHING ALL THE NICE REALS AND PINING ABOUT JOINING THEM WAS THE ONLY THING THAT MADE THEM HAPPY ;___; The best they'll be doing is probably wild uncertain alternating between trying to hide from mirrors and trying to pathetically endear themselves to people on the Real side because look how horrible their life is here.

Real Chara is going to regard their mirror with abject disgust and hatred and will probably end up smashing a lot of mirrors even if they aren't the one being spied on lmao

MIRROR SAM, aka The Yellow-Eyed Asshole, will be just thrilled to see his reflection and will probably be admiring it for some time. Following that, he'll be going about his daily routine, which means booze, drugs, sex, and generally being an awful man child. You may see him doing any of these things in the mirrors and he will not care a wink because he's a shameless piece of garbage. ♥ Unfortunately, he's a powerful piece of garbage who wields demonic/psychic abilities, so if you want to pick a fight, you might be in a little hot water. REAL SAM will be dully horrified and will probably be experiencing all the shame that his Mirror should be feeling, because. Damn, that guy is the Worst.

MIRROR SNOW, the ruthless director of Fabletown who has a beautiful wolf skin on her wall, is a generally cold and snappy Mirror who is picky about her company and has no patience for the flippant nonsense of most of the others. She's loyal to the Queen and mostly keeps to herself, respecting those who make good conversation and who have at least an iota of self-respect (most Mirrors don't, in her opinion). She won't be able to many shenanigans, but onlookers might find themselves briefly captivated by the almost unnatural beauty of what is essentially a fairy tale princess gone very, very wrong. REAL SNOW is made uncomfortable by her double and will generally be ignoring her, though she could be prodded into conversation about her Mirror if asked.

MIRROR ELLIE, the loner apocalypse teen who talks to no one and puts her survival above literally everything, also tends to keep to herself... but, even more extensively than Mirror Snow. She is incredibly hard to find and likes it that way, appearing only when summoned by the Queen and speaking rarely to others. She has no bite mark on her arm, but sports dozens of scars, can wield weapons more efficiently and ruthlessly than her Real, and tends to be a bit of a kleptomaniac. REAL ELLIE will be very interested in the Mirrors, since she hasn't had a lot of experience yet, but will be fairly disturbed by the dead-eyed look in her weird twin. She'll also be freaked out by how messed up the Mirrors of her friends seem to be...

MIRROR ROBYN, the Grey Warden who is 100% grey and 0% Warden, is quiet, but polite. She isn't a troublemaker like some of the ones above. She keeps to herself sometimes, but is curious about their world, the Real side, and her fellows. She isn't much of a fighter and is easily pushed around, perhaps because she's halfway to death and has given up on everything. Though she's loyal to the Queen, she can't contribute much to the cause, and is often overlooked by those on both sides of the mirrors. She's also jealous of those who seem to her to have 'happy endings' and will occasionally breathe some life into her own existence by quietly trying to undermine others' happiness. REAL ROBYN has never seen her own Mirror or much of the others and will be appropriately wary of them. She'll watch her own with a deep and heavy sort of fear, knowing that that could have been her own fate, but will mostly avoid looking into the mirrors, knowing they'll likely only bring more sadness, and girlfriend has had way too much of that lately.

Mirror!Elizabeth (fatalistics) is vain, selfish, a little sadistic, and very bored of being stuck in one world, as ideally she'd be using her powers to joyride through dimensions and cause havoc. She'll be annoyed that her main source of entertainment, watching the real side, has been taken away.

Real!Elizabeth is very apprehensive about the mirror side as well as fascinated by the sheer amount of variables in that version of the world, and she'll want to communicate with more friendly mirrors and establish allies there.

Mirror!Arya (docilely) is a refined, meek lady who is a long suffering doormat and sorely wishes to live on the real side. She'll want to establish friendships with more kindly sorts, but is easily used by the darker mirror sorts.

Real!Arya will be mortified at seeing her mirror version and want to find ways for her to grow a spine. She'll also be trying to cultivate allies on the mirror side as her main motivation now is to find a way over there and kill the Queen of Hearts somehow.

Mirror Amethyst will be extremely disappointed that her favorite TV show is unavailable. Once she figures out the Reals can now see her, she's going to spend most of her time shapeshifted into an awful, unknowable beast to hopefully freak out whoever's looking. Amethyst is going to be horrified because what the fuck. Who even

Mirror Undyne won't really care enough to break any mirrors. She will be probably trying to confer with Mirror Alphys to see if anything interesting can be done with the information that the mirrors are potentially reversible. Undyne will just be like who the fuck even wears dresses with spikes on them and probably watch her mirror closely just in case this means she's going to try something evil. Because Undyne assumes that OBVIOUSLY Mirror Undyne would be evil. i mean shes right but

Mirror River is going to have a fucking meltdown and break as many mirrors as she can. Literally she will just start throwing chairs. She might be a bit less lucid than normal because of the paranoia of being watched. She'll calm down a bit after a little while and just start leaving accusatory messages on the mirrors and otherwise avoid them. River is going to catch sight of her for about 0.1 seconds before the mirror she's looking through breaks, and actually be ??disappointed?? that she cant read her mirror's mind. once her mirror starts leaving messages shell leave little responses and they might have an actual conversation??

Mirror!Clary will be doing what she can to keep from being spied on, probably by covering them rather than breaking them, though she may to the latter if she gets angry enough. She's harsh, law-abiding and judgmental of people she doesn't like, and has been training to kill demons since she was very tiny.

Real!Clary will be spying as much as possible and gathering whatever information she can because she's just inquisitive and curious that way. She may even try to communicate, if anyone is up for that.

Mirror!Papyrus ...he's going to be keeping to himself for the most part! Nothing subdues gentle paranoia like being unable to keep an eye on your (rather reckless) real-counterpart! Haha. He's going to try and keep to himself. More than likely, at some point, he'll start writing on the mirrors, trying to reach Papyrus and keep him out of harms way.

After all, Papyrus did die, recently. And Mirror!Papyrus was taken with him. he's got some royal beef with Sans. He didn't see any of it happen. But u no. Sans is probably at fault. just feelin' a little betrayed by himself because sans seemed like he could protect papyrus but it didn't work out so things are kind of awkward yes

Papyrus will be observing his mirror! And...feeling kind of bad about it. He's also going to be looking out for Sans' mirror. He'll be around his normal places, though. If your mirrors are making trouble, he may try and offer a few words of friendly advice to calm the situation.

Meanwhile Sans will be lowkey trolling his Mirror until he gets bored and then will wander off to do normal Sans things and not worry about the event too much.

Mirror Rick is a very Nice and Helpful guy and will happily be trying to communicate with his Real. He'll think this is all just fine since its only fair right? Meanwhile Rick will be largely ignoring whole thing, or at least telling people he is while he watches the Mirror shenanigans unfold and eats popcorn. Its like a shitty version of interdimensional cable!

Mirror!Alphys is honestly gonna be a little pissed because ughhh now she's going to catch so much flak from everybody because they get to see her work!!! So she's gonna be breaking mirrors a lot. She's been trying to ignore her mirror exists after a rather nasty exchange a few months back so this is just gonna take the cake.

Mirror!Shepard on the other hand is gonna be taking a lot of this in stride; poking around but not very interested in anything in general. Shepard will be damn near tempted to talk to everybody this weekend bc she doesn't... actually know a lot about the mirrors so this is her chance to chat 'em up.

OKAY SO Mirror!Freya (destruccive) is going to be keeping a super low profile with regards to what she allows the other side to see on the mirrors and will likely be covering hers or breaking it with magic if she happens to be in a new place/one that's not hers. She will be making select appearances however, that I am plotting out on a one-on-one basis because I prefer a little mystery and she likes to pull at puppets from behind the scenes.

And she would love to give Real!Freya ideas at what she's dealing with with no real information. She's a planner and she doesn't want anyone ruining them. :|

That being said, she is still a witch, and she does have a shit ton of power (within the game limits) so if you would like to plot something out let me know! Real!Freya on the other hand is just going to be quietly stalking her mirror, no big deal.

I likely won't have an open post for her, but she is available for tagging around!

If she's ever Up To Something (and you never know, she might be) she'll make sure to do it without an audience, but for the most part, she'll be amused af and willing to chat anyone up. This is a version of Elena that effectively died during the ritual thanks to Klaus. John's sacrifice/the spell didn't work, and she came back as a vampire. Needless to say, she'd hate Damon for this and want his head on a platter; he's sadly not around to torment ... sry BonBon you're the next best thing.

The circumstances surrounding her death were traumatic, to say the least. It involved a lot of losses and anger, so her transition did not go smoothly. Eventually, mirror!Elena turned off her humanity to make this all easier on her, and that means this is the most opportunistic, uncensored, and careless version of Elena yet. She'll need people to feed on regularly, dinner is just so much tastier when it's fresh from the vein. ❤

I'd love all kinds of mirror backstories so please get with me.

Mirror!Henry is going to be Very Perturbed and just thrown enough to stop writing his terrible emo angst dark!author stories. (Not that they ever amount to anything, but w/e).

Real!Henry is gonna be glued to that mirror because The Duchess and her message freaked him out a little considering he has an actual heart of gold. All he'll be doing is trying to keep tabs on what's up, but if anyone were to interact, a+++

Mirror!Michonne is staying away from any and all reflective surfaces. What bullshit, this is. She enjoys watching the real side, okay.

Real!Michonne will also be keeping watch like it's her job. She takes it seriously, the spying thing for information.

LAST BUT NOT LEAST:

Mirror!Jane pending talks with Kris will be a tattooed Bonnie to Mirror!Kurt's Clyde, both of them pretty fucking terrible people but also not above communicating when they can, so:

Real!Jane will be writing messages back and forth because she's so mind blown by this and just wants to talk with these people on the other side/watch their lives.

Basically, all of mine are gonna be glued to mirrors for this event, so I'll likely tag around!

Mirror Steve will be vaguely annoyed but otherwise not too bothered by the turn of events. He doesn't believe that he has much to hide, and when he does want to have a private conversation, he can just break a mirror. He'll be wanting to track down Mirror Bucky since he'll have just recently appeared again, but otherwise he'll be laying low and waiting for orders, though he's free to be severe and orderly toward anyone who's interested in that. He wouldn't bother writing messages across the glass and would probably ignore any he sees as well. (What a spoilsport!)

Real Steve will admittedly be curious to see what the Mirrors are up to and would peek through the glass when he had the chance, but he wouldn't be glued to it the way some other characters might be. He'll be watching his own Mirror most of all, just to make sure he isn't getting up to anything unsavory.

Mirror!Nageki will hate that he can no longer spy on his real. He doesn't want to make the Queen angry, so he'll stay on the Mirror side. He'll just be really sulky.

Real!Nageki will be covering up any and all mirrors. Not only does he not the noise but Mirror!Nageki will frighten him. He'll end up on the beach so that he can avoid the mirrors as much as possible.

Real!Kay will be fascinated and will spend most of his time tapping on the mirrors and/or writing on them.

Mirror!Darcy doesn't like this. She's already ridiculously shy. With the loss of quite of few of the m!Avengers over the past year, she's gotten a little more comfortable with moving freely around and tends to avoid the actual mirrors when possible because IT'S RUDE TO SPY, ok. But, once they're flipped, she'll be a little curious and will respond to messages written to her - even give helpful tips when she can of what's going on at least until someone (probably M!Steve) stops that behavior.

If you want to have handwaved mirror things over the past year with her, just let me know. She's definitely quiet and has a stutter, but if someone gave her a reason to trust them (even if the reason or trust is a lie) she probably would. Someone doesn't have street smarts...

Real!Darcy is gonna be WTF'ing all over the place and probably more than a little nervous about them crossing over considering the last time there was a huge cross-over, she'd died at the hands of a mirror. SO she'll probably be sticking close to people she knows and trusts since she just died thanks to the infected beeyoches and had a pretty rough week last week. She'll probably write back if someone writes something, but there'll be definite caution. She's been around long enough to know that this is probably not gonna end with everything returning back to normal.

Mirror!Fitz hates you. He'd also very much prefer to be called Doctor Fitz, if you don't mind. You don't earn advanced degrees in quantum physics and then just let people call you whatever name they want, thankyouverymuch. He's cold and aloof, and takes a strong dislike to anyone trying to stuff him into any kind of ~regime~ (AKA: GO TO HELL STEVE ROGERS, YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS OF HIM). He does try collecting the more whimper-y mirrors, though. He'll try to keep them armed with heavy weaponry because THINGS ARE ROUGH HERE and guns make mousey people brave. It's for their own good.

He also doesn't give a damn about you Reals abusing your spying privileges. He'll be spending most of his time working on an actual deathray. Watch if you want to. You might learn a thing or two about productivity.

Real!Fitz is kind of morbidly fascinated. He says he isn't watching, but he'll take a peek here and then. And maybe peeks turn into stares. It's just a little bit. What harm could it do?

Mirror!Kurt is gonna raise hell, basically lol. He doesn't abide by any rules or laws and is incredibly destructive. Though sharing some of the anger that Real!Kurt has, Mirror!Kurt does not hold back or show any restraint. Think: a modern day Clyde (with Jane Doe being the Bonnie to his Clyde). Much of his time will be spent fucking things up for everyone.

Real!Kurt will simply be horrified lmao. And probably want to pretend this isn't happening, but can't ignore the facts, man.

Regina/Hawke/Josuke/Mirror Hawke

Because Regina's last mirror got eaten by a hat and I have yet to figure out a concept I like enough to use. And Josuke is brand new, so I don't have one for him yet either.

Which leaves Mirror Hawke. Who is a complete and utter fuckstick who wants to spread the glory of red lyrium to everyone ♥ And also brutally destroy the real Hawke's life and loved ones. He's not opposed to a good fuck instead though.

At first he won't care about the switch, but then he'll be absolutely furious about the implications because he really wanted to surprise Hawke's friends and family and trick them into thinking something horrible happened to him. He might take this out on Cullen's mirror, we'll see.

Real Hawke will be horrified and end up with a serious case of trainwreck syndrome.

Regina knows all about Henry's literal heart of gold so she'll be focused on protecting him and using it as an excuse not to think about Robin Hood being gone.

Josuke will freak out about there being people inside the mirrors and that's about it.
