[ Jane's living with Kurt now, that much has been established, but she doesn't want to do tattoos out of his apartment, so she's decided to do them out of her old room. It's already completely furnished and sure it looks more 'I live here' than 'I do tats out of this space' but she'll figure out what else to do with it later. For now, she has an actual offer. ]
Hey, Wonderland. Resident tattooed lady here. Jane. Or Professor Doe, I guess, since that event wasn't terrible at all. [ She's not even being glib about that! ]
Anyway, in between things that happen, I've been working on my ability as an artist. I love to draw anything and everything from portraits to landscapes. I've been using the closet to get tattoo equipment and I've been practicing on fruit skins. It's taken a while, but I think I'm ready to start offering this to everyone. A few people let me do practice tattoos on them which was awesome, and I'm pretty proud of the work. I won't reveal anyone if they don't want that, but if they want to chime in, I won't stop them from giving a testimonial. I'm sending out an attachment with a link to the work I've already done. I'm up on the fifth floor, room 51. All sanitary, professional, and I'm pretty sure you don't have to commit to having this in the real world when you go home. If things really do go back to when we left, then I guess the tattoo would go away too.
So feel free to come by, or ask questions here. I'll work with you, sketch out what you're thinking of or work off of your drawings.
Click here to be re-directed to tattoo portfolio.
[ With that, Jane feels pretty good about things, glad to be doing something that's more than just sitting around. ]
[ooc: Feel free to action it up by having someone drop by for a tattoo. Or ask general questions for video or action. Or go a completely different route! Up to you, I'm flexible!]

[But enough about that, if Anders gets going about the differences between Hogwarts and the Circles they'll be here for the next week. He turns instead to the message at hand.]
Tattoos, huh? Do these ones have secret clues, too?

Change colors depending on my mood? Glow in the dark? Lead me on treasure hunts? Ooh, that last one could be promising. Hm. You might be on to something...
[Kidding, kidding. This virgin skin of his is far too delicate for tattoos.]
I think yours would still be more interesting, given what you've said about them. I'm glad to see having them hasn't stopped you from spreading the love around to people who want a little body art of their own done.

You know, if you're uncommitted, I can always do something in henna. It's temporary - no needles and lasts a while on your skin before washing away.
[ Annnnyway. ]
I think my tattoos make me more curious about what people would choose to permanently put on their bodies since I didn't get that chance. To choose, I mean.
[ Even if she'd (allegedly) agreed to it, Shepherd still had the final say in what went on Jane's body. ]

[Facial tattoos like the Dalish, maybe? Or something saucy like a Rivaini pirate? Hm, he should ask Isabela if she has any suggestions for a beanpole mage, she might have some creative ideas.]
Actually... [Coming out of his reverie, Anders speaks in the manner of an afterthought.] I was a little curious if you take personal requests for sketches. Not necessarily for tattoos, just a picture. That someone could keep.
[He hadn't planned to ask this of Jane, but seeing her video had got him thinking in the wake of recent disappearances.]
no subject
[ Says the woman with Kurt Weller's name and occupation tattooed on her back.
She's surprised by his request, however, and more than a little flattered.]
Yeah, absolutely. I just need to have an idea of what or who you want me to sketch out.
no subject
No names, I promise.
[He likes Jane too much to bore her to death. Maybe they'll have to revisit the tattoo thing later on and give her something to really sink her artistic teeth into. Are tramp stamps still in vogue?]
How about a photograph of someone? I snapped a picture of a friend once--nothing special--but he's left Wonderland now. You know what they say, a picture's worth a thousand words. Could you work with that?
[His tone is light and the request casual, like he'd be fine either way if Jane declined, but the asking says what he doesn't in so many words--the photograph might not have been all that special, but the person in it is. He can live with pictures and mementos to remember Alistair by--that's way more than he has of some people--but he'd seen Jane's sketchbook. He'd seen the careful detail she'd put into each portrait, teasing out hidden depths with each pencil line.
Maybe it's corny. Call him a sap, but he can think of one person in Wonderland who might appreciate something physical they could hold in their hands.]
no subject
Yeah, absolutely. That's a lot easier than you just describing someone to me.
[ She feels for him and the fact that it's obviously someone he cared about quite a bit who's gone now. ]
What size portrait would you want? And do you want a drawing with pencils like in my sketchbook, or an actual painting?
no subject
It wouldn't have to be very big. If you were willing, I was thinking I could pass it on to a friend. Something unobtrusive she could hang on to. Or put on a wall, maybe.
[No offense to Alistair's boyish good looks, but a wall mural of his face might be a bit too much Alistair.]
I've always found paintings nice. Hm, do you think it'd be too funereal if it's someone you might not see again?
no subject
[ She pulls a piece of plain white printer paper that she uses to draw on and holds it up. ]
About this size?
[ At his question, she pauses to think, then lets out a breath, shaking her head. ]
No. Paintings are classic. And people still choose it now even it's more rare.

[Consider it an IOU Jane can cash in at anytime. Anders has always been a believer in repaying favors, and this is... not something he'd usually ask.
He's seen Jane's sketch work; if he's being honest, he'd be interested in seeing what she comes up with when working with paints. Something just as memorable as her tattoos, no doubt. That, more than anything else, sways his decision. He nods.]
All right, I'm sold. If it's not too much trouble, a paining from you would be fantastic. Should I send the picture to you now?
no subject
[ Said with a small, teasing smile. ]
I think I could have something like this done pretty fast for you.
[ Mostly because she runs on little sleep, even if she's sure that drives Kurt insane. ]
no subject
[Picking up his device, the video feed undergoes some twisting and turning acrobatics as he moves it around in an attempt to send her the image file. Lucky for them both, he's finding his way around this modern technology thing.]
I'm sending it to you right... [The clicking of buttons can be heard.] Wait, hold on, almost got it... Ah, there it is. Right now.
[The photo she'll find on her device is of a young, tawny-haired man lounging in the field during summertime. His pose, and his smile, are relaxed. If she's met his fellow Grey Warden and the future king of Ferelden around Wonderland, she'll recognize the young man as Alistair.]
Not sure he'd be all that enthused if I got this as a tattoo. Permanent ink rather says 'undying love'. A painting for one of his close companions is much better. Thank you again, Jane.
no subject
You're welcome. I'm actually really honored that you want me to do this.
[ And it's something she's sure she won't let him down over. There may be a lot of things in her life she's not sure about, but drawing and art don't fall into those categories. ]

[It's playfully meant, though, and he laughs, his smile losing some of the soberness that had colored his thoughts ever since he'd seen her video message and let them drift in more melancholy directions.
Ruminating on how many from Thedas there'd been in the beginning and how few are left now is always a mental rat's nest to try navigating.]
They say "out of sight, out of mind," but I figure it's not such a bad thing, having reminders to look at. Keeps us honest. I suppose you'd understand a thing or two about that.
[Her body is covered in permanent reminders--though maybe not for the better.]
no subject
[ She can't help looking at her tattoos when he says that and she gives a small, closed lipped smile. ]
Yeah. For better or worse, I guess.
[ There's Kurt's name on her back, and back home, there were days she was glad she couldn't see it. It felt like a burning reminder every single time she was with Oscar. ]
no subject
[But after the comment is out, he shrugs as if to say or not. He certainly can't speak to what wearing those puppies around is like.]
Maybe not so much here unless you have a white rabbit tattoo somewhere I haven't seen.
no subject
[ She smiles, though to show she's joking, mostly. ]
I'll reach out in a few days and give you an update. Does that work?
no subject
Being in no particular rush, he nods. A few days is more than fine.]
Just send me a line when you're ready. I understand perfection takes time--I'm sure that's an artistic credo or something.
