[Souji is sitting on the front stoop of the inn, looking around at the snow. His expression, while typically neutral, also shows a combination of excitement and pensiveness. He offers a tiny smile to the video feed.]

I think Kanji and I have to take responsibility for this event. It shouldn't be bad, though. Unless someone else's memories are mixed in, this was just a nice vacation.

[He falls silent for a couple of seconds, distracted, then addresses the network again.]

Would anyone mind helping me figure out what word we lost this time? I need to write it down.

[Minato did the same in going out to find Souji. Knowing that Souji and Kanji both shared this event meant they both lost something to it. Minato was more than determined to find out what it was. As nice of an event this was turning out to be so far, he still thought it was a little sad that even for nice memories, they had to lose something.

He gently touched his hand to Souji's shoulder before moving to sit next to him, offering the mug of hot chocolate he had in his other hand.]

I'll help.

[Souji knew already that Minato would, but Minato thought to just remind him again, like an extra bit of reassurance.]

[Souji accepts the mug and smirks at it.]

This is pretty indirect.

[He takes a drink and hands the mug back to Minato.]

[Not casually indirect? Aw. Subtleties, Minato had none when up against Souji. He took a sip as well before giving the mug back to Souji then.]

I could make it direct.

Too late.

[Souji smiled fully as he drank again, then held the mug between his hands for a moment, feeling how warm it was.]

...I'm kind of glad to have an event from home.

[There will be other opportunities, Seta Souji. Minato could mentally shake his fist then at the sky and whatever else.]

Can you tell me more about it?

[That way they could more easily figure out what Souji had been missing.]

Well, we went on a ski trip. [Souji makes a small gesture at the landscape.] We actually had to postpone it because I got sick.

You went on a lot more trips than we did.

[Or it sounded like it, anyway. But that was good for them though as there was more time to spend with friends that way. (And he would later come to understand the relationship between Souji and his IT versus Minato and SEES.)]

You all knew how to ski?

Pretty much. A couple of us were a little shaky, though.

How long were you there for?

[So far it seemed like Souji was remembering most of it. Aw, he didn't know Souji had so many hidden talents.]

Two days. On the second day, there was a snowstorm.

[...He probably should have mentioned that in his network broadcast, now that he thinks about it.]

[... Yeah. That could probably happen here.]

Did you get stuck in it?

Yeah. We had to take shelter in a shed.

Everyone? All you could do was wait it out then?

Just a few of us. But we ended up in the TV world after we got into the shed.

[Minato nodded, thinking that over. That TV world was everywhere.]

After that, you came back to the shed? Was the storm over?

Yeah, it was by then. We had to come back the next day, too, but it wasn't part of the trip.

What was that part for?

We had to go rescue Marie.

[He'd told Minato about Marie as one of his Velvet Room attendants--if she could be called that--and about what exactly what Marie turned out to be. He hadn't told him about the strange place where they'd found her inside the TV, though.]

But how did she end up in there? And where?

[And he asked because Marie was exactly that, a Velvet Room attendant of sorts and then more.]

She...ran away. I think she remembered what she was and what she was meant to so and it scared her.

[Minato could understand that. He nodded, thinking it over.]

... You remembered all of that.

[Then what could Souji and Kanji be missing? Clearly all of this wasn't lost, and it was pretty important too.]

[Souji nodded.]

I even remember the name of the place she ran to was the Hollow Forest.

[So it must not have been related to Marie, at least. Souji was glad about that.]

[Souji seemed to remember all the details without hesitation.]

What else did you do besides ski then?

[Souji thought about that for a moment.]

That night we all got together to talk and eat. Chie and Naoto got scared because we were--

[He faltered, frowning slightly.]

We were telling...

Telling...?

[Now that was a bit alarming. They were getting closer then to what Souji had lost, perhaps.]
