[Convalescing, and quietly going out of her mind with the boredom of being able to do nothing productive or even routine without sharp agony running through her. A more foolish man—as Rip has often been—might take the opportunity to point out that if she’d let him help her sooner, she might not have been stuck for so long. But even as drunk as he is, outside his door and now struggling just a touch to get his key in, Rip isn’t nearly that stupid. Not when things are finally going right.

At least until Peggy ushers him aside. He frowns rather petulantly even as he does as she says.]


I’d have had it in another second. [Merely a mumble as he stares into the hologram, eyes examining where the rat’s red dot falls on the map.] So far so good. Seems he’s busy with a bit of doggerel just now.

[Or rather more simply, just staying put.]
