Anyway, Lapis has been all projection in lieu of trying to contend with her own feelings on this, which is a departure for someone who tends to have more issues with being self-centered. Being actively reminded of her personal stake here is a bit more difficult -- although, of course, that's always what a lot of this was about anyway, even through her concern for Peridot. The lines between one and the other are murky. Lapis halts up, unsure how to respond to that without breaking anything open.
Still, it's good to also be reminded that there is that difference between them. Whatever the mechanics of it, she is more worried about Peridot than herself at the moment, after all. On some impulse Lapis gives up on whatever her hand was trying to do and puts her arm around Peridot to pull her closer. She likes having a body and being real and tangible and able to do things and perform complex interactions, and projection is still basically what she's running with today.]
