Location: Set in the middle of the French Quarter, Louisana, the Abattoir has barely changed since it was originally built during the early days of colonization. The three story brick building opens into a furnished courtyard used for entertaining guests and (frequent) parties. The home base of the Mikaelson siblings while they're in the city means there are rooms for each of them, and each private room is marked with the sign of who it belongs to two Fs, an E, two Ks, and a R. Those doors are locked when their owner isn't present (so Elijah, Finn and Rebekah's are permanently closed for obvious reasons).
The setting will remain serene for the most part. The Abattoir has always thrived when there are people present, so it will do it's best to draw you in. Maybe it's the sound of a Mikaelson party, fancy dress and booze abounding, or the sound of a parade lingering just outside the windows, whether it's for a wedding or a second line, it's hard to say. Everything sounds like a celebration, no matter what.
If you linger in the space too long, however, you might notice the way things seem to flicker around the edges. There might be a splash of blood on the floor or walls that disappears almost as suddenly as it was there. Maybe the sound of the brass band outside distorts just slightly, or the roar of the party turns to that of a shouting mob. By the end of the event, the building itself will be in complete disarray, alone and abandoned just as it had been for the last five years of the Mikaelsons' life. A cracked facade, waiting for someone to come and breath life back into it again.
