Merry Ewaymas, everyone! Are you enjoying your advent calendars? We sure hope so! After all, they weren’t free!
You see, the rest of this year’s Ewaymas is rather...unorthodox. Due to some, let’s say "budget cuts", in the memory department Wonderland just doesn’t have enough fuel to sustain itself, and something’s got to give! Confused? Let us explain it to you - in song! Take map and follow along!
On the first day of Ewaymas (12/13/19), Wonderland took from me:
The Forest and all of the trees!
Every last inch of the forest to the north of the mansion will vanish, leaving only a black void behind. If any characters have built anything in the forest, or if they lost a memory to Wonderland that caused something to appear in the forest, those things will still be there, floating in that black void. Anyone who enters will find there is no gravity there, and it is very cold, cold enough to make the winter air in the rest of Wonderland feel warm.
On the second day of Ewaymas (12/14/19), Wonderland took from me:
The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
All of the water in the ocean will vanish, adding to the void. If anyone has any boats at the docks, the docks will be the only thing tethering them in place. Whatever lurked at the bottom of the sea that used to drag down people who went out too far does not seem to be in that void, but do you want to take that chance?
On the third day of Ewaymas (12/15/19), Wonderland took from me:
Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
The void only extends from there, enveloping the beach and the docks. Without the docks to tether boats in place, they will float freely in this empty, cold space.
On the fourth day of Ewaymas (12/16/19), Wonderland took from me:
Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
The void creeps even closer, swallowing up the hedge maze on the northwest corner of the grounds. On the upside, it’s become significantly easier to solve, now that there’s no puzzle left at all.
On the fifth day of Ewaymas (12/17/19), Wonderland took from me:
ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
For the fifth day, something different - every single mirror in Wonderland, every single one, will turn pitch black. They will still hold a reflection (much like a scrying Mirror does), but they will no longer repair themselves when broken. In addition to this, all remaining Mirror versions of characters will appear on Real Side. They will not be able to cross through the blackened mirrors, and the only thing that they will know about the situation is that everything became very cold and dark, and then suddenly they were on Real Side. From now through endgame, Mirror Characters will remain on Real Side and they will have to co-exist with their Reals. The Mirror Side of Wonderland is no more.
On the sixth day of Ewaymas (12/18/19), Wonderland took from me:
So many fruit trees! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
Back outside! The orchard surrounding the vendors will vanish, though the vendors will still be there for the time being, giving the entire vendor bazaar a more ominous feeling as it is now surrounded by this eerie black void. The vendors will not tell you what is going on, no matter how much you tell them. They never tell anyone anything.
On the seventh day of Ewaymas (12/19/19), Wonderland took from me:
No more lake a-swimming! Six tons of fruit! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
Another unusually shaped void, this one closes in on the lizard shaped lake just to the east. Again, any boats anyone might have had in the lake will just float aimlessly in the void. At least no one was going swimming in December anyway, right? Additionally, this is the day when everyone’s advent calendar gifts begin to get a little more...unsettling.
On the eighth day of Ewaymas (12/20/19), Wonderland took from me:
Traumatic human chess! No more lake a-swimming! Six tons of fruit! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
One of the most historic places in Wonderland, the site of many human chess matches, is the next place to disappear into an empty void. All of the hills are now gone. Interestingly, the nearby Jabberwocky scar can be seen in the void, as a large white mark in the air. Unlike everything else in these voids, if you try to touch it, it will burn. We wouldn’t recommend it.
On the ninth day of Ewaymas (12/21/19), Wonderland took from me:
The flora and the fauna! Traumatic human chess! No more lake a-swimming! Six tons of fruit! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
This time, the entire garden will disappear into nothing, and so will any remaining animals or stray patches of grass between the missing pieces. All of them connect now into one massive void. Any structure that was player created will float along in the void (such as the greenhouse and the stables), but who knows how long they will be safe there? And again, if anyone has lost a memory to Wonderland that caused something to appear outside, it will remain in the void until that memory is returned to them (IF it is returned to them).
On the tenth day of Ewaymas (12/22/19), Wonderland took from me:
Somewhere dark and dingy! The flora and the fauna! Traumatic human chess! No more lake a-swimming! Six tons of fruit! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
That’s nearly everything outside now, but before it takes the last piece of Wonderland scenery, the void stretches underground and claims the caves. The outdoor exit is completely missing, and if someone attempts to go in via the basement entrance, it will only be a door to the black void itself, deep within it. By now Wonderland is more void than Wonderland, so it may be difficult to swim your way to safety.
On the eleventh day of Ewaymas (12/23/19), Wonderland took from me:
Shady backyard vendors! Somewhere dark and dingy! The flora and the fauna! Traumatic human chess! No more lake a-swimming! Six tons of fruit! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
Just in time to ruin your last minute holiday shopping, the vendors are finally swept away by the void along with all of their wares. They will have vanished, leaving nothing behind. As of the 23rd, there are no grounds left. Anything remaining outdoors is floating in the void.
On the twelfth day of Ewaymas (12/24/19), Wonderland took from me:
Endless magic closets! Shady backyard vendors! Somewhere dark and dingy! The flora and the fauna! Traumatic human chess! No more lake a-swimming! Six tons of fruit! ALLLLL OF THE MIIIIIIIRRORS! Hedges and their maze! Every grain of sand! The whole entire Ocean! And the Forest and all of the trees!
And finally, on the twelfth day of Ewaymas, anyone looking to use the magic closets is going to be deeply disappointed. Every magic closet will only open to a small black void with nothing in it. It will not give anyone anything. This includes not just room closets but hall closets, cupboards in the kitchen, the fridge, diners, clinics, anything where you can reach inside and imagine what you want to receive it. In the interest of not starving and dehydrating everyone, running water still works, and for now the dining room will still provide food if you sit down for a meal, though pickings will be slimmer and less accurate than they were previously. It’s as though Wonderland is perhaps, trying to stretch the food out to last.
Oh, but that only goes to the 24th! So what happens on the 25th?
Well...nothing. Nothing happens.
Perhaps that’s a little inaccurate. The decorations that have been hanging up all season vanish. Those stockings that everyone had? For the first year ever, they have nothing inside them. When they wake up on the 25th, all signs of holiday cheer are gone…but the void is still out there. There are still no grounds. Wonderland is confined to the mansion, as it will be on the 26th, and the 27th, and every day thereafter.

This goes for both new characters and re-apps so if you want to bring in a character for the final plot, get them in before the 24th! We will be processing applications daily until then though, so no need to wait for Sunday!
