002 ♋ Action
[ the reason that Karkat rationalizes that this has to be a dream is the sense of how it is too good to be true. he's in his hive, same location as always. the moons are shining brightly through the window and his Lusus sleeps off in the corner. why the beast is still a giant crab is unknown to him and just a reason that Karkat knows that this can't be reality. Alternia is barren, devoid of life. His hive his no longer on the planet's surface, but rather in the Medium. all that should be is a crater sized hole. but getting off of the couch and meandering to the front door shows him that yes, it is the dimly lit surface of his home planet.
not once since Sgrub started has Karkat truly slept. one hour in the span of about 610 and that is all. perhaps the odd feeling is just one of those "dream bubble" experiences that he has heard about. however, since reality isn't shifting, he doubts this and instead makes a journey up the stairs to the ablution chamber. maybe splashing some water on his face from the faucet will wake him up and he can go back to a place that still doesn't make any sense. it's upon drying his face with a towel that he finally takes a look in the reflection pane. ]
