+ Want to tear it right down and start all over! +

Good morning, Wonderland Storybrooke!

Bill has announced his latest building project, and now it's time to take everyone on an exciting journey to a whole new world! The bulletin board has the prelude, and this post will give you all the information you need about the two-for-one curse/event deal your characters will unhappily be suffering from between October 24 and October 28!

Day 0: October 23

At 8:14 PM a magical curse is cast, and thick purple fog will roll over Wonderland. There's no stopping it, and it will cover every last inch of the place. It lasts for exactly one minute, and everybody in Wonderland will fall asleep under its power.

Welcome to Storybrooke

The next day all of Wonderland has become a small town in Maine, governed by their not entirely trusty mayor, Regina Mills. Nobody knows how she came to power, or just how long she's had her job. It's just the way things have been, just like how the town's clock tower has always been stuck at 8:15.

The inhabitants of Wonderland have had their memories and abilities (be they magic or otherwise) ripped away from them. Names may be changed, and people who weren't quite human will find themselves human for the duration of the event. In short, everybody has been given an entirely new life: A job, a home; all the important details necessary to keep a small town running.

And while a character's new life may have echoes of their old one, nobody actually remembers Wonderland, let alone their existence before it. As far as they're concerned, they were born in Storybrooke, and will spend their entire lives here. Nobody new ever arrives, nobody old ever leaves; any attempt to go over the town line will end badly, so best not to try at all.

Day 1: October 24

Quaint as the small town may look at first glance, life in Storybrooke is a far cry from idyllic. In fact, it almost seems as if everybody's personality or circumstances have been adjusted a little to prevent them from getting their happy endings (Whatever that might mean to each individual character). A few particularly unlucky individuals might even spend their days locked away in the Storybrooke Asylum beneath the hospital.

Yet on the night of the first day, after living out what seems to be the latest in a line of unhappy days that never change, the clock tower will strike 8:16. Have the rusted old innards worked themselves out, or is something else happening?

Day 2-3: October 25-26

Over the next days, things will suddenly improve. After having been stuck in a rut for so long, people will now find themselves with new confidence, and will finally be able to make a change in their lives.

In addition any passive abilities (enhanced senses, fighting skills, etc) of their forgotten lives will begin to return, though the knowledge necessary to use them to their full extent won't.

Day 4-5: October 27-28

At 8:15 PM on the fourth day, a pulse of energy will eminate from seemingly nowhere. It will continue to spread until it reaches the boundaries of the town. The curse has been broken, and everybody's memories of Wonderland and their true homes have been restored.

There is still a catch, however: All those years in Storybrooke won't fade easily, and characters will be stuck with two sets of memories. So who are they really? Snow White, or Mary Margaret? Their Storybrooke self, or whoever came before? Or are they both?

Aftermath: October 29

By October 29 Storybrooke has turned back into Wonderland. Any fake memories implanted by the curse will lose their prominence. They will be like every other memory of an event, and no longer cause confusion.

Annnd that's it, that's the schedule! You'll find a comment for further questions below, as always. Please also consider adding your character to the TOWN REGISTRY for the sake of a better overview.

That is all, have fun ruining your characters' happiness in new and refreshing ways, and enjoy your day!

~Mouette

John Blake -> Blake Thomas

[personal profile] oversight 2014-10-23 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
For this event, John Blake will be Blake Thomas, a former police officer turned town drunk.

See, things started out great and he was a model officer for a long time. He got along well with the other officers and the community, was well-respected individual with lots of local involvement. And then one day, after a particularly unfortunate encounter (details pending — open to plotting with anyone on this), Blake was inexplicably injured and could no longer enforce the law. Rumor has it that whatever happened involved the death of a juvenile, but beyond that, details remain scarce and there's no guarantee that's even the truth.

Over the years he's spiraled out of control: drinking, occasional homelessness, nights in the drunk tank, etc. Generally speaking, if he's around and drunk, he's being (somewhat) harmlessly belligerent. On the rare occasion he's sober, you might get some decent conversation out of him, but don't be surprised if he wanders off in the middle of it.

ANYWAY, if you're looking for CR, let me know and we can work something out. o/

Blake, Blakey Blakey Blake, Will usually advises kids going through a lot of hormonal changes and as such isn't THAT prepared for a run down ex-officer, but maybe he can provide some council over a hot dog to mitigate some of that alcohol :|

Oh man, I would love that. 8'D Although, I'm not sure how much Blake would like it, but I sort of feel like this is something he needs.

Just acquaintances, then? No previous interaction before all of this? I'm game for them knowing each other or not. /o/
glumshoe: i should cut them off and not shove them down people's throats (they just let me hear "things")

[personal profile] glumshoe 2014-10-23 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
I imagine Will would do it initially out of pity, spotting him shuffling around, and goes to buy him a burger and brings it to him unprompted, but after that it happens a few more times and it becomes something of a routine for them whenever they cross paths. Will buys him something and counsels him a bit, but mostly is there to listen to Blake talk bc Blake doesn't have many people who'll do that.

Oh, Will, you know not what you do. He'll probably make NO SENSE. l m a o

I love it. So exciting~

Are you planning on doing a post, by chance? I'm trying to decide whether I need to post one or not.

I WANT CR. Either with Tasha (old friends maybe?) or maybe something with Hayley? Because she'd like him. She'd bring him coffees in the morning or something. >.> She gets the spiraling thing.
oversight: ([-] stunned)

[personal profile] oversight 2014-10-23 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'd totally be down with either (or both if we're not buried)! He'd probably be belligerent with Tasha and totally fine with Hayley. lol

[personal profile] lost_labonair 2014-10-23 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
I am fine with both! I'm looking forward to expanding some of Hayley's CR anyway. Tasha will just be belligerent back and him and Hayley might be adorable. >.>

jemma is the daughter of an officer!! and/or also if you wanted people for the ~incident we could talk about simmons or kevin? maybe they were there for it or something. or he hurt one of them or idk what!
oversight: by: heretics (dw) ([±] not great taste)

[personal profile] oversight 2014-10-23 06:15 am (UTC)(link)
Hell yeah! We could totally do something with that. Maybe he did something bad, idk. It's possible things got blown out of proportion. But I'm also not beyond him actually accidentally killing a kid. Could be a friend of either Kevin or Jemma, and maybe one of them was there too?
conscientiae: (:) t: excited about talking!!)

[personal profile] conscientiae 2014-10-25 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
hm, i think it depends on how long ago it was and how old you want them to be. kevin is ~18, jemma is 27. so whatever age you want to traumatize a kid at!!!

i like the idea of them being a witness and then they just never talk about it really. if you want to make it extra secret then the fact that they were a witness could've been kept out of the press because they were a kid. OR also it could've been blown out of proportion and kevin/jemma was the victim but blake was stopped before he hurt them. IDK SO MANY OPTIONS i like all of them.

remember too jemma's dad is a cop if you wanted to factor that in.
oversight: by: heretics (dw) ([±] not great taste)

[personal profile] oversight 2014-10-25 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
OMG, ALL THE IDEAS.

I think it had to have been more than 5 years ago, so that makes it a little more difficult to fit Jemma into the "kid" category, but there's a chance I can always strong-arm Lauren into giving me some cop!Coulson angles to play there. Might even be able to push it out to like... 7 or 8 years, which would make her close to juvenile age.

/rubs chin

But with Kevin, it'd have to be closer to 5 years, I'd think. And he could be a silent witness, definitely. OH! Or, haha, maybe he could be that one witness that could exonerate Blake of whatever wrong-doing he might have been accused of, but because he was a kid someone refused to let Kevin testify and thus things go bad.

MORE OPTIONS! Idk which works better for you, but we can always massage them a bit to suit our needs. 8'D
conscientiae: (:( ? not sure about that)

[personal profile] conscientiae 2014-10-25 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
kevin sounds like it'd be easier! HAHA oh god. awkward times in storybrooke. maybe the prosecutor arranged it so kevin couldn't testify. nothing like seeing a guy around town and knowing that you could've saved him from that fate if you weren't 12/13 at the time....

I wonder if it would be possible that he and Cas are old friends? :|a Cas works at the general store and he might sneak Blake some snacks or something if he comes by. No booze, though. You have a problem, dude.
oversight: (Default)

[personal profile] oversight 2014-10-23 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd totally be down with that! I don't know how receptive Blake'll be if he's drunk when that stuff happens, but maybe the previous relationship will help him not be a butt about charity. 8D

How long have they known each other? Blake is gonna be 30. Maybe they know each other from school or Blake coming into the convenience store when he was still a cop?
freewill: (fought to believe the impossible)

[personal profile] freewill 2014-10-23 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Cas is in his 30's too, so it could be they sort of knew each other from school, but moreso from when he came in as a cop!
