Good morning, Wonderland Storybrooke!

Bill has announced his latest building project, and now it's time to take everyone on an exciting journey to a whole new world! The bulletin board has the prelude, and this post will give you all the information you need about the two-for-one curse/event deal your characters will unhappily be suffering from between October 24 and October 28!

Day 0: October 23

At 8:14 PM a magical curse is cast, and thick purple fog will roll over Wonderland. There's no stopping it, and it will cover every last inch of the place. It lasts for exactly one minute, and everybody in Wonderland will fall asleep under its power.

Welcome to Storybrooke

The next day all of Wonderland has become a small town in Maine, governed by their not entirely trusty mayor, Regina Mills. Nobody knows how she came to power, or just how long she's had her job. It's just the way things have been, just like how the town's clock tower has always been stuck at 8:15.

The inhabitants of Wonderland have had their memories and abilities (be they magic or otherwise) ripped away from them. Names may be changed, and people who weren't quite human will find themselves human for the duration of the event. In short, everybody has been given an entirely new life: A job, a home; all the important details necessary to keep a small town running.

And while a character's new life may have echoes of their old one, nobody actually remembers Wonderland, let alone their existence before it. As far as they're concerned, they were born in Storybrooke, and will spend their entire lives here. Nobody new ever arrives, nobody old ever leaves; any attempt to go over the town line will end badly, so best not to try at all.

Day 1: October 24

Quaint as the small town may look at first glance, life in Storybrooke is a far cry from idyllic. In fact, it almost seems as if everybody's personality or circumstances have been adjusted a little to prevent them from getting their happy endings (Whatever that might mean to each individual character). A few particularly unlucky individuals might even spend their days locked away in the Storybrooke Asylum beneath the hospital.

Yet on the night of the first day, after living out what seems to be the latest in a line of unhappy days that never change, the clock tower will strike 8:16. Have the rusted old innards worked themselves out, or is something else happening?

Day 2-3: October 25-26

Over the next days, things will suddenly improve. After having been stuck in a rut for so long, people will now find themselves with new confidence, and will finally be able to make a change in their lives.

In addition any passive abilities (enhanced senses, fighting skills, etc) of their forgotten lives will begin to return, though the knowledge necessary to use them to their full extent won't.

Day 4-5: October 27-28

At 8:15 PM on the fourth day, a pulse of energy will eminate from seemingly nowhere. It will continue to spread until it reaches the boundaries of the town. The curse has been broken, and everybody's memories of Wonderland and their true homes have been restored.

There is still a catch, however: All those years in Storybrooke won't fade easily, and characters will be stuck with two sets of memories. So who are they really? Snow White, or Mary Margaret? Their Storybrooke self, or whoever came before? Or are they both?

Aftermath: October 29

By October 29 Storybrooke has turned back into Wonderland. Any fake memories implanted by the curse will lose their prominence. They will be like every other memory of an event, and no longer cause confusion.

I'm assuming that all the actual Storybrooke characters go back to season 1 situations and memories! For that sake, do they go back to pre-first episode of the TV show before Emma came to town, or somewhere in the timeline of the first season?

Or is it an au entirely where they're just cursed into lives like they've always been there? (I'm asking more so based on what MM would know about Emma, and Henry's relationship to Emma and Regina, etc.)

She will be a young tech admin for the school, working on computers and getting people logins/clearing up viruses and the like. As hobbies, she would be involved in any kind of D&D shenanigans, running a few games of her own. Charlie's a friendly face to all tbh. She's roomies with Jo Harvelle in an apartment, and ANYONE CAN BE A BESTIE. Or an ex, if there are any ladies out there who want to have a history with Charlie. I'm totally open to anything else!

OH HELL YEAH STORYBROOKE AU EVENT this is mm's jam.

And by that, I quite literally mean that Mary Margaret will go right back to being MM. Regular, ole, unhappy-because-something-is-missing-in-her-life MM. She is a fourth grade teacher, who does more charity work than she really knows what to do with, primarily working at the hospital as a volunteer to look after the patients. She is content enough with her life, except the fact something is missing, particularly in her love life. She won't give up hope, can't give up hope, but things aren't looking up for her.

My other girls are all going to be in high school. Does that count as unhappy enough? I don't have a whole lot for them other than some simple facts. xD Allison (Kathryn) will be a sophomore, average grades average life nothing exciting or interesting. She'll basically go back to pre-season one of Teen Wolf, if anyone is aware of that. Annabeth (Anna) will be a senior, but is having a lot of relationship issues with Nico and Percy WOMP. Other than that, she's totally open! Mikasa (Melissa) will be a freshman and will be an orphan and no one really knows what happened to her parents but they know she was there and that no one really talks about it. Ever. You really don't talk about it. She's known as a quiet and troubled child but no one can really manage to get under her skin except for these two boys she won't stop following...

Okay here I go. I am not good at imagination, so anyone with suggestions will be showered with singing and lute playing.

Souji is now Narukami Yu (because I either have no imagination or an awesome sense of irony), a high school student. His parents don't ever seem to be around because they love work more than life or each other or clearly him. Although he gets along with folks, he has no real friends and is always kind of distant from everyone. He's lonely, but since he's used to that, he's got a subconscious fear of changing anything, because trying to get close to people might just make it worse. So he just drifts along going through the motions with no real aspirations for the short- or long-term.

For Kaneki I have zero ideas. His canon is backwards and instead of a happy ending, he starts out with a decent life and then everything goes horribly downhill. So...halp? ;o;

Um. At least he would have one day where he can eat regular food? Be normal? Maybe? His "destiny" is still for everything to go wrong, not all stories have happy endings, so maybe working in reverse would be fine?

GOLD will be... Mr. Gold, assuming he gets to keep his original Storybrooke identity. He's your friendly neighborhood pawnbroker, loan shark, and sorta owns the town. Generally speaking, everyone probably knows him or knows of him and most people know he's NOT TO BE MESSED WITH, but when you're in a bind, he's the one you go to. He's ruthless, mean, nasty, and basically if you think the Gold in Wonderland is a little shady and a bit scary, he's ten times worse now. All those friendly smiles are just a front to get one step closer to absolute power. :) Suck it, Mayor Mills.

ROCKET, on the other hand, will be a human for the event. A low class petty thief who works part-time fixing electronics at some busted old shop and generally doesn't have much going for him. He'll be lacking his confidence, so while he'll be loud-mouthed and boisterous, he'll be physically and emotionally unable to back up any threat he might make.

Bruce is gonna be called Robert Greene while in Storybrooke, and he'll be a school teacher. He's kind of a loner so not that much is different on that regard, and he spends most of his time either at school or at home. He gets along with people in general, he just... doesn't get that close to many of them - if any.

His background story is pretty much the same. Loving mom gets killed by insane father, he gets taken away... or runs away. Just disappears. Point is Bruce (Robert) can't even remember the man anymore.

So yeah, toss me a comment if you have any ideas or want to set up any plans!

Thor / Thad is college-aged and thoroughly wasting his potential. c: Is Bruce a high school student, elementary school, what? come join the legion of people disappointed in my kid??? I mean whatever level Bruce teaches at, plenty of room for him to have taught Thad at some point.

ALRIGHT THIS GOT SUPER LONG so each of my characters is getting their own comment.

Given James' obsession with keeping his memories when he goes home so they can fix things and stop the war and save his friends, the worst thing that the curse could do to him is take away all his memories. He'll wake up on the first morning of the event in the local hospital with absolutely no memory of anything before waking up. He won't know who he is or where he's from or anything about himself at all. Someone found him collapsed in the woods (and if anyone wants to be the person who found him, gimme a shout) but he won't remember what he was doing out there at all. He'll spend the first couple days in the hospital, where it'll become apparent that 1) he's not physically hurt (so it's psychogenic amenesia) and 2) he's capable of making new memories (so no anterograde amnesia) and has retained most general knowledge that has no connection to him personally. After that though, it'll be discovered that he's supposedly Robert Lyon, Coach Lyon's son, and she'll be so thrilled to know her little Bobby's safe...except, he doesn't remember her at all. Oops. Now that they know who he is though and that he has a legal guardian, he'll be discharged from the hospital and be trying to figure out who he is and why he doesn't remember anything at all. The second the curse breaks he'll be looking for Sirius and Lily ASAP and starting to freak out because OH MERLIN HIS MEMORIES GOT COMPLETELY WIPED.

LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT YOUR CHARACTER TO HAVE KNOWN STORYBROOKE JAMES – It doesn't make much of a difference to me since he's not going to remember anyone and his memories aren't going to come back before the curse is broken.

The Once-ler's Storybrooke counterpart will be Owen Lerman - he's the town's resident tailor. His shop is called T. O. Lerman's and no one is entirely sure what the T is supposed to stand for exactly. He makes original pieces by hand and also does alterations and all the other things one would expect from a tailor. His specialty is handmade suits, but he'll make or alter pretty much anything you ask him to. He probably had big dreams of being an actual fashion designer but got laughed at his whole life and never actually made it out of his small town. Sigh.

For anyone who knows the Once-ler though, this is secretly a good story for him, even if he won't think so in the moment – it means he never got super greedy and never rose all the way to the top and ruined everything in his path. I blame his friendship with Regina. ANYWAY, to make up for it, he's going to be one of the first ones to totally lose it when the curse breaks, since his real memories will fill him with lots of invasive and horrible guilt! Even though all the trees in Storybrooke are obviously still there, but he'll still know he did something totally unforgivable and spend the last day and a half crying in the forest and trying to live in a treehouse he found (so if your kid had a treehouse in the woods, uh. ...Sorry. It's occupied.)

Tohru's Storybrooke counterpart is going to be Tori Tamoto and that last name is literally just the kanji of her name backwards and she works as a waitress at the the local diner/pie place/idk whatever it is Ned's Storybrooke guy will inevitably run. However, her life is all kinds of horrible! She had to drop out of high school recently because her mother just died not long ago and she doesn't have any family left in town. She's working at the diner to make ends meet and is the most cheerful person ever, but...the truth is, she's actually trying to live in a tent out in the woods. And she's been there for a few months now whoops.

She's been trying really really really hard to keep this all a secret, but it's hard. She has to discreetly find places to shower (is there like a gym or a storybrooke YMCA?? If not then she probably tries to wash up in the bathroom at the diner or sneaks into the highschool to use the locker room showers) and drag her laundry across town (or figure out how to wash it in the woods) and life is just hard. But she doesn't want anyone to worry about her! And she couldn't possibly bother anyone by asking to stay with them, so she'll just. Save up until she can afford to live somewhere else. This isn't a bad plan at all. Nope.

Cordelia who is still pretty new here overall will be Regan Run because I wanted to name her after one of King Lear's other daughters and hah Run is like Chase I'm so funny....anwyays, she'll be running a local theater/one of the starring actresses there. She used to have money but lost it years ago and her passion doesn't pay well but you know, that's how life goes sometimes. Okay, so she had hoped acting would prove to be a little more lucrative than it has been, but still. Her parents are long gone, having fled the country due to tax evasion. FUN.

So if anybody wants to know this version of her/work with her/date her/etc, let me know. Or be an ex too -- as I imagine she's dated a few guys but she's pretty picky so most of it never goes anywhere.

Armin (Arthur) is a quiet high-schooler, very bookish and often bullied. He has asthma, a poor constitution, and no friends. He lives with his grandfather, since his parents died in a plane crash when when he was very young. He reads the books that they wrote about travel to comfort himself, and dreams of the world beyond Storybrooke, but has never had the courage to leave. His loneliness is poignant, as he feels that somewhere, somehow, he's missing something that he once had...

Michael will go by Michael Eluvies while in Storybrooke. He'll be working as an anger management therapist, and hold weekly group meetings for those who just need to get it all off their chests.

I'm going to leave his history generically similar to his real one, twin brother that he has issues with, and is trying to work things out with. Dad left early on, and all that.

Panne (Velvet) is an eccentric naturalist that lives on the outskirts of town. Her house is basically a small farm, where she grows all the food that she doesn't scavenge in the woods, and keeps a very impressive hutch of prize-winning rabbits. Nobody really knows who she is, or where she came from, but she likes it that way. People rarely bother her, and children like to spread rumors about her being a shape-shifting witch that is actually a rabbit in disguise.

He's a trust fund kid, and lol no he doesn't have a job. A job is beneath him, so instead he does his art and tries to sell it. Whether it's good or not is completely up to everyone's opinion, but clearly he thinks it's amazing.

Totally still a smug, pretentious jerk. I'm sure plenty of people don't like him. He's definitely one of those who throws his money around to get out of trouble. I'm down with anyone who wants to be an enemy, friend (he might have like two or something who can stand him idk??) or any exs that he's probably been a super ass to because that's how he do. I am up for anything!

Still related to Rebekah and Elijah, still probably fighting with them a bunch, but hey at least he hasn't stuck them in coffins for decades in this life.

► There was a time when Mort Howards did not work at The Green Land, that run-down flower shop near the cemetery, but hardly anybody seems to remember those days. Wasn't he a local teacher? Some scientist? Journalist? Didn't he used to run around with a miner's hat? Well. Guess it hardly matters in the end, because his story all comes down to That Fateful Accident some four years ago.

They had to know what else was out there, they just did. Mort and his twin brother hatched the plan, and their two best friends tagged along. They got into the car, raced right past the town line and... all the way off the road, as the car got out of control. The resulting accident left Mort with a severe throat injury, rendering him incapable of speech. It left the other three dead.

Unable to move on Mort now spends his days in isolated silence, selling near-wilted flowers, and hovering from grave to grave. For all the time he spends with the dead, he might as well be one of them himself...

→ On the first day he will glumly sell flowers, and mourn by the graves of Tom Redwood, A. Swanson, and Clarence P. Howards.
→ On the second, third and fourth day he will cautiously venture further into town, maybe go see a movie, or sit in a coffee shop and browse job ads. He will still spend quality grave time at the cemetery, but it will be slightly less than before.
→ On the evening of the fourth & the fifth day the colliding memories will drive him a bit... ehhhh unstable, and he will basically dig up all three graves to see who or what is really in them.

INTEGRA HELLSING; Integra doesn't really have a happy ending. She ends up old and alone (and a virgin). So how about we make her happy! She'll be a a banker, rich and reserved. She keeps her personal life to herself/ She's all about small-town negotiations and isn't one to shy away from charities but she's got a dark side. MR. GOLD is her business partner. A loan shark who keeps other banks from ever forming and makes sure people pay the bank. She's got an adopted son EREN. For some reason buying a child was a lot easier than making one, apparently, but she has one and she adores him. I would like her to have a family though somehow so any takers?!

HANGE ZOE; Hanna will be the high-school science teacher and doubles as a professor for the community college (gotta love that funding for crazy research)! She's quirky, loves teaching kids more about ways you could kill yourself if you don't respect science, and being at home with her handsome man. She's friendly as always. This girl needs a lot of happy!

very bare bones, but hopefully it's enough to entice/give an idea of what I'm thinking! my guys are already relatively unhappy in game, so, lets spruce this up with some happiness.

CORA is obviously going to be human. I think I'll be lame and change her name to Cordelia Halliwell, just because Cora can be a shorter version of Cordelia according to a baby name site. since she's 18 now, I'll be having her set off for college. her family is alive, but perhaps her relationships with them will not be as great as they were in canon. she has a future, how crazy is that?

LUKE is new. but! he'll probably be a thief and spend a few nights in jail as, you know, he has sticky fingers. as he's pretty athletic, he'll be somewhat of a jock and someone who is a prized athlete who many may think should try out for the Olympics! he's also pretty hot and possibly a ladies man, so, if you want some, come get it. since Hermes is absent in canon, he'll be some super rich dude in this particular universe and probably head some telecommunications company or something like that. May will either be in the asylum or completely sane. his name is probably Lucas Castellan — I like to headcanon normal!Luke hates being called Lucas, so. why not.

mostly just looking for some relationships to build (shippy or not — new or old) and mess up for this! I don't really want to do an open post as I prefer to tag in. but the aftermath will leave them very unhappy, so. :3

WHAT'S UP, STORYBROOKE?

→ Emma Swan's information is forthcoming and I will add it on here shortly because it requires some coordination with canonmates, but as it stands she'll be serving as town deputy alongside Sheriff Graham Humbert.

→ Jo Harvelle (Beth Williams) will be working at the local diner as a waitress along with Tohru's counterpart. She shares an apartment with her bestie Charlie and is an only child without any local family to call her own, something that has never managed to sit well with her. Though she's made up for the lack of family with an abundance of friends, she's spent most of her adult life trying to track down her missing father, who as far as she knows is her only living relative. No luck so far, but that hasn't stopped her from trying. Her greatest aspiration is to get out of Storybrooke and travel, being a huge fan of the "anywhere but here" game, but nobody ever leaves, and for some reason she just never gets around to breaking that trend.

→ Angel/Angelus (Liam O'Donnell) is one of the town's most well-known debaucherers, spending most of his time at the local bar and with plans to break every heart in Storybrooke by the time he's thirty-five if his track-record is any indication. He's well-off thanks to having a rich father who happened to be a successful businessman, but who mysteriously died of unknown causes after Liam came of age. He lives off his inheritance in a big house near the edge of town, and though he appears to be a creature of vice, nothing ever seems to give him anything more than a very fleeting sort of satisfaction, leaving him feeling empty, unfulfilled and prone to fits of rage and picking bar fights.

→ Lily Evans (Rose Stevens) is a senior at the local high school who, by all accounts, has had a pretty easy time of it -- she's friendly, popular, and makes straight As, though she's notoriously a perfectionist and a tiny bit of a control freak. She divides her free time between working part-time at the library and volunteering at the local hospital, where she'll be looking in on and worrying over a certain amnesia patient who happens to be a former classmate of hers. :c

→ Rebekah Mikaelson (Rachel Michaels) is a spoiled rich girl who's been living with her brothers, one of whom recovered from their parents' untimely death and went on to become a doctor while the other lounges about the mansion all day and occasionally works on paintings that nobody will ever buy. She considers herself something of a gifted matchmaker, but while she seems to be able to help friends find happiness just fine, she's been unable to find any for herself, determined to marry for both money and love but instead finding herself with a string of exes who either turn out to be something other than they first claimed, or mysteriously vanish as though they've been run off (or worse).

ADDENDUM

Emma will be one of the very few people who will not be cursed due to the fact that she was never cursed in canon, but she will be waking up in the spare room at Mary Margaret's apartment on the first morning of the event regardless. At first, she'll think that they've all gone home, until she starts seeing people from Wonderland hanging around, and she and Regina both realize that this isn't exactly the Storybrooke they know...

I'll be doing an open log for her on the first day of the event to cover most of her major activities throughout, and she'll undoubtedly be tagging into a bunch of things since she'll be investigating. This means that she won't be Graham's deputy, but she'll still be checking in at the station early on since she'll gravitate towards it as home base.

Peter will be going by Andrew Bell during this event. He's a post-vocational school mechanic / tow truck driver without a whole lot of ambition. His mother passed away a few years ago (as far as he knows), and he's kept pretty much to himself ever since. He's always been known as being pretty polite, though, and he'll do what he can to get you a good deal on auto parts & service. He's got a scruffy look about him, a lower middle class look that doesn't make him an appealing guy to bring home to your parents, but it doesn't bother him. He's never been a fan of people who judge based on looks anyway.

I'd like to get him a girlfriend! Someone he's been seeing long term, someone who wouldn't care about the way people judge him, someone he could be head over heels over and possibly thinking about proposing to.

I'd also like to get him a mentor, someone older that helped him get over his mother's death.

Also, a bff or a rival would be awesome!

Ughhh, I wasn't going to bring Lana off hiatus for the event, but now I kind of want to ask...

IDK how old Peter/Andrew is, but if he wouldn't mind a 17-year-old-but-totally-mature-for-her-age girlfriend who cusses a lot and maybe shoplifts every so often, the offer is there..

Caroline will be Caroline White, married to Jesse Pinkman White. High school sweethearts and SO TOTES IN LOVE they got married as soon as it was legal. Unfortunately, as what so often happens with young naive love, all of their big dreams and ideas about their awesome married life... Didn't pan out. The more formative years of their life after high school changed Caroline, and the real desires of her heart became clearer as she matured from the simple somewhat shallow girl to a young woman who realized she was meant for and capable of so much more.

She's stuck in a dead-end job at the High School that she hates to pay the bills after Jesse's failed art career. Her relationship with her husband is loveless, though not abusive or destructive, and on rare days they can still spend time together as friends when they can put aside their mutual resentment. But mostly they avoid each other to avoid fights and Caroline puts on a very happy face to the public, insisting that their marriage is just fine and Jesse's doing just great and she's doing wonderful.

She's not. They're not. But she keeps up the facade as best as she can.

Caroline was prom queen her senior year, a cheerleader, and very popular. She works at the school, having taken a lower position than that she applied for due to her lack of work experience. She's an "administrative assistant" with no real power and a boss that doesn't take any of her ideas seriously. Mostly she answers calls from parents and makes coffee and copies and never has any real input. SHE HAS NO CONTROL OVER HER LIFE aside from the false persona and friendships she maintains.

Meanwhile, as she's silently drowning in her life, she's tempted by one Nicholas Klaus Michaels who sees right through her act. She's determined to remain faithful to Jesse, even though the connection between her and the more successful artist has already caused her to betray her husband in her heart.

Her business will be a Community Advocacy office, helping those who may not be able to help themselves. She'll be making sure everyone has a roof over their head and food - even helping people find jobs if they needed it. Basic essentials necessary for living.

Kate Bishop works for/with her (because let's be real, the idea of being someone's boss is kinda terrifying). Totally interested in previous friendships/people that might have come to her for help with things or anything along those lines - open to suggestions/everything. She's definitely a workaholic dealing with sadness and people's struggles on a daily basis can wear a person down since she's the type that would want to help everyone even if it wasn't feasible. She lives above the office so she can also work almost 24/7 - womp womp.

→ Ned (Frederick Kuchenbäcker*) is your average, friendly-but-slightly-downtrodden fellow, who would prefer to be called 'Fred.' He runs the local home cookin' eatery down off Main Street and his pies are the best in the county (not that you'd know the difference, since no one leaves this place). For ease his restaurant will be called The Pie Hole, a restaurant he inherited from his mother after she died, though it serves more than just dessert.

He employs a few of the local young folk as servers and feels generally unfulfilled because his love life is in shambles and he tends to drive away prospective girlfriends simply because he is incapable of opening up to people. Also, he has a weird fascination with dead things and practices taxidermy in his spare time the next Norman Bates???. What's that about.

1st Day: Business as usual. Morose and mopey. Stuffing a dead bird or two, you know. That old chestnut.
2nd-3rd Days: 'Fred' grows oddly uncomfortable with his hobby and ventures out into the social scene to try flirting with women. Where will that lead him? Nobody knows...
4th-5th Days: Neurotic tendencies come to a head and he has an emotional meltdown about meat, his preoccupation with both dead things and pie, and his crippling loneliness. Probably tears the diner kitchen apart looking for answers that aren't there.

He has been dating his girlfriend Beth (Formerly Kate Bishop) for about two years now and he couldn't be happier. Plus, his best friend is Beth's brother, Will (Formerly Billy Kaplan) and two tighter bros didn't exist. Over the event, poor Derek will start to get very confused feelings for Will - especially since he was sure he was straight until a few days ago. But Will... he's suddenly more than his best friend and frankly, that scares him. Someone help the poor confused boy out?

Bigby is now Max Wolfe Storybrooke's well loved Elementary School Gym Teacher. Max loves kids and has a way with them, charming them with an easy grin. His one secret is that he's dating Mary Margaret - something that's looked down on at the school. He's really fallen for her and thinks it's time to take their relationship out from behind closed doors but things aren't really going that smoothly. Anyone want to be Max's pal and help him with his lady problems?

Peter is now Gareth Smittywick, a strange boy who lives close to the town border. He doesn't have many friends and he has a strange obsession with rats. His house is filled with them and it isn't unusual to see him carrying a few in his pockets when he comes into the town proper. Anyone want to try and be friends or you can be the sort that makes fun of him - Gareth is used it by now.
