[Souji spent the first day of the event scouring the inn and the surrounding area to see to what extent Wonderland had tried to recreate it. Right down to the seals over some of the doors, the inn itself is almost perfect. Almost.
There's no better word than "moping" for what he spent the rest of yesterday doing, but now it's the second day and he feels up to addressing the network. And after a day of watching James and Sirius completely flounder at things like wearing ayukata robe properly and using chopsticks and sleeping on a futon, he thinks he probably needs to. Everyone is being subjected to his memory and he can at least offer some...cultural assistance to those who might want it.]
This is my event. [Gotta start somewhere.] This is the Amagi Inn and the town down the hill is Inaba. It's too bad you can't get to it--it's nice there.
[For Souji, this is rambling, so he gets back on track.]
I know most people in Wonderland right now aren't Japanese. If you need someone to explain how to do things here, I don't mind answering questions.
...Though it doesn't really matter, I guess. [It's not like there's any penalty for stabbing your food with your chopsticks, even if it's kind of impolite.]

[action forever]
But, of course, that sort of thing doesn't stop one from being universally rude. So Souji's just about ended his message when a big black dog lumbers in, pants happily at Souji for a moment-- and then shakes off his wet coat all over the room. By the time he's done, he's changed back, and only his hair's stayed wet.]
Souji! The girls' time just started. And I know James-- [Who's lagging behind but most certainly on his way back as well.] --is all engaged and whatnot, but the two of us are two strapping young men, eh? What do you say?
[If the implications of his words aren't enough, his eyebrows are waggling about like excited caterpillars.]
[action]
[Except no, Sirius ran ahead of him at the last moment so James missed his actual words. What he heard was Padfoot, soaking wet, shaking off in their room. When James appears in the doorway his hair is still so wet it's almost flat against his head and his yukata is a little askew, but at least he remember which side crossed over which this time.]
If you got my bed all wet, I swear to Merlin you're going to wake up floating in the bath tomorrow morning.
[He's clearly not that upset, based on the grin on his face. Though, he is wondering if those futon things can float (but he supposes he could enchant it to do so, if he really had to).]

The last time that happened [he says happened because he hadn't been trying to watch girls bathe] I got a bunch of buckets thrown at me.
[Why had they even had those in there with them? And so many.]
It's probably not a good idea.
[Likewise, sneaking into a girls' room at night is also not a good idea, in his experience. You end up with scary girls.]
no subject
Ohh, as if we couldn't take them, if it came to that. Not that it will.
[Sirius reaches out and adjusts James' yukata as one might fix a necktie. He probably makes the askewness worse, but that's not the point.]
You've got your invisibility cloak with you, right mate?
no subject
Take who now? And, hm...
[He looks out into the room they're in, which has none of their personal belongings really aside from whatever they had on them when the event began.]
...Maybe? I haven't really looked. [But then he raises an eyebrow at both of them.] Why? What're you two planning?
no subject
Suicide.
[Souji is pretty sure that's what Sirius's plan is if they go through with it. There is no way, in his experience, something like that won't go terribly, terribly wrong. Just saying girls look good in bathing suits gets you chucked in freezing rivers and indirectly thrown up on. Spying on them from under an invisibility cloak has got to be a million times worse, karmically speaking.]
no subject
Don't be so dramatic! Goodness. You're a plenty good-looking chap. The girls would be swooning at the thought of your interest in them, I'm sure.
[He pauses, then gives Souji a once-over.]
Unless you're...not into that sort of thing?
no subject
Either way, he glances over at Souji for a split second, to see if he can pick up on cue one what's okay to say or not say, but then James decides to just take the safe road and deflect.]
Won't matter either way if my cloak's not here, mate. There weren't exactly many spots to hide in in there.
no subject
As for keeping his relationships to himself? He's just a private person--about those kinds of things, anyway.
At James's comment, he nods, also side-stepping the issue.]
If it were here, I don't think Lily would be happy with you letting us use it for that reason.
[Just what a bro would do: bring the fiancee into the situation as moral enforcement. The perfect excuse not to do something he's not particularly interested in anyway.]
no subject
Lil-- oh. [Sirius feels his cheeks heat up ever so slightly. He's done his best to forget the feelings he felt during the event in which he'd shared James' emotions and vice versa. They'd faded pretty easily on their own, of course, but he'd done his own efforts towards smashing them down even further. But he's still not about to go risking anything by peeping on Lily.]
It's-- I'm not aiming to look at her, obviously!
[He makes a little disgusted sound-- not one to imply she's disgusting, but just that it'd be disgusting if he was the one doing the looking at her not-disgusting nude form. And then he turns to James and gives him a little shove.]
You're the one always on my case about not getting a girl here. Maybe she's in there. Just waiting to awaken a fire in my heart. And I can't go see her because you didn't give me your cloak!
no subject
Of course you're not! But I don't think she'd mind so long as I'm not the one using it to spy on girls. You're absolutely right, after all - I'd be doing you a favor, giving you both a chance to meet someone!
[Since Souji didn't protest, he is now officially roped into this. Both of them need girlfriends. Or boyfriends. Whichever, they need someone. If that thought wasn't so completely flippant, he'd consider setting them up with each other, but he'd know by now if Sirius liked blokes.]
But if I haven't got a cloak to give you, then there's not much I can do! I couldn't even find my clothes this morning, aside from this-- [And he raises his arms and waves the extra sleeve fabric back and forth.] ...this...yokatta? Was that it, Souji?
no subject
That's not it, but I can't remember what the word is.
no subject
[Why send them here to a place that has these things and then take away their ability to remember what those things are called? That seems strange. Not that events haven't messed with their memo--
His gaze cuts to James. Shit. He shouldn't have said anything.]
It's-- probably nothing.
We should, er, we should take a look around for the cloak. It's probably just, you know. Invisible. That's sort of it's major function, right?
[Just gonna totally gloss over this memory loss thing before James gets upset lalalalala.]
no subject
Probably not part of the event, but it's because of it. Whenever an event happens, it takes a word from the person the event came from. Even after the event's over, they can't remember it anymore.
[It's clearly a sore spot for James. With the length of time he and Souji have been in Wonderland, there's no question that it's happened to both of them before. It's why James gets that distant look whenever someone mentions what he and his friends call themselves, as if he's trying his hardest to hear something completely inaudible. But no matter how many times it's repeated, he'll never hear it.
He goes right along with the subject change though, because glossing over it is clearly better.]
It's worth a look, I suppose! The worst that can happen is not finding it, and even then it'll be there when the event ends. [He's not terribly worried.]
no subject
With a soft sigh through his nose, he gets up from where he's sitting on the floor.]
I'll help look.
[They might as well get it over with. At least then, if they don't find the cloak, it will look like he wasn't being a total stick in the mud. And if they do find it, then he'll just know for sure that there's something inevitable about high school boys peeping on girls.]
no subject
But they've moved on, so he does his best to channel the energy this anger gives him into something more useful.]
Yes! Yes, excellent. When these events have let us take things with us, has there ever been, I don't know. A special room or something they'd be in? A closet?
no subject
Rather than ask about places to look though, James just gets to work looking. He opens up a closet with a sliding door, where the futons and blankets have been kept.]
Hm...I dunno if there's been a special spot, but I know sometimes it puts things in odd places - like when it split our room in half a few events ago.
no subject
These aren't different versions of our own rooms, though.
no subject
[Because clearly peeking at girls would be the best (and only) way to do that.
Still, he checks the futons, running his hands over them to see if it's just gone invisible or something. But nope. Nothing.]
Ugh! What're we going to do for fun now, then?
no subject
Surely that's not the only thing you can think of to do for fun? [Tsk, tsk.] A few months in Wonderland and you're starting to lose your touch.
[This is all good fun for him though, and an excellent way to keep from dwelling on things like forgotten words. Mischief tugs his grin wider.]
Clearly, we'll have to make our own fun.
no subject
But then James says something that draws his attention well away from Sirius. "Let's peep on the girls" wasn't any worse a suggestion than the kinds of things that Yousuke and Teddy came up with on a regular basis, but James is capable of whole new levels of Bad Idea.]
...Did you have anything particular in mind?
no subject
Think Souji'll have to act as the final vote on anything we come up with. He knows what the appropriate sort of fun to have here is. But yes, James, let's hear it. What've you got?
