[The recording is, presumably, accidental. Souji himself is mostly out of frame, although his hands are visible as he works on putting together a plastic model. The thing is half finished and he's popping the remaining pieces out of their plastic casing when there's a sharp but quiet snapping sound.

He hesitates, puts the piece down. Or rather, puts two pieces that should be one piece down.]

...Damn it.

[He sighs and goes about seeing if he can glue the broken plastic back together without the break being too obvious.]

[Aww, that piece broke. Minato would have to check if he could get another one of those figurines from the closet too since he got this one last time.]

... Let me check if I can get a spare piece.

[He sighs, but smiles a little, sheepish.]

Sorry. It's the one you gave me.

[Minato shook his head. He pulled a chair up by the closet.]

It's okay.

[Minato thought about the Kan U or Guan Yu figurine in his mind and asked the closet for it. He did get a gundam, but not the right one. Who was this, Liu Bei or Ryuu Bi? Not the right one. Damn.]

Maybe I should just ask for that piece.

You don't have to. [It might get tedious, and he doesn't want to put Minato through the trouble.] I can probably glue this one back together.

[Hopefully it won't come out lopsided or something if he does that.]

[So Minato tried a couple of times, and finally got a Zhang Fei (Chou Hi) to go with the Liu Bei (Ryuu Bi) since Kan U shouldn't be alone. Have to have friends. Guan Yu can't fight in the Three Kingdoms alone.]

[Let's hope Souji doesn't break these ones either?]

[Souji nods and waits for Minato to come over. He knows Minato knows he can just come in, no problem, since Souji's expecting him. In the meantime, he focuses on getting the piece he's holding set just right and holds it in place while the glue dries.]

[Minato brought over the two other models for Souji's collection. He sat down at the table with Souji.]

Mn. I know you were being careful. Did you need help?

[Souji makes room for him at the table.]

Will you snap the rest of the pieces out of the frame?

[Souji holds up the panel of pieces he just broke a piece off of.]

Okay.

[Minato could do that. He would get right on that and then scooted over so he was sitting right next to Souji.

Then he smiled at him and poked him in his side. Hm. Hmmmm.]

[Souji glanced sideways at Minato, repressing a smile so that he could deadpan.]

Need something?

[Minato looked pensive, then nodded sagely after poking Souji again.]

You feel like making a model today.

[Said with all the wisdom of... hm. A Velvet Room proprietor?]

And shouldn't you know what I need?

[Souji continued to deadpan at him.]

...Glue?

[Minato looked at Souji and deadpanned right back.]

Right. That.

[Uh huh.]

[With the side of his hand, Souji nudged the bottle of glue over to Minato. You will never win this contest, even if you can win an eating contest, Minato.]

[Damn. Well, okay, fine. Minato can let Souji win some sometimes. Souji is the kouhai, after all, so senpai has to give in sometimes.

Minato looked at the glue and then back up at Souji. Then he smiled and gave Souji a hug.]

Mn, I don't need glue for this.

[Souji smiled to himself.]

Mm.

[He leaned a little into Minato, then straightened to try and get the piece he'd broken into place on his half-built model.]

[Minato let Souji straighted, but he scooted closer to sit right next to Souji.]

Oh... can I sit here?

[Minato pointed to Souji's lap. You know, while Souji worked. Minato could pull apart that panel of parts too from there.]

[Souji glanced at him, then nodded.]

Well, it's not taken, so I don't see why not.

[Minato did a mini fist pump like he scored at the top of the class or he got to eat something awesome. He didn't hesitate then to climb into Souji's lap, sideways first, both hands hanging onto to that panel of parts.]

Hm, it's comfortable here. Are you?

[Souji shifted. It was hard to reach the items on the table, so instead, he just put his arms around Minato and rested his head against his shoulder.]

Of course.

[Oh, good. Minato set the parts down on the table and leaned more into Souji, enjoying where he was.]

I'm such a distraction right now.

[And maybe a bit of a burden, whoops.]

Just a little bit.

But the best distraction.

[Minato did feel bad though. He was shorter and could do this to Souji. The opposite he could try, but he wasn't sure if Souji would be as comfortable either. It almost wasn't fair.]

I won't argue that.
