(A well-dressed, ever-so-slightly scarred English ~~boy~~Earl is sitting behind a desk, a set of neatly written notes piled neatly at one end. Before him there is a layout of "Wonderland" as best as he can calculate the rooms and proportions - as things seem to like changing. His lips twitch unhappily and he leans back, stubbornly resolved.)

These events...

How can there be absolutely no trace of them? Is the lack of evidence meant to drive us into madness?

(His one visible eye - an almost perfect sapphire blue - narrows in suspicion.)

I am late in introducing myself formerly: I am Earl Ciel Phantomhive. I call England home usually. (As if that isn't painfully apparent with his British accent.) But it seems I have fallen down the Rabbit Hole...

Will I be seeing the Red Queen next? How about the Mad Hatter?

Unfortunately, your witty remark is something you might learn to dread. The characters from Lewis Carroll's book do appear on the network, but they're not quite as you remember them and the only thing they seem to do is give us obscure hints to the next event. Three days later, the event is thrust upon us.

At least there are a few decent events mixed in with the horrid ones.

(A familiar face and one who understands the inner workings of England to some degree! Ciel rests his chin on an upturned hand, smiling in greeting.)

I had my doubts about it, but it is far easier than sending a missive. (Even if said letter is tied to the leg of an owl, for example.) Can they be drawn out early? I imagine the events would obscure much of the information that could be gathered from them if one set their mind to it.

(He is fine summoning them, as it were.)

Indeed it is, and much faster too. If only the telegram was this convenient to operate.

[Dorian thinks about it for a moment.] I'm afraid I'm not sure how to draw them out. Surely, it can be done, but how?

I recall one recent event where everyone was transported to a city in outer space. It was a rather lively escape, I think.

(Ciel doesn't need a portrait of his own to mess up his life. He does that well on his own! But it also runs in the family, it seems.)

I cannot say I have used many telegrams. (Letters take longer but so much more can be communicated if one is cunning enough about it.) We might find the answer in their individual traits. The Red Queen is proud, is she not? Boastful? Quick to anger? The Mad Hatter is, well, mad...

I suppose nonsense could appeal to him. (His eyes widen, though, of course, only one is visible.) Outer space?

[At least Dorian doesn't get himself directly involved with supernatural horrors. That's what cursed artwork and bad influences are for!]

Hm... If I remember correctly, I've seen the Dormouse, the Duchess, some playing cards, Tweedles Dee and Dum, and.. Alice? Unfortunate girl, she is. I'd rather not mention what she or the duchess looked like.

[No eye holes and headless, respectively. And yet they seem to get on just fine!]

Yes. Outer Space. Apparently, one of the residents here made her home among the stars...

(The supernatural ties hand in hand with the underworld. Ciel cannot escape it if he is to serve the Queen as his family has done for generations.)

Alice? Why was she unfortunate? And the Duchess? (Hey, Dorian, ugly people can be useful too, you know.) Alice is the central character; is she experiencing Wonderland at our side or has she been here long enough to adapt?

(Oh dear.)

That would be foolish. The air must be very thin. (Or, you know, nonexistent.)

[Well, then. Ciel's London sounds a lot weirder than Dorian's now.]

Oh, I imagine she's been here long enough. Too long, in fact. The last time I saw her, she... Erm... Well, I suppose you won't want me to sugarcoat this, but she seemed to be completely missing her eyes. Completely, no eyelids or anything. It's odd to describe, but horrible to see. [It freaked Dorian out, anyway.]

As for the Dutchess... You remember Ophelia from Shakesphere's Hamlet? Beautiful, somewhat naive... Driven to madness? [Because she's far from hideous, that's for sure.]

I never said they didn't throw themselves out into the cosmos and expect to live unsupported! The whole city we visited was inside a massive structure meant to keep the oxygen in. I apologize for not knowing the proper term.

(He wishes all he had to deal with was a possessed painting!)

I can handle the truth. (His nose wrinkles delicately at the description.) Did she say what became of her? Who took her eyes?

(His eyebrows rise.) That could be an act. Naïveté and madness are useful masks if one does not take it too far.

(That sort of thing can get one committed - not that Wonderland has an insane asylum.)

I do not know the proper terms either, frankly. I should have liked to see the stars so close at hand.

I don't know who took her eyes. The last time I saw her on the Network, she was merrily working her way through a jigsaw puzzle, as if she could actually see it! Not that the event that followed was enjoyable. [He could have died in a vat and not even realized until it was too late!]

True, I think Wonderland as a whole might be using that logic.

[He smirks.] You would have loved it. For a strange city in space, the Citadel had quite the culture!

(He makes no comment, seeing no reason he need explain why the title was bequeathed to him so young.)

The dismal sight could have been an illusion. If you truly wished to unsettle a populace, you would not appear to them looking your finest, would you?

(Logic. Ha! Ciel scoffs at the mere use of the word.)

Is there ever a repeat in these events and locations?

... You make a good point. Then again, I've been exposed to stranger things during my stay.

[Wonderland is just way too weird.]

I don't think there has been, but apparently turning adults into children and zombie infestations are recurring themes. I haven't seen them combined, though. Thank goodness.

[How many times has he become a child? Two? Three times now?]

My logic might not have any place in Wonderland, but I am not accustomed to living without some order.

(Like morning tea.)

Do not give those listening ideas! (Children zombies would be easier to fend off, but they would turn his stomach more.)
