video/action;
[Souji is, surprise surprise, in the di-- Actually, this time he's in the kitchen. For a change of pace. He's got the device propped up on something so that he can talk at it hands free. Sitting in front of him is a piece of the rainbowiest rainbow cake a person could possibly make.]
Today is my sixth anniversary.
[He nudges the cake a little toward the camera.]
So I made cake. There's plenty of it, so I'll leave it here in the kitchen in case any one wants to have some.
[With a smile that seems quite tired, he shifts the cake to one side, and glances after it. With his gaze still cast away from the camera, he asks:]
How long have you been here? Do you want to go home? [He looks back at the camera again, his expression more thoughtful than tired now.] I'm kind of...doubting myself in that regard.

[He can't help but to be curious.]
It's only been about six months for me, but honestly I don't mind being here knowing that my life is waiting for me. If I can help here for a time, then so be it.
video
[He pokes his cake with his fork, but doesn't take a bite.]
Do you know what's going to happen in the future at home? Or do you mean life in general?
video
Not that I think we'll find out but curious nonetheless.
In general for the most part. I left creatures behind I worry for. As for the future though, I've learned a bit about my own and it's fairly promising.
video
[But, matter at hand.]
That's good. But how did you find out about it?
video
[At least it's something to think about.]
There have been some here from my world who have the book I'm writing now as a textbook in their school.
video
[Now that's an interesting thing.]
Really? Who?
video
[It certainly couldn't hurt, not if it might help those in the future that found themselves in Wonderland.]
The people that told me where James Potter and Remus Lupin. My name is Newt Scamander, and apparently eventually I publish a book about magical beasts.
video
[It's a good idea. Souji thinks they should carry through on it. It might be a complicated task, but it was doable.
Hearing those names surprises him.]
James was a good friend of mine while he was here.
[Manners, though.]
It's nice to meet you. My name is Souji.
video
[That makes Newt smile brightly.]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Souji. James' world is my own, and he truly seemed to have enjoyed his time here. Some have told me that there are books that talk about a time beyond James and Remus' but I've yet to look for them.
video
I've heard of the books--they exist in my world--but I've never read them.
video
[He isn't sure that is healthy for anyone's well being.]
video
video
I am uncertain about what video games are entirely, but how could someone turn your life into a game?
video
I guess it's like...almost like someone had a window into my world and watched what we were doing.
[Okay, he's never put that into actual words before, but it's a little unsettling to think about.]
video
[He shakes his head, actually bothered by the very idea, for both James' sake as well as Souji's.]
video
[He uses that stress in the sentence because it's clear that it isn't fiction for James or Newt.]
video
It makes sense, but that doesn't mean I think it's acceptable. Or even logical but then Wonderland rarely is.
video
[The thought reframes what Wonderland actually is. If it's got that much agency, then it's like a hub with other worlds radiating off of it. Under that understanding, Wonderland becomes the literal center of the universe.]
Do you... Do you think that's really possible?
[The thought is a little disturbing. At least a little.]
video
Though when speaking of things such as the books and this game you spoke of, I have to wonder. If they have access to our separate worlds, why not access to release such things?
video
He frowns slightly, head canted to one side.]
What do you mean?
Re: video
video
I'd like to think it's not that powerful.
video
Not sure I'm certain any of them are real, but the thoughts come.
