[The feed begins. Satoru carefully centers himself in the frame before sitting back. He's outside in the grass next to the lake, with the device propped up against a tree.]

I think I have the gist of things. [He read the pamphlet, which was pretty helpful as a crash course.] But there are still some things I'm confused about.

[His frustration is apparent in a brief pause that follows that admission, however.]

Asking questions won't change the situation, but...can someone explain the part about time not moving?

[Because that is relevant to his interests.]

[Kayo seems a little more unsure. She’s standing just behind Satoru and trying not to draw much attention to herself. Making any kind of announcement to a wide group of people is uncomfortable, and it’s easier to just let him take the lead, if he wants to.]

...Isn’t that impossible?

[She’s quiet, but also not very impressed by the supposed magicalness of the world around them. Life isn’t a storybook and people don’t get whisked away to worlds where time doesn’t exist. It sounds kind of stupid to believe something like that just because someone put it in a professional-looking pamphlet.]

The most likely reason is that this dimension exists outside of the flow of time entirely.

Equally, I'm afraid you'll find a great deal that should be "impossible" in fact isn't, here.

[The wheels turn in Kayo's mind immediately, and she mulls that thought over. It seems to hold more significance for her than just a matter of impossibility.]

So...no one at home knows we're gone.

[Minato shook his head. She was also just as insightful since not everyone picked up on that so quickly.]

[He gets the implications of that--no one at home will know they've gone--and he relaxes a bit at that.]

How can it not move here, though?

[Okay, the first part makes sense...although he's not going to even try to wrap his mind around how that works. What matters more to him is how it plays out.

The second part he needs more information on. He got the thing about events from the pamphlet, but that doesn't tell him that much that's of practical use.]

Give me an example.

[Kayo is fine with this. It's more comfortable than looking at someone's face on a little screen, and the distance makes it a little bit easier to sass an adult.]

That doesn't make any sense. Wouldn't we all be frozen in place?

[A pause, and then:]

Are you lying to us because we're children?

[What. Are they supposed to believe anything anyone tells them?]

Aside from the fact that you've been pulled into an entirely different dimension that somehow exists outside the flow of time?

[After all, that would be a suitable example for many.]

Are you often able to wish up whatever you want from your closets back where you're from?

[She's okay with no one knowing. It might have been the case either way.]

Why won't we remember?

In a sense, we are. No one here ages, for one.

[Oh, but then there's that pause. On his end, Rip sighs.]

Hardly. I'm aware of how utterly ridiculous it all sounds.

[Okay there's no reason to be sarcastic about it.]

Well time does sorta move here. Like, the seasons change? But I've heard that people don't age here. The thing about time not moving is more to do with back home, I think. Like so, basically time is frozen back home while we're here, so when you go back, you return to the exact second you left.

I dunno, it's all science crap, it's hard to get my head around it.

I...guess that makes...sense. [It does not make sense at all but neither does a talking cat so there isn't much to be done about that.] ...It didn't line up right either. It was winter at home.

Someone mentioned that. We would be kids forever here, if that's true.

[It doesn't make sense, so she's not sure she's ready to believe it, but...if it's true it might be nice. Or...not. It depends.]

Does that mean there isn't school here? ...Or parents?

That makes sense, if time isn't passing at home. It would be...weird to go back and be older....
