[ The video clicks on to show Billy perched on top of a set of high bars in the training center. There’s something different about him, something that maybe can’t be identified right away- three years can be packed with a lot of changes. There’s a certain confidence about him, a more seriousness to his face (and some muscle he previously didn’t have. Someone clearly spent a nice chunk of time at the gym). He’s looking out at the room before his eyes find the camera. ]

This training center was set up three years ago by Natasha Romanoff and Steve Rogers. It was a place to train, to spar, to hone abilities that might be a little more than average. For a little while it was a place for the Avengers to train.... We’re sorta short on those lately. [ He pauses for a moment and then clears his throat, moving on. ]

Steve always took care of this place before he left, and I sorta started to afterwards, but I notice not a lot of people drop by anymore. I wanted to uh, just make people aware that it was here and that it’s equipped for anyone who wants to use it.

The punching bags are reinforced for super strength, there’s an aerial area for those of us who use flight. Obstacles courses, and training dummies, private sparring rooms in the back. There’s also the start of a simulation room that never actually got finished- if anyone is good with tech that wants to take a look at it by all means. There are also some moving target bots that could use a looking at if anyone is good with robots. [ He’s looking at you Tony Stark. ]

So yeah. It’s here. It’s open to everyone.

[ And one more personal thing. ]

Also, uh, I guess I’m back. Teddy said I was only gone for a week- so I guess that’s what that’s like huh? Did I miss anything?

[ For anyone who drops by, there is now a small easy to miss plaque just inside the doorway declaring the room to be the Rogers/Romanoff Training Center. ]

And how are those punching bags being reinforced?

[ -- peggy carter doesn't have super strength. she doesn't need anything much more than your garden variety heavy bag. but maybe if she asks about the equipment she can avoid that funny little swell of curiosity over steve's day-to-day life in wonderland. maybe, if she asks about the equipment, she can trick herself into believing this isn't some kind of heartbroken interrogation. ]

Must be a clever bit of work.

[Just the mere mention of Steve will always make Rocket wince. Friendship is hard when your friends leave. OFTEN.]

I guess I could check out the tech and see what's goin' on over there.

I...[ sure Peggy, ask the hard questions. ] don’t actually know? I’m pretty sure Tony made them for him, when Tony was here like three years ago. I never really asked how they work because I don’t use them.

They do work though, I’ve seen people with super strength use them and they hold up.

If Tony made them, I don't doubt it.

[ a beat. ]

I wonder if he'd be able to identify the reinforcement, however. Even if he doesn't remember being here before.

I went home for well, about three years back home, but it seems it was only a week here. I’ve seen it happen to other people, but I’d never experienced it before. It’s weird.

That's well and good... [No, seriously that stuff looks cool but...]

That would be great, I have no idea what any of it is so I haven’t touched most of it.i think it was supposed to use holograms. [ He really has no idea though, Rocket you are welcome to do whatever you want with it. ]

He probably would, he’s still Tony. [ And Billy knows he’s a genius. ]

He also built the simulation room- though he never finished it. And some of the bot and moving targets. [ Things that need to be fixed because as Billy learned they don’t really withstand electricity...]

Sorry, buddy, Wonderland sent me home for a bit.

( that's a looong time. and it explains the tiny differences he can pick up on billy. )

Did you do anything fun?

[ -- hm. she wonders if he knows. and then she wonders what difference it might ever make if he did. as she'd said to someone else, once, peggy half-suspects tony would go out of his way to defy whatever he did the last time the was in wonderland. a kind of aggressive self-defeatism. ]

It seems as though the training centre, at least, was quite the group effort.

It ain't really my engineering niche, but I don't have a whole lot else better to do. Good time to add to my already considerable skillset.

Plus realistic holograms are way more badass than targets.

[ Henry has no abilities, but he does have a friend he’s happy to see, so he decides to reply. ]

[ Who really wants to be here? ]

Were you here for the whole ‘looks like we all just dropped acid together before being attacked by zombies’ thing? ‘Cause if not, that’s what you missed. Also, we had to sing to kill them. Great times. Weird times. Times I would not repeat.

Uh. I fought some robots. Teddy is king of space now and has a cool sword. Formed our own team of heroes.

[ He also got possessed by an evil space squid from like the 5th dimension who wanted to take over the world. Less fun. ]

[ Billy once mentioned it in passing, he’s not really sure Tony knows the extent to which this place is full of Stark tech. ]

Yeah. They were...well a lot less had happened to them back in their world then. They had pretty much their whole team when I showed up here.

[ Then ultron and the accords happened and Billy watched them all change. Watched Steve change, since he was the one that never left...until he did. ]

( he'd ask why the heck teddy gets to be king of space but--teddy's cool. he can be king of space and have a cool sword if he wants to. that sounds perfectly reasonable, and teddy's probably a fair and just king. )

Cool! What'd you name your team? Does Teddy's sword have an awesome name?

Sounds like I didn't get all of the history. [No one had mentioned she'd been involved in that one. Even if it was some other version of her. Or the same version, but she doesn't remember it. Or whatever other possibilities might be out there.

The end takeaway is that Natasha isn't expecting it when her name is thrown out, and while she hasn't kept her Avengers' affiliations secret—that information was far too readily available for that—there's still an itchy, rubbed wrong feeling when the flow of information is out of her control.

Not that she's angry, but it does get her attention.] Now it turns out I've been ignoring my responsibilities.

[Wryly. It's not a real concern.]

And they don’t break when you shoot them with electricity. [ He holds up one of the broken targets as an example. Give him something to shoot at. ]

I would have liked to have met some of them. Although -- it goes without saying, it's just as well they're gone. I wouldn't start praying for their return.

[ There’s a track. He could go running. Billy promises the track won’t try to kill him. ]

Thanks, dude. As welcome as it can be, right?

[ It’s weird being back, like two different lives colliding. He’s sorta still trying to sort it out in his head. ]

[ He lets out a lush. ] Yeah. I was. The last thing I remember about this place was it going back to normal. [ And figuring out his two best friends were gone. But he’s not dwelling on that- technically it’s been three years since he’s seen them anyway. ]

Yeah. No idea, that’s how Wonderland works I guess? I’ve seen it happen to other people. Went home and had no idea I had ever been here, and once I got back I remembered everything. [ He shrugs. Wonderland makes no sense. ]

My world is fine. Or as fine as it can be when there’s always someone trying to take it over.

[Might have a small look of relief at knowing they can comeback.

As for the rest well... same ol' same ol'?]

Kind of annoying for Wonderland to throw you out for a week just to drag you back for no reason. You at least get anything done in that time?

Learn a cool spell or two? A hair cutting spell maybe? [You're looking kind of like a hippie there buddy.]

Welcome back, I suppose. [ Not that Pepper particularly wants anyone to be stuck here, but it seems like the thing to say. ]

This training center. Is it all right to use even if we don't have any superpowers? I could stand to brush up on my self-defense.
