Good afternoon, my darlings.
That last event was a rough one for a lot of people, and I know some of us are also bracing for what comes next. I'll be in the kitchen for the next four hours, and I'll take requests the whole time I'm there. I think we could all use a little comfort food, or some distraction.
Requests don't necessarily have to be culinary in nature. I'd be delighted to improvise a poem or tell you a story. An off-the-cuff Scheherazade, with bonus cookies.
Come keep me company for awhile.
[Of course, certain people don't have a choice in the matter. She has conchas baking for Seth, cookies for Wirt, all her teammates' favorites, and so on. Friends and acquaintances who fail to show up may well find Maggie at their doors afterward with a plate in hand.
Even a few people who might not expect it, if she's ever had reason to worry about them.
Maggie is going to start climbing the walls if she doesn't find meaningful ways to fill up her days here. This takes care of one day.]

He is definitely looking better after the hell of the event where he had lost himself. His suit is pressed and perfectly neat, not a single stain on his white shirt, and his tie midnight against the pure white. The dark circles that has haunted his eyes of late seem gone, and he is almost smiling.]
I do believe I promised to hang out with you in the kitchen, didn't I? I do remember this.
[Even if there are some things he might forget because of alcohol.]

"As often as possible, please. I almost always prefer to have people around." She turns to greet him with a smile. Unlike Seth's, Maggie's clothes are far from spotless. She's been at this for awhile, and flour dots the front of her flannel shirt.
Her still damp hair is neatly braided, though, and she smells like citrus with a faint undertone of bleach. She wasn't going to handle a bunch of other people's food without decontamination first. She's still being careful as she works, and has both gloves and disinfectant on hand to use as needed.
"You'll be here a long time if you want what I'm baking for you, though," Maggie adds, grinning. "Dough needs time to rise, but I seem to remember you requesting pan dulce awhile ago. I planned on stopping by to deliver it if you never made it down to the kitchen."

"Not like I got a lot of plans here," he admits, not looking the least bit upset as he moves and leans back against the counter. "Though I'm considering asking the closet for some safes. Richie was our cracker, so it might do me some good to practice."
He needs to do something to try and keep himself busy and content in this place. Something that he hasn't worked on that left him in the darkness that had taken control of him.
He watches her for a few minutes, falling silent though his gaze is intense. "Can I ask you a question? About the Kimberlee virus thing?"

So she races to the kitchen, coming to a stop a few steps from the door and walking in like she’s not a metahuman..]
How do you feel about lasagne? I’ve been itching to make something and my mom’s lasagne is always my standby.
Re: action.
Overwhelmingly positive, so long as it isn't meat lasagna. I grew up in a zombie world and I'm still squeamish about red meat even if it is safe to eat here. Turkey or vegetarian sounds great.
[All of that, including the bit about zombies, was delivered as cheerfully as the introduction that follows it.] Hi, I'm Maggie.

Shawn makes his way to the kitchen because requests that begin with someone calling him darling like an adorable 'everyones mom' type? Check. Someone making him food? Double check. A possible emotional ballad thrown in for good measure? Go no further. And he can keep her company pretty well, he figures, so as he walks into the kitchen, he makes a sweeping gesture.
"I'm looking for the lady that can make all the foods in the world. My name is Shawn Spencer, and I have a simple yet urgent request."
Re: action
One hundred percent sure, because this is a rough week and if she has to spend the day alone she'll probably cry. Feeding half the mansion is preferable by far. Maggie likes cooking, and she likes being surrounded by people.
"Not quite all the foods in the world," she disagrees, grinning. Even if she did bring down her tablet loaded with its supply of cookbooks, there are a few recipes too obscure. And then there are the hangups that come with being from a zombie world. There a couple things she simply won't cook.
"Maggie Garcia. Pleased to meet you, Shawn. What's your request?"

I don't really need any comfort food, but I certainly wouldn't turn down a story. I like learning about other worlds.
Re: Action
[Maggie remembers just how strongly Sunburst reacted to the carousel, and wonders how on earth he'd handle the walking dead. She considers him for a second, then asks:]
You want true stories, then? I don't know if my world is one you'd enjoy learning about.
[Maggie is a Fictional. Sharing the news is supposed to be Georgia's job.]

What is considered "comfort food" where you come from, if you don't mind my asking?
Re: video;
Depends on the person and what they grew up with. Popcorn's my big one, since I've always been a movie fan. Not much smells homier than popcorn to me.
Some people go for chocolate, some for macaroni and cheese... Do you have a favorite food?

Becks received that particular message loud and clear. If Maggie in the kitchen is the question, the answer is always a resounding yes!, because she was a total master there. Just another in her laundry list of accomplishments that have zero percent to do with her last name or her bank account, thanks.
She eventually makes her way down to the kitchen and for a moment, she just watches her friend move around the kitchen, bustling with an ease of someone in an element they actually adore. But after a moment, she wanders over to a clear area of the counter and hops up to sit on it, legs draped over the side, swinging slightly as she leans back on her arms.
"What kind of chocolate-y masterpiece are you gonna make me?" she asks, her voice light and teasing. Becks is definitely trying to be more of herself in the wake of the awful face of her first Event.
Re: {Don't know where to start, open up a bag of candy hearts, lay 'em on the table one by one
Maggie is sure Shaun and Georgia will remember the date. Becks, she isn't as certain of. Either way, she'll take the other woman's company, given the opportunity. She smiles over at Becks.
"Whatever kind you want, but fudge is already cooling over there. I figured you'd want chocolate."

Just one quick question... ]
I'm totally up for it! Feels kind of like a lopsided deal, though, with you doing all the entertaining. Maybe we can do a little quid pro quo? [ Each syllable in "quid pro quo" in enunciated by bobbing her shoulders up and down like they're see-sawing. ]
Do you like karaoke, by any chance?
Re: video;
And here I thought everyone had already sung their hearts out this month.
Karaoke isn't one of my usual pastimes, but I can't say I mind it. [She didn't actually mind this past event, even. At least, not the singing part of it. And while she has no desire at all to reveal her feelings through song today, this time around she gets to choose the songs.] Hi. I'm Maggie.

Ran out of company in the kitchen?
[They both know that's not why Maggie is here.]
Re: action
"Not so much 'ran out' as 'had food to deliver to my team.' "
And she's fairly certain she hopes they can leave it that. Certain types of comfort are not Georgia's strong suit. If Maggie wants a hug, she'll go elsewhere for one. Of course, Georgia has never known how to deal with the truth other than through confronting it straight on. Maggie isn't sure what her chances are of sneaking through this conversation unscathed.
"I was experimenting."

You're a poet? I don't think I've met any of those since coming here. I've always loved poetry.

There aren't enough in Wonderland. I know of at least one on this side of the mirror and one on the other. I can't say I like or agree with the latter, but it's always nice to find more of us.

Hey.

Don't worry 'bout the dog. He's fine.

Maggie's face absolutely lights up when she gets a glimpse of the German Shepherd. She gets like this with any dog, but this one is special. He looks like he just stepped straight out of one of the movies she loves. Half horror movie monster, half happy canine.
"He's wonderful," she breathes immediately, already headed for the sink to wash her hands. "Is he friendly? Can I pet him?"
Dan can't say no to this face. It would be basically like kicking... well... a puppy. Maggie is barely restraining herself.

But he sees Maggie's request and...well, maybe that won't be so bad. It won't be awkward if he visits with someone who didn't see what a mess he was in the event, right? Right. Totally right.]
Um-- hey, Maggie. Are you still baking?
Re: Action
Oh, good. Maggie wasn't sure she'd see Wirt today without going to his room to seek him out. She hopes this bodes well.
"For you, I would bake absolutely any time. But yes, I am. You're welcome to make requests" She smiles warmly at him.
There's a little selfishness in it when she adds, "Can I give you a hug?" Maggie really wants those today, even though hugs, like baking, are something she's glad to give Wirt any day.
