+ RULES FOR CURRENT EWAY PLAYERS +

• This is an IC EVENT with mod plot attached to it. Therefore, all characters will remember the fourth wall event and any characters who pass through.


• Are 4th walls not your thing? Not a problem--just leave a note on your post or top-level saying you don’t want to participate in the 4th wall part of the event. If someone has such a note on their post, characters from outside of the game are NOT allowed to comment. For these characters, it will just be as though the Mansion suddenly had a LOT more people for the holidays.


• Make sure you pass along this post when you do your enabling! TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS; DRAG THEM HERE KICKING AND SCREAMING.


• Regular AC rules apply! You can ABSOLUTELY use fourth wall threads to count towards your characters' AC, even if they're with characters who aren't normally in the game. However, if you choose to bring in additional characters for the fourth wall your activity with them will not be applied towards your AC for the characters you do have, so plan accordingly if you need to. (So if you have character A in Eway, but spend the whole event playing character B who isn't in the game, you can't turn around and say "BUT I WAS HERE!!" at AC time because you didn't keep the character you already have active!)

+ RULES FOR EWAY VISITORS +

• Only members of the game will have posting access, but anyone is welcome to comment anywhere, unless the person who made the post or top-level has a opt-out note saying otherwise. Characters will have temporary network devices for this purpose, but mysteriously they don't have the ability to post. Whenever a character in the fourth wall tries, they will get a strange error message.


• Similarly, please do not tag your characters on posts or logs (the "fandom: character name" tags). These tags are meant as organizational tools for current players (and mods) to group their posts together and it will get very confusing very fast.


• ALL characters are welcome. This includes, but is not limited to: doubles, AUs, CR AUs (meaning characters who remember being in games other than Entranceway), original characters, and pretty much whatever else you can think of. Characters who were once in Wonderland may remember as much or as little of their previous stay as their players want them to.


• The White Queen will not be making new mirrors for every single character by default the way she does for in-game characters, but you're more than welcome to bring old mirrors back for the week. If you choose to app your character so that they stay in Wonderland, she will make a Mirror for them then.


• You're welcome to backtag your fourth wall threads as long as you'd like to, even if you're not in the game.

+ RULES FOR EVERYONE +

• PLAY NICE. This is rule number one and will always be rule number one. There's going to be a lot of people passing through here over the next week-ish, and ooc harassment of any kind will NOT BE TOLERATED. We're all here to play together, reminisce, enable our friends into this weird little game, and have a good time celebrating Ewaymas. Don't be jerks. No one is required to tag anyone they don't want to tag.


• You're welcome to participate in the mod plot as much or as little as you'd like, even if your character is not in the game! This event is set up with all characters assuming that this event is not temporary, so everyone is welcome to participate as though they're already in Entranceway and let their characters try to figure out the mysteries of the world. But if the mysteries of the world are not your jam, there will be more than enough chaotic things going on.


• Characters will be able to be on either Mirror Side or Real Side! The glass will be removed and Mirror Characters and Real Things will be able to be on the same side of Wonderland without forcing a swap.


• This event will last from December 12th - 26th, and because this is a special anniversary event, the fourth wall aspect will last the entire event. After the 26th, all characters not currently in the game will vanish EXCEPT for characters whose applications are approved.

+ RULES FOR APPLICATIONS +

• Applications will be closed during the event (so no apps on the 16th and the 23rd), to make our lives a little easier. You're welcome to submit applications, but they will not be processed until the 26th, which is a Wednesday, instead of the usual Sunday! Regular applications will resume on the 30th.


• As of November 30th, all applicants are welcome to substitute a Test Drive Meme or Fourth Wall Thread for their First Person Sample, as long as it's less than two months old. Third Person Samples and History are still required, but applicants looking to join during the fourth wall are now able to use a thread from the event for their First Person Sample. This will be a permanent change to our applications.


• Characters whose applications are approved on the 26th will be able to remember the fourth wall event. This ONLY applies to characters who would be appable under normal circumstances, and thus does NOT include doubles, CR AUs, or original characters.


• Functionally, this means any character whose application is approved on the 26th will be able to remain in Wonderland at the end of the event, and their network device will be upgraded to allow for posting access. ONLY characters who pass their application will be able to stay. This is ONLY the case for the apps processed on the 26th - characters who are applied for after the 26th will not remember the fourth wall event and will have left Wonderland at the end of the event.


• If you are applying for a character you used to have in entranceway and you have them remember Wonderland for the fourth wall event, they may keep their Wonderland memories. This is a special offer for applications that will be processed on the 26th. After the 26th, any old characters applied for will not remember their stay in Wonderland.


• If your application is not approved on the 26th because it was rejected or required rewrites, your character will need to have gone home and will NOT remember Wonderland or the fourth wall event. This is in the interest of making sure the event wraps in a timely manner, and to make sure that no characters are left in limbo while waiting for applications to be processed.

So, I may perhaps re-app Dorian Gray with his Wonderland memories. However, I was also going to throw in a canon update as well. How would I go about the re-app?

So what you would do is you would add the information from the canon update to his history if it's not there already. You don't need to include anything about his previous stay in Wonderland. We just need new samples (though the first person can be a 4th Wall thread if you want) and any relevant history that isn't already on the application. You don't have to do anything special to indicate that it's an app where he's keeping his memories - we remember you playing him from the last time. :)

Since this is a sort of test drive for some people, or just an opportunity to play with canonmates for a little bit without them actually having to app in, could we do something like a wanted list? To let others know if we'd like to play with certain characters?

It's not late at all! This is actually a good idea. We hadn't initially done this because we do have a Wanted Characters page to use all the time, but I think it would be worth it to have a separate thread for it in the plot post. That way it wouldn't be just for cast mates but also for people looking for weirdly specific things for the 4th wall that wouldn't neatly fit into the wanted page (for example, someone who really wants to do AUs or doubles really bad wouldn't be able to use the regular page for that).

Sorry for the delay! That should be fine, as long as the room is still open to use. Except for the ability to post and the fact that they won't immediately have a Mirror, Wonderland is going to respond to them as though they are new arrivals, so he's allowed to make that. It might not last long, given how the second half of the event goes, but he can!

If you want it to stay beyond his stay in Wonderland though and you aren't planning on re-apping him, then someone else would need to agree to share ownership of it. That person can then add it to the rooming list. Otherwise, it'll vanish after the fourth wall when he does.
