[ Brianna is sitting outside near the lake when she decides to play again, putting aside the book she was half-heartedly reading anyway. ]

We should play a game, maybe break up the day a little bit. It's called 'Would You Rather?' Basically, someone gives a scenario and you have to pick one or the other. No in between. You can explain your choice if you want, but we go back and forth until there's something so impossible to pick the other person gives up.

I'll even start.

[ She thinks for a moment, then looks back at the camera. ]

Would you rather know each time you're going to leave and come back when it comes to Wonderland, or would you rather it be a total surprise like it is now only you get to remember being here when you do leave?

I think I'd want to know when I was leaving. That way I could say goodbye, you know?

Anyway. Your turn.

I've never been a prisoner, no. But my father has, and he did risk everything to be free. It got him accused of a murder he didn't commit. And when he was arrested again my mother broke him out of prison.

[ She shrugs just a little. ]

I guess I'd like to hope I'm as daring as them.

Would you rather eat your favorite meal for every meal for the rest of your life or never be able to eat your favorite meal again?

Woah. Your folks've got a history. [People don't just break out of jail, even in Jean's chaotic world.] Daring is right. Wonder if that runs in the blood.

Hmm. I'm pretty used to eating the same thing day after day. Not that attached to food. But... The same thing, forever? I'd go nuts. I can survive without one favorite food.

I guess eventually I'll find out though I'm...sort of hoping for a calmer life by comparison.

[ She says that with a small smile. ]

I think I could eat the same thing for...a month, definitely not forever, I'm with you. Your turn.

Alright. Uh...

Would you rather... Know the truth, even though it sucks, or believe in a lie that makes your life easier?

[ Bree visibly tenses at that, looking away for a second and taking a deep breath before letting it out and looking over at the camera again. ]

Hittin a little close to home without knowing it. But uh, the truth. From the start. It's better than lies, because the truth always comes out anyway, eventually. Whether it's two days or twenty years. It just hurts worse the longer you believed the lie.

I guess it's the kind of question that applies to a lot of people. [It even applied to him, in a loose sense.] You've got a good point though. Only the really lucky get to die in ignorance.

Is it lucky to have believed something that isn't true your entire life?

What if the truth could have significantly altered how everything about your life played out?

If you were happy with it, sure. You can't learn the truth from your grave. Even if it were altered for the better, you'd be blissfully unaware.

[ Well, there's some food for thought. Bree's quiet for a few seconds before clearing her throat. ]

Next question. Would you rather be able to detect any lie you hear, or get away with every lie you tell?

Hear lies, of course. If you're bad at telling lies, you can just refuse to open your mouth.

[ Bree laughs, not at him, but at the answer. ]

You got me, there. I hadn't even thought of that. Of course, I guess I'd hope to never have a life that requires me to lie that often.

I can see some places where it'd be pretty advantageous, but out of the two, hearing lies was the easy pick. It'd be even better if you could tell what the truth was at the same time.
