+ A New Player Arrives +
[ This is the feed of someone unaware they can be seen. Perhaps they don’t care. It doesn’t matter anymore, anyway.
On the mirror side, in the White Queen’s chambers, two stones, one yellow and one green rest on a table. A gloved hand comes into view; no telling whose. There are stones already decorating the golden glove, but two obvious spots are missing a stone. First, as if by magic, the green stone is drawn into place. When the yellow stone makes its way into the only empty spot, there’s a blinding white light; the feed looks like a blank white screen. But when the now fully jeweled glove is visible again, two fingers of the glove come together.
And snap.
There is a pulsing glow of green light and again, when it fades, the glove is in view, but it’s on the ground now. There’s no movement at all on the feed but a sound can be heard. The flapping of heavy wings. Then, there’s a deafening roar and the feed shifts to reveal...
The Jabberwocky.
It’s too large for the room, and with another loud call, hurls itself through a window to take flight into the open air, up and up and up. And then, it’s gone. Enough death occurred at once to release the beast; but to where?
All that remains of the White Queen is her tiara, rolling to a stop on the ground before the feed goes dark. ]
