+ And that's a wrap! +

So long and farewell to the last of our Queens, and also the Jabberwocky! Here’s a quick recap of what’s been going on.

As it usually does before it attacks, the Jabberwock paid a visit to everyone’s dreams to signal its return. When it made an appearance a couple of days later, the Red Queen stepped forward to slay it, only to discover that the Jabberwocky was seemingly invincible. When it had been pretending to be the White Queen, it had plenty of opportunity to eat some of the Vorpal Yarn and give itself the ability to withstand the blow of a Vorpal Sword. Upon this realization, the Red Queen quickly retreated.

This led to something of a panic from Wonderland. All of the glass in the mirrors shattered, as though it were calling for reinforcements, and Wonderland hid many copies of the Vorpal Items around for people to defend themselves with. The Core also escaped from its confines and began to roam all sides of Wonderland, taking memories from anyone who was unfortunate enough to accidentally look at it. In the midst of this chaos, the Queen of Hearts resurrected herself to join the fight.

The Red Queen returned with apologies and solution, and made a public address to her sister. In order to defeat the Jabberwock, they had to restore balance to Wonderland - balance that had been previously destroyed by killing the White Queen. With some hesitation, the Queen of Hearts agreed.

Together, they submitted their resignations, which gave Wonderland the power to swallow the Jabberwocky whole. After the dust settled, Alice announced her own sort of resignation, and decided to remain on Real Side from now on.

This is going to mean some pretty big changes to Wonderland from now until Endgame!

  • No More Queens: We’ll tackle the obvious first. The monarchy is completely gone, and will not immediately be replaced. Wonderland is going to attempt to govern itself for a little while! Any Mirrors who die from now on will be remade by Wonderland, with no particular affiliation to any Queen or other Ruler. The midnight curfew will remain in place, but Mirrors are able to come and go as they please, swapping places with their Real counterpart.

  • You can keep your Vorpal Items!: The Vorpal Items that were still hidden at the end of the event will vanish, but if you found a Vorpal Item it is your to use from now until Endgame!

  • Alice will be played like a player character from now until Endgame: This means that she will be around to comment on people’s posts and make her own, and will get to experience events with everyone else! In exchange she will be losing her NPC powers, meaning she can no longer teleport across the mansion or predict events before they happen. A quick disclaimer that it is literally not possible for Alice to tag literally every post on Real Side, but that I want to do my best to make sure her CR is diverse and varied. If there’s anything in particular that you would really like Alice to respond to, just hit me up!

  • THE CORE IS STILL LOOSE: The Core is no longer a stationary location. It is constantly moving around Wonderland, looking for new places to hide and new people to sneak up on and steal memories from. It likes to hide in empty, hollow places like cupboards, rooms, boxes, suits of armor - anything it can hide inside of. You can always tell when the Core is hiding somewhere because the edges where light could escape from will glow brightly. If encountered, the Core will steal a large memory from the character. This will be a constant danger for a while!

  • In exchange for that memory, we will add something to Wonderland! If you tell us that you’re going to be having your character forget something, we will add something to the setting that represents that memory in some way (a new location, a new decoration, etc). Encountering the addition will not make characters remember what it means. Currently we have two new additions, courtesy of Nageki and Stan

    1. In the entranceway, there is now a large fireplace, with a mirror in the frame on top. Mirror Side will also have a reflection of this fireplace with a mirror that corresponds to it, if anyone really wants to climb up there. The fire is always roaring and it always stays lit, day and night.

    2. A ten minute walk into the woods, there’s now a mysterious, broken-down shack. The entire place is in shambles, seemingly beyond repair. There was once a place for a sign on the roof, but it seems to be conspicuously missing. Once it had two floors, but it’s so broken that the stairs have collapsed (and so has the roof in many spots). It seems almost fitting there, as though the forest will start to take it back any moment.

  • Alright! We know that a lot of new information, so we’re going to have a FAQ thread in this post for any questions you might have. We hope you enjoyed this event! Please feel free to backtag it to your heart’s content (especially since we know a few of you were away at the time). We also hope these new changes will be fun going forward, and will put an interesting twist on things going into Endgame.
