So, as the Dormouse has said, we've got an event coming up! Lots of horrific nightmare visions and terrors - sounds like fun times, right?

"But wait, Koji, why is it starting Friday; that's not as much time to plan as usual, is it?"

No, it's not. But, I thought it might be good to have one day of the event before the AC, for all of you stragglers out there. You know who you are. As a reminder the Activity Check starts Saturday, September 1st and there is no grace period. The AC rules are right here so get posting/threading/whatever!

As always, if you guys have questions, the first thread will be a FAQ, and then come and plot your plotty things here! What kind of terrible things will your characters see in the fog?

Hi hi! Um, this might be a dumb question, but the fog is inside -and- outside the Mansion?

We can also decide how long / how much the fog can affect someone? Like if someone breathes it in just once and moves away from the fog or the fog moves away from that someone, the effects might not be as much OR they can be at their maximum?

Beiste will probably don a gas mask as soon as they figure out what this gas is, and if that doesn't work, she'll just try and stay on the move, dragging anyone she encounters along with her.

John will try to use his windy thing to get the fog away from people, but I could see him easily concentrating so hard on protecting some other people that he totally misses it settling down onto his own head.

George is going to be annoyed that she has to keep moving to avoid the fog but will hang out with her friends as needed. (This would be a good time for her to maybe meet Brit. ;D)

Tara might get stressed out by the uncertainty of the situation and switch into Buck or Gimmie, depending on the circumstances. I. Kind of want Buck to go crazy and start pointing his gun at everyone, ngl.

The Lorax is really starting to not trust this place at all. B( The indoors is just out to get him. But he'll try and keep an eye out for people and maybe find a safe place that everyone can hide in.

GUESS WHO JUST REALLY LOVES GIANT KILLER DOGS? IF YOU GUESSED DEAN WINCHESTER, YOU WIN THE PRIZE. Because Alex is one of those COUGH stragglers who needs a good entry for a poor bastard, this is the perfect opportunity to have Dean flipping the mother-loving heck out about Hellhounds. Unpleasant creatures, they are. Knowing him, he'll go investigating the mysterious mist and become a paranoid wreck, pointing his gun at people, scrambling away from invisible canines, cringing in corners, you name it.

ATHOS learned his lesson about fog from the last time, so he isn't getting anywhere near the stuff if he can possibly help it. He'd be glad to usher people away from the danger, though. Make himself useful and all that.

EVELYN CARNAHAN finds this misty stuff very suspicious and reminds her of the chemical warfare she heard about in the papers during the Great War so let's all don gas masks shall we? Just to be on the safe side. If she does get it knocked off her face, though, prepare for hysterical sobbing and wide-eyed cringing away from people.

Shinjiro will probably see Takaya, Ken, shadows, and/or the ghost of Ken's mother. If he sees shadows, he'll likely get violent, but if it's a person he's seeing, he'll just stand there, and try to hide his fear.

If anybody wants to traumatize their character and mine and have Shinji accidentally attack them by mistaking them for a shadow, we could plot? I'm open to other ideas too.

Since I didn't give Buckingham a birthday present I think he could stand to wander into the fog just a little. Nothing says congratulations like suffering from delusions of being burnt alive or similar body horrors yet to be determined.

Philip's life is a constant party of paranoia and hallucinations, this is pretty much baseline for him. Yawn. Still, I think he'll just maintain a steady course of ignoring the mansion's latest weather fad and if he gets hit anyway it's back to zombie dogs and giant worms for him.

Minato will do his best to avoid the fog (and probably not be affected for this event because what even I don't know how to plot XD and I'll probably be on semi-hiatus anyway this weekend), and go around helping anyone he can.

and also a Lithuania who will sit out in the fog with a broken leg who will probably have to be saved. And then be unable to run away from the fog for the duration of the event so he will probably be seriously crazy by the end. I'm not quite sure what he will see yet but zombie Teutons or something sounds good.

Bela hasn't really been affected by any of the events yet and this one is just perfect for her.

I would like to get her pretty exposed to the fog and have her be a little on edge so to speak. As for what she will see? Demons, hellhounds and her father. He's possibly the worst of them all.

Anyone want to run into her and help or even hinder? Come at me!

James will be really taken by surprise with this event, because he's still kind of cocky and Gryffindor-ish and pretty sure he's not scared of anything so he'll want to be a big damn hero. ...And then he'll wind up in the fog and be a total mess. He'll see flashes of green light and hear babies crying for some ~mysterious~ reason and become convinced something is trying to kill him.

The Once-ler......you know, I'm actually not sure. If he was from farther along, I'm sure it would be something horrific like his rusty axe-hacker coming to chop his head off for his crimes against nature or something. But I think he would mostly just hear spooky noises, as if it was a ghost or something, be scared in the moment, and then just....shrug it off once the fog disappears because everyone knows ghosts don't exist.

lol~ Em and I were just talking about how we hoped there'd be a derpy, fun event next and hahaha it's our world's fault there isn't XD Sherlock will be wary of more fog and know exactly what is wrong with him once he gets dosed with it. Will be happy to tell everyone to put on a gas mask and eat plenty of fiber--you'll all be fine once you've excreted it.

John, having been exposed to the H.O.U.N.D gas before, will know how to handle it once they realize what it does. He'll be concerned with making sure others aren't exposed often, since that can lead to violent outbursts and self harm. If he does get caught up in it, however, expect Afghanistan flashbacks and soldier!John.

So... Anyone who wants him to go military captain on their ass feel free to let me know!

Thorfinn is not exactly a run away from things that are really really freaking him out kind of guy so he will probably try to actually get stabby with the fog... As for what he sees, well a little further along in his canon from the point I take him from Thorfinn starts having nightmares about what I can only describe as half rotted zombie vikings continuously killing each other and reviving themselves... so I'll probably be using that.

Jay will most likely freak out because he will be seeing Slenderman and Masky, both at differant times. One: He'll be out and around the the fog will effect him causing him to see Slenderman standing near him, coming closer towards him. While stumbling away he'll probably hurt himself and have to crawl painfully to 'safety'. When he believes he's safe he'll sleep in his room, waking up a few hours later to see totheark standing over him with a knife about to attack him.

So here's another straggler (I'm feeling those eyes on my back, Koji). Clint Barton isn't the jumpiest kind of guy but if you know his canon you know he's got plenty on his mind that he'd fear. I'm very tempted to have him turn into a nervous wreck this round, and a dangerous nervous wreck at that.
Approach with caution during exposure because he probably has a knife? Anyone feel like having fun with this?

Jim Moriarty meanwhile will also be affected, but will likely catch on quickly and then try to avoid the fog as much as possible. OR if you'd like to play with this some. Ideas are very welcome. As is CR. Please help?

So I'm short on memories to work with for Blaine, at least in terms of things that happened at Eway because...well, this is his first week here.

I am considering using his memory of being beaten up after the Sadie Hawkins dance at his old school (which he went to with another guy), but would love to hear advice/opinions on the matter. I don't want to tread any lines by basically recreating a hate crime, if people feel like that would be inappropriate so INPUT IS MUCH APPRECIATED HERE.

For the record, input could definitely include alternatives to having him be affected, if someone's looking for CR of that sort.

Loki will be affected by the fog but he'll understand the jist of it quite quickly. Expect him to walk around just really fucking scared and trying to not look too scared He's been through this U_U.

His fears mostly come forth from the guilt he feels over Thor's death and the fear of becoming who he used to be. So zombie-Thors and vivid images from all the things he has done are a thing.

Clint needs to threaten the kid at some point, I believe. Loki should really just walk away if that happens.

Thor is going to be pretty badly affected by the fog! His fears involve himself being mistaken in trusting little Loki and little Loki turning out to be evil all along. Sooo he'll probably be seeing dead friends and destruction everywhere.

He's going to be very hostile and kind of jumpy.

Alex was going to have a break from terror and sadness but NEVER MIND THIS IS MORE FUN

To be honest, Alex has already seen a lot of his worst fears up close and personal in real life, so he might be able to put up with it a bit longer than some people. (Yes I know I'm failing to go for the most traumatic thing possible I must be losing my touch.) But he'll be seeing splicerselves and faceless blokes and all sorts of nonsense in that fog.

I doubt I'll be able to resist him getting into trouble.
