[The video flips on early in the morning to display an obviously tired Beiste. She'd awoken in the middle of the night to pee and had been returning to bed when she noticed something wasn't quite right in her room. The feed clearly shows her in a hallway, leaning against a wall.]
You know, this place is gettin' a little fog-happy. I saw some filtering in through the air vent in my room a couple minutes ago. I didn't like the look of it so I just up and left. We should maybe group up so nobody's got their back on this stuff. Can't be too careful, considering people turned to stone last time.
I'm gonna take a look around, see if there's any pattern to when the fog comes out. So far I've only seen it come into my room, but chances are this thing isn't just about confining us to the hallways or outdoors. If anyone wants to help out, I'd appreciate it.
[She can't help but picture the stuff descending suddenly on her head, sucking out her last breath instantaneously. It's not a pretty picture.
Beiste can be found meticulously walking the halls, making mental notes of when and where she sees the fog.]

[How should they do this?]
Can you take a look through the tearooms? Maybe the gas is just aiming at our rooms.

[This being helpful thing was strange to her.]
Be careful.

[video because it's a rather nice function]
[Evelyn isn't wearing a gas mask now, but there's one sitting in her lap. Her room is devoid of the fog.]
[quite]
[Beiste spots the mask and nods at it.]
I thought of that before but-- well, I guess I assumed they wouldn't work.

[It moves more on a whim than it does with purpose. Evelyn acknowledges the nod.]
And I've spent enough time around victims of chemical warfare to know that we should always assume the worst.

When she returns, she too sets it in her lap. Seems rude to wear it when she's not in any danger, somehow.]
So what you're saying is it's moving how it wants?

[She wishes she had a better grasp on what it does, though.]

It's like it's alive.
