[video/text] 'cause it's too darn hot
[PUBLIC VIDEO TRANSMISSION]
Do the mirrors seem different to anyone?
[In a vain attempt to mask the overwhelming desires that have been growing steadily since yesterday, Evelyn broaches a keg of intellectual intercourse in the hopes that it might distract from most impure thoughts.
Impure used loosely, as there is nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to carnal pleasures, but the subject is certainly inappropriate in polite conversation, and for some odd reason it's all her mind appears to be fixated on. Try as she might, Evie finds it difficult to divert herself without addressing the Wonderland public.
So here she is, sitting in one of the curious rooms with the questionable decor, less bothered by the bloodstains on the walls than she ought to be, begging for a mental deterrent...]
[PRIVATE TEXT TO PHILIP]
Darling, I need your advice.
[...or perhaps succumbing to those peculiar voices extolling the virtues of physicality.]

[PRIVATE TEXT TO PHILIP]
Darling, I need your advice.
[...or perhaps succumbing to those peculiar voices extolling the virtues of physicality.]

text;
He ignores it when it mocks him for being miserable and alone, because his friends are gone forever and it's only a matter of time before Evelyn joins them, and he keeps ignoring it when it whispers what a wonderful idea it would be to use the time they have left to tear off Evie's clothes, not caring who watches when he fucks her against the nearest surface.
Presently he's standing in the hallway of their newest mansion redesign, absent-mindedly whistling the chorus of Starship's Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now while examining the stock of a very peculiar vending machine. ]
About what?
text;
It's not her fault, really.]
I've got a new outfit on and I want your opinion.
text ==> ACTION!
...Stopping only when he realises just how fast he is walking. ]
Christ, what am I thinking?
[ he mutters to himself and shakes his head. No wonder with all the bloody decor here though. Bloody decor and decor that actually appears to be smeared with blood. Odd, usually Wonderland is at least a little more subtle with its-- ah, there he is.
A deep breath and Philip enters their room. ]
...Evie?
Action~
Love hotels aren't all that easy to find in the early nineteen-hundreds. Not going by that name, anyway. They tend to be little more than brothels. While Evie finds the round beds rather curious, she doesn't exactly equate them with midnight rendezvous.]
Hello.
[Evelyn smiles coyly, perched on the stool in front of the room's mirrored vanity. She smoothes the fabric of her robe over the...ah...new outfit and crosses her legs.]
action~~~~~~ forever
Hello.
[ Oh.
Love hotels are easy enough to find in the early twenty-first century, at least if you're interested in looking. Philip never was, but taking a fairly accurate stab at the nature of this particular mansion seemed rather easy to him all the same.
...Which makes it all the more surprising to see Evie apparently readily playing along with the theme. A moment jaded by Philip's suspicion of anything that stems from Wonderland's suggestions, no matter how... appealing the suggestion might be. ]
Your new outfit?
[ A small nod towards her. As if it needed clarification. But it really is a terribly appealing suggestion... ]
HELP I'M DROWNING IN ~~~~~~~~~~
Do you not like it?
[True, she hasn't worn a corset in bloody ages, not since they really went out of fashion, but Evie always rather liked how they went with her dresses at her parents' parties: straight-backed and form-fitting, much more flattering to the female figure than these new bandeau tops everyone is wearing in the jazz clubs.]
/THROWS YOU LIFELINE.... MADE OF ~~~~~~~~
That's, uh... no, that's not what I meant.
[ ...that's not what he meant at all.
And potentially peculiar event or not he would hate to give off that impression for one second longer, so he caves just a little further to the voices and does exactly what's been on his mind from the very moment he saw Evie like that. ]
It's getting cold. If we're going out you might need another layer,
[ he begins and sits down behind Evie, his thoughtful consideration perhaps not as thoughtful or serious as the deadpan delivery suggests. ]
But if you thought about staying in...
[ If you really thought about playing along with the event...
His fingers wander around her sides, entwining in front of her stomach. He places a kiss on her shoulder. ]
GDI
[Evelyn sniffs imperiously, managing to sound hoity-toity in nothing but her undergarments. No matter how much she'd like to go outside, the doors in the foyer have been locked since the beginning of this event and the Mansion won't allow her any of her usual baggy sweaters.
Her fingers play over his hands briefly, and Evie turns to look at Philip over her shoulder.]
Perhaps, [comes the quiet suggestion,] If we are to stay in, we ought to ensure privacy.
[She punctuates the last word with a not-so-subtle squeeze of his thigh.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somewhere in the back of his mind those questions play in a loop, over and over again, desperately hoping to be heard. Somewhere in the front another thought drowns them out effortlessly and completely.
Shhhh, just enjoy yourself... ]
Well, if you're sure we won't be entertaining guests--
[ Then Philip might have to let his hands wander lightly up her chest as he stands up. Then he might have to fetch that key and lock the door.
Then they might have to entertain each other. ]
Kinda don't want to stand too close to them. I mean, what if the people on the other side are gonna come through?
[videooooo]
[Evelyn screws up her face for a moment, thinking.]
...I suppose we could start breaking them if anyone tries to come through?
no subject
[She scratches awkwardly at her neck.]
Of course, I'm already...feelin' kinda weird.
[Evelyn is polite, she isn't about to say aroused or horny. However, between girls...]
...I believe Santana Lopez described it as being...um...turned on.
no subject
...You could say that, maybe.
no subject
[She sounds exasperated, glad that someone else can relate.]
Every time I open the closet door, there's a new pile of undergarments, and I don't very much like the Mansion trying to choose my wardrobe for me.
[Kinda funny. But for once, Beiste holds in her instinctive giggles.]
Uh. I suppose the only food we're gonna get is chocolate and oysters then, huh?
no subject
Heavens, I should hope not! That sounds terribly bad for digestion.
I don't like the new rooms. They're too strange. I'm not sure people should be using them.
[She catches the rambling tone in her voice and bites her lip for a moment, then tilts her head to try and get a look at the room behind Evie.]
What's wrong with the mirrors?
Video
They have an odd sheen about them, they look unusual.
[Evelyn pauses, leaning to one side and offering the girl a view of the full-length mirror behind her before asking:]
I don't think we've met before. What's your name?
Video
[She subconsciously cranes her head a little, narrowing her eyes at the mirror.]
... Have you tried covering it up? Maybe you could put a blanket over it?
[She puts a hand to her forehead as she looks at the mirror, idly rubbing her temple. After a moment she looks back to Evelyn, pointedly avoiding the mirror.]
Video
[She smiles, though the expression is somewhat less bright and genuine than usual. This event has already begun plaguing her mind with voices.]
To be honest, I'm considering it.
Video
[Eleanor's mind is already on unsteady ground after a lifetime of modification and experimentation. She's not as bad as someone like Sollux, hearing voices all the time, but the sudden upscale in psychic meddling isn't sitting well with her at all. Voices telling her, a girl who can throw things across the room or set them on fire with her mind, to give in to her base desires. She's not even sure if she can trust herself anymore.]
Do you have a closet? Maybe you could put it in there. I'm... not sure if it will help, though.
Video
[The mirror on her vanity, the one on the back of the door, the ones in the bathroom, and...well. Those few on the ceiling, above the beds. Cough.]
And every time I open the closet...
[A slight grimace. Each time she's opened said closet, it gives her a set of handcuffs, a silk tie, some rope. Questionable material, to say the least,]
Video
Yes, well. I don't suppose just breaking them is an option, is it?
[She considers offering to burn them for the woman, but she's not confident in her ability to keep it controlled with all of these temptations and voices about.]
Video
How many years of bad luck are you willing to risk?
[She says with a weary smile. Evie was never very supersticious, but after Imhotep came back from the dead, there's very little she wouldn't put stock in anymore.]
