+ Twas the night before Ewaymas (Part One) +
It’s that time of the year, kids! Eway’s annual Christmas event! And for those of you who just joined us, welcome! Sit down, take a cup of cocoa, and make yourselves at home. You’ve shown up at a great time and we’re happy to have you. ♥
Tonight, at the stroke of midnight (or any time after this post is posted, really), the mansion will begin its usual noisy one-night decorating spree. Garland will race down the halls, holly will be hauled out, and the biggest Christmas tree anyone’s ever seen will spring up in the front hall, growing right out of the floor (with both traditional ornaments and ornaments with the faces of everyone unfortunate enough to be stuck in Wonderland for Christmas). Those halls will be decked so hard they won’t know what hit them. It will be very loud and clattery and jingley and it might just keep some people up all night.
When morning comes, the mansion will quiet down and the decorating will be done. However, it’s a litt...odd. Normally it hits everything, but the doors that appeared after Halloween are untouched for some reason, and the decorations go around them awkwardly. For those of you who weren’t here, there are a lot of random doors scattered through the mansion of various shapes, sizes, colors, types, etc. And there is one for each person in the mansion even if you were not here for Halloween.
Now, just as a reminder (and since we’ve gotten a few people since then) these doors are all locked, and they are scattered all across the mansion. Your character on the first floor might have a door on the tenth floor, or in the library, or in the attic. The doors are unique to each person, but they might not be instantly recognizable. Some might be doors from people’s worlds that might mean something to them. Others might be basic wooden doors, steel doors, sliding doors, high-tech doors, but still doors that might not be obviously connected to a particular person.
Every character will also have a stocking somewhere, but those will be labeled with their names in glitter glue. They will seem pretty empty, but anyone who looks inside will find some kind of key. There will be keys of all different kinds – ornate metal ones, basic house keys, pieces of paper with number codes on them, any kind of key you can imagine. They could even reach into their stocking and find nothing, only to notice a bar code stamped on their arm afterwards, or maybe that their eye suddenly feels funny.
And, surprise surprise – that key matches and unlocks one of the doors. Your character’s door.
If they do make the connection, and figure out which door is theirs based on their key (or trial and error), one of a few different things might be behind their door.
1) A Word: A single, forgotten word that Wonderland took away from them in a previous event. It will rush back at them all at once, in a flash of while light, and they will suddenly remember that thing they forgot, and realize it had been missing all this time. Once the light passes, only an empty room will be left behind.
2) The Past: A different kind of memory – a lengthy one. Not necessarily one that was forgotten, but possibly something that hasn’t been thought about in a while. They’ll be inserted into the scene, but unable to change the events – a holographic moment that plays out around them. Because it’s the past, it’s based on only what the person who opened the door remembers.
3) An Alternate: Almost a memory. It would start much like The Past rooms, but it veers off-course, showing something that had the potential to be. A choice you could have made, but didn’t. Something that could have happened, but didn’t. A memory that is only a memory because it was witnessed in this room.
4) The Future: A potential memory – also a lengthy one. Another moment to watch, but this time it’s something in the future, something that might happen, but hasn’t yet. Something that gives information, or reveals something. It doesn’t have to be an event that will happen, because just the fact that the character knows about it could change it.
Numbers 2, 3, and 4 can be based on Wonderland memories, even the future one. This is because it’s just one of infinite possible futures, so what they see doesn’t have to be what will actually happen, though you could try and connect the dots and see common possibilities between rooms. You can only pick one though, so if they get a word back, they won’t see the future, and if they see the future, they won’t relive a past memory and so on.
However, there is a catch. The doors only open once, and then once the person leaves the room, the door vanishes forever. So, you might not want to rush and go open your door immediately (though I’m sure there are characters who would). You might want to wait for Part 2 of Ewaymas, which is coming tomorrow night (12/17) though, because there’s another twist coming up very shortly, once The Queen of Hearts gets wind of all these keys being passed around.
There will be a FAQ thread, as usual, and if enough people comment with where their doors are/what they look like, I’ll edit the post (because I know some of you would probably like it for reference). You’re also welcome to come up with things that could be behind your character’s doors, but don’t feel like you have to commit just yet – there’s still one more thing about them that you’ll find out tomorrow. ♥
I’ll see you guys again tomorrow night with a Queen post and a post for Part Two! Have lots of fun and spread the holiday cheer!

Basically his mentor dies, his empire of medical schools gets shut down, and his family leaves him penniless.
All his hopes and dreams are going to be smashed p. much.
but if possible the future door is going to hint at hope for a better future after all this. (because it gets better.)
His door is going to be a hospital OR door. It'll be in the attic.
edit: oh yeah and he may or may not be wearing this getup.

Kurt might have either the actual past with that secret Karofsky memory, or a slightly altered version of it. Or ahaha I think he forgot slushie? MAYBE HE'LL GET THAT WORD BACK AND FLINCH AT THE WHITE LIGHT, LIKE SOMEONE'S THROWING IT AT HIM. His door is a red door that looks a little bit like copyright infringement on the second floor, somewhere in the 600's.
James, of course, would see his inevitable future outside of Wonderland. His door is a large wooden door (like one that might be in an old castle hint hint) and it's on the third floor of the library.
And The Once-ler...he would probably see his dark future too, and it might be good for him, but ahaha this one's (probably) not actually going to happen (though I'm sure the Lorax would love it, in a "Scrooge meets the ghost of Christmas future" kind of way 8T). His door is really tall, and easily identifiable because by Suessian law, every door related to the Once-ler has to have a large "The Once-ler" sign on it. This basically canon. To make up for that, his door is going to be in the Pool Area, on the second floor. I'm not sure the Once-ler even knows there IS a pool.

OKAY OKAY.
Beiste will have a single normalish key on a too-large key ring. It's clearly meant to hold a lot more keys than this one-- that's because it's the key to the boy's locker room at McKinley. I'm not sure which way to go yet, but some of the options for a past memory would be 1) that time Sue and Will ordered a bunch of pizzas to her name or 2) when Cooter hit her. 2 leans me more towards an AU though, tbh. I don't know about future stuff yet sob. Or mansion memories. Dang.
John will get an ornate key that opens up a very old-looking door. It's from LOWAS. John's memories will probably depend on the twist ;; I'D HATE TO WASTE THE WORD ON HIM sorry ;____;
George will get an apartment key that opens to an average looking door with some numbers on it which I don't remember because it's been a while since I saw that episode. Past/AU memory ideas: eating breakfast with her dad, seeing her mom at the garage sale after she died, JD's death, sleeping with Santana, Buckingham killing her...etc.
Lorax will get uhh. Um. What is the animal version of a key. A pinecone? A pinecone that you throw at a door that looks like a tree stump and then he gets sucked in??? Sure okay. And his memories would probably be the Bed In The River Incident or perhaps That Time The Once-Ler Blatantly Broke His Mother Lumping Promise. Or something.

Anyway, Kyle's door will probably show him everyone thinking he and Cartman are a couple because it will piss him off and pissing off Kyle is fun. And then he will hate Christmas even more!
Pinkie Pie is going to struggle to not eat her key because it is too delicious! Silly mansion, don't give Pinkie Pie edible things that she needs for stuff. Her door will be really obvious and glittery and pink. There will be tinsel all around it for sure.

Minato's Key looks like the World Arcana card but shinier since it's the Universe Arcana.
Plus it's Christmas, so... Christmas is always a nice and special time of year. XD

Buckingham will find this ring in his stocking and be very eager to open this door with it.
Philip will find a severed head and a severed hand in his stocking. Good times! He'll suspect that there is a matching palm and retina scanner around somewhere, but be in no particular hurry to find it.

Athos will find this key in his stocking and is perfectly content with shooting his mirror if the man tries to take it. His door smells a bit brackish and looks a bit damp, and when he enters he'll find a FUTURE "memory:" himself and his son, struggling to kill each other in the ocean while his friends look on until the future!Athos drowns his progeny.
Evelyn will not be able to find her key to her door, because her mirror has taken it to offer to the Red Queen. If she were able to visit her room, she would find a past memory of herself and Jonathan as children, curled up in front of the fireplace listening to their father and mother tell stories in the family house at Oxfordshire over the holidays.
