I. video/action (dated to the dawn of July 23rd)

[ The video opens in darkness, the only sound to be heard the gentle movement of waves lapping against the shore. However, the very moment a tinge of light begins to creep over the horizon, a Voice begins to sing.

It is a Song the likes of which few have ever heard before. It rises as the light grows stronger, swelling with the tide and soaring as a bird may fly. It resonates in the air as well as the earth, a happy sound that could make even the most solemn of men dance to its melody.

The brightness of the morning spills over the waves, glistening with the newness of day. The Song crescendos finally as the sun peaks in the sky, only to diminish and fade into the sounds of the sea.

A few moments pass before the Singer finally appears. Great paws, golden and velveted all, appear first as he steps into view. A large, shaggy lion pads silently to the water edge, the breeze rustling its mane.

He stands there for a little while before turning and walking down the beach. ]

It is the nature of friends to protect one another. Though not all are equipped to engage in battle, such strength does not always last.

[ Though his words are solemn, the look in his eyes is kind. Gently, he brushes the spot over her heart with the back of his paw. ]

It is the strength you will find here that shall not pass away.

[ He listens, and overall, he finds her evaluation sound. Narnia was not without its more magical, mysterious places, but there has always been order there -- an order designed by himself and the word of the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea.

There is much less of that here, and he finds it odd. ]

It may very well be so.

[ Whether it's true or not, it bears investigating. ]

[ It is so in many places.

And it is unfortunate in every case.

What good is there to be found here? ]

[ Aslan nods once. ]

[ Not quite the Song of Beginnings, which is more powerful and infinite in scope, but similar in certain aspects. He smiles. ]

[ Oh, Jacuzzi. Though he does not smile, amusement shines in his eyes. ]

[ Though notice, he didn't say he never does it. ]

[ Yes, it was. ]

[ Aslan considers the mansion, but- well, really, a lion doesn't have much use for a bedroom. He is a True Beast, and though he can change his form as he wishes, this is the one that suits him best. ]

The forest may suit me better.

[ A lion on a bed....such an image that is.

He tilts his head at the entrance. ]

What can you tell me of it?

The moon and stars are no less so.

[ Lovely, that is. ]

Do you find them more to your liking?

[aslandish]

[ Something like him. What does a Creator take away from being removed from his own world and placed in another?

The answer, perhaps surprisingly, is not long in coming. ]

I have been many things for many different people.

[ A guide, a comforter, a savior, and so much more. Aslan has never restricted himself to simply standing above and watching those he considers his children. Their struggles are his, and though he only rarely interferes, he is in no way detached from the happenings of the world. ]

So long as I am here, I will continue to be as I always have.

It is, indeed.

[ And there: a real, lion smile for you, Aziraphale. He is happy this morning. ]

[A lion, smiling. Even though he has never seen one before, an animal smiling still strikes him as odd. He tilts his head a little.]

[Her answer was polite, firm, and brooked no argument or commentary. It was exactly the sort of 'no' that carried the unspoken rider: '...and I don't intend to do it just because you've asked, but if I do, it will be on my own time, so don't bother hinting that I ought to.'

Oddly enough, despite the length and relative specificity of that subtext, this was probably the most common flavor of the word 'no.' ]

I trust him with my life.

[Which does not surprise Sephiroth, not as much as when he had first realized it. But his trust of Zack does run that deeply; it is why he respects that though his lieutenant will always be there to help, Sephiroth will not overburden him with truths that are hard to hear. It is best for him to keep his silence about what has been revealed to him; perhaps he can find out more and perhaps not, but he knows he need not burden Zack unnecessarily.

He is still trying to decide how he feels about it all anyway.]

There may come a time when I feel it is right for us to talk. But that time is not now, not when he is so burdened.

As will I though what I am and what I do has been altered by this place. Perhaps it is time that I picked up a new hobby.

[Death is being sarcastic as usual. In this case, it is good-natured and not dismissive. In the presence of those not unlike himself in the scope of a higher existence, he tends to take on a more unique tone.]

As much as you can do as you did wherever you come from, it will not alter the fate of those that now reside here. If this place intends for them to resurrect then they will resurrect. If they are sent back then they are sent back without warning.

I suppose though that some would call that an adventure.

Here? No... Not often. I've only been in this place for a short time. I found myself here as I was contemplating our situation.

Uhhh. It's magic? But it's not a kind I know. Doesn't seem to care about what's natural or anything. Things can just kinda appear in closets, if you want them. It's nice and all, but it doesn't seem right, you know?

[He sighs, rubs a hand down his face.] And that don't even get into the events. Every couple weeks, something really weird happens. We start acting differently, or everything here changes. Once we went to my world, but it...wasn't my world. Not really.
