Accidental Video
[Poor Tohru's been working incredible amounts of overtime lately.
Aerith vanished not long after Ruby did - and Tohru is sad, of course, and she will always miss them both, but she's barely had any time to grieve. She just launched herself right back into her work, because if she didn't, then who would run the diner?!
She knows without another cook or two that the diner can't possibly survive much longer, but she's barely had a minute to even think about that. For the last several weeks she's practically lived in the diner, and when the diner had moments of slowness she's had her nose in books, trying to teach herself some of the recipes that Ruby had never gotten the chance to. She's doing everything she can, and she's appreciated all of the help she's received, even if all of her offers have been for waiting tables and washing dishes.
Very early this morning, the camera catches Tohru...sleeping. She's sitting in one of the booths with a rag in her hand and her head resting on her arm. It's entirely obvious what happened - she was cleaning up and closing when she just started to nod off, exhausted from her long days. She might have thought that she'd just rest her eyes for just a minute or two, and then just...accidentally fell asleep there for the night.
And that's it. That's the video. Just a small glimpse at how tired she's been. First person to turn up gets to wake her up, everyone else still gets a mortified Tohru who is super embarrassed that the network caught her sleeping that way, oh no!]

[She might have been a little sore at first, but it's faded now. Besides, she has too much to do to be sore, and so she will be fine through sheer force of will! Yes!]
Really? You would do that? [She sounds incredibly grateful already.] That's wonderful! I could really use the help around here, and it really means the world to me! So thank you! Thank you so much!
[She's not exactly in a position to say no, after all. She needs the help desperately.]
If there's anything you want to know, tell me right away and I'll do my best to teach you!
[action]
[Al laughs and nods, smiling widely.] Of course! It's no problem at all. Maybe once we get things set up for the day here, you can show me around the kitchen? I'll probably need a bit of help the first few days, since I'm used to using a campfire to cook rather than a stove.
[action]
[Either that, or maybe he just really likes reading? He sounds like a fascinating person either way.]
Ah, sure thing! I'd love to. Oh, and maybe I might be able to help then! I wouldn't say I was an expert at it, but I've cooked over a campfire too! You see, I lived in a tent for a little while, so I didn't have a kitchen then and I had to make due with what I had. B-But it all turned out fine, so I'll happily teach you anything I can!
[action]
You lived in a tent? Why? Did something happen to your house? [The way Tohru tries to brush it off just makes it seem even more suspicious, really.]
[action]
[Miss Tohru lives under a rock, you see. Or more accurately, alchemy isn't a real thing in her world.]
O-Oh! Well, I was living with my grandfather, and his house needed to be renovated. He asked if I could stay with some friends and I said yes...but my friends all live in small places, and I didn't want to be a bother to them when they've been so good to me all this time. There wasn't really room, so...I decided to try and live on my own for a little while!
[action]
[...oh, Tohru.]
Wha--how long were you living like that? I'm sure your friends would have been willing to make room for a while so you could have a roof over your head!
[action]
Oh, wow! That's really incredible! It...still sounds really confusing to me, but you both must be really smart to know how to do it! And that's amazing!
[She shakes her head at the rest of it though, waving it off like it's nothing.]
O-Oh no, I couldn't possibly have imposed on them like that! I mean, I know they would have, but I wouldn't have felt right living off of their generosity like that.
