+ Chess Event Part 2 +

The chess game is over and Tweedledum's Mirror team has won! As soon as checkmate is declared, all remaining real things vanish from the chessboard, while all of the captured Mirrors return, fully healed of any wounds. They are informed that they have won the game and will be awarded their prize tomorrow. Then they, too, vanish from the board.

Until the following morning, these sixteen participants in the chess game are incommunicado. Where are they? It's not that important until Tuesday morning. However, members of the Black team will wake up in their own rooms, completely healed of any chess-related wounds.

On Tuesday, characters on the real side will wake up feeling that something isn't quite right. This feeling persists over the next few days until, by Friday, they will have realized its source (some of them more quickly than others).

What is wrong is this: some of their friends and castmates have been replaced by their Mirror counterparts. At first, all characters will believe that these replacements are the real things. However, the longer they are around these Mirror replacements, the more they realize that their behavior and personalities clash with actual memories of the individuals. For instance, a character might remember being very good friends with someone--so their sudden distant behavior, which at first seemed normal, doesn't make much sense.

You've probably guessed it by now, but the replacement real things are the sixteen Mirrors from the White chess team. Although they remember that they used to be Mirrors, they now believe that they are the real things and that they always will be the real things. Since everyone else's mentality has been altered to accommodate them, this assumption is only logical, right?

As for the sixteen real things that were replaced? They're stuck on the other side of the mirrors, of course. They know what's happened and probably can't understand why all of their friends think those impostors are them. However, for the moment, they're powerless to do anything about it.

The sixteen humans from the Black chess team remain on the normal side of the mirrors and are free to go about their lives normally--or as normally as they can with sixteen not-Mirrors running around, thinking they're real. (The exception is Minato and Hanna, because their mirrors were in the game with them, and therefore they will be switched.)

Edit: Herp derp, I forgot to explain how posting will work. Mirror characters who are on the real side will post in their real version's journal, but responses to comments should be made using the mirror character's journal. Real characters who are on the Mirrorside will post in mirroruniverse during the time they're there. If your character isn't a member of the comm, put in a request and we'll get to it right away.

How does posting work for this? Real things post in Mirror Universe? Mirrors (who are now "real things") use their real equivalent's journal, but say something like: "All replies will be made with X character's mirror journal" instead?

One more - The mirrors believe they are now real things. But any previous interactions or CR they've had will remain the same?

For instance realMark's office has got some stuff in it that M!Mark would never keep around. Notes that M!Mark wouldn't write/doesn't remember writing, some daughter-stuff, etc.

I guess I'm asking how detailed is the illusion?
Would Mark's office be altered to exclude those items? Would M!Mark's memories be altered to conveniently excuse those items? How well would those excuses stand up under scrutiny?

I am probably overthinking this whole thing.

Actual question: will the regulars who were left behind continue to think that the mirror replacements are real things, no matter how well those mirrors match the regulars' recollections of, well, the mirrors? Example because I'm trying and failing to word that more clearly: Alex knows that mirror Lamb is fire and drugs and cake, and that regular Lamb is not. The Lamb on this side is fire and bees and cake. Is it just not an option for him to work out what's happened?

HI THERE, SEES. Say hello to your new leader~! Mirror!Minato is going to be happy about this, but also really worried about his real counterpart, but isn't going to say he is. Why ruin a good thing? He's REAL now. Shinjiro better watch his back. Just sayin'. Oh, and Yuu, he'll want to talk to you too. XD Let's hope for no emotional breakdowns.

Minato in the meantime will be chilling on the mirror side, trying to keep tabs on his mirror and make sure he's... stable. Perhaps there will be a search for the Queen's chambers. And figure out a way to tell people on the real side what's going on. He'll want to chill with his friends who ended up with him, and talk to mirrors (mirror!Yuu, mirror!Conan, mirror!Japan, mirror!Yousuke, etc.) too in person now because he can. ^-^

Mirror!Akihiko will hit on people...and not truly mean it. Any gender, and humanoid thing over the age of 15. That's his thing. But it's not meant to be cruel; he's afraid of making -real- friends. And he's also VERY VERY VERY afraid of fire. If you want him gone? Seriously, light a candle and hold it near him. He also would like to art with Terezi As time passes, the reals can note that his speech/vocab are much different from Akihiko's, and the fact that he mostly just lounges about and takes everything at a relaxed pace should be a warning too. Exercising? He doesn't do that.

And Akihiko is still kind of sick from the pancake incident. Any kindly mirrors who would keep an eye out for him?

So, situation:

Spencer is going to be pissed. So very beyond pissed you cannot fathom. She is going to be seeking a way out, lack of fighting ability be damned because hell if she's letting her mirror run amok.

M!Spencer will be thinking it's about damn time. Santana, she'll be coming to find you. Anyone else...well, this Spencer's a bitch. This is Spencer if she'd allowed herself to be more like Ali. Clashes, making friends with people her real never would, I'm up for anything and everything.

Feferi will be rather confused by all the changes until she begins to figure a few things out. Anyone who wants to plot anything with her, I'm game. Her mirror will be unimpressed. Anyone who got used to sweet, cheerful Feferi is in for a shock because her mirror is pretty much what Eridan has always wanted the real Fef to be - she's ruthless, proud and that hemospectrum? Damn right it's important.

Bro hasn't really been here long enough to really notice the changes so he'll just go with the flow. I'm open for anything with him though. And he doesn't have a mirror yet because I can't decide how to make him (though I'm leaning towards him being very similar only he hates puppets)
