{ video } To be in love with the masterpiece
[ Buckingham, being the magnificent and universally beloved god that he is, has been utterly undeterred by Wonderland's musical program for the weekend. Wonderland's last event however, with its drab and colourless days, has reminded him of a long overdue matter in need of transmission: ]
My good people of Wonderland, if I might have a moment of your day! [ Pause to imagine the resounding Of course, Your Grace! and: ] My home knows me as George Villiers, their Duke of Buckingham, and you may as well, should... I've not yet been so fortunate as to make your acquaintance in person.
[ Cue the winning smile and kindest of kind unspoken thanks for enduring the formalities of such an introduction. As for the matter at hand: ]
I speak to you on behalf of the gallery I installed here some months ago, you... may have celebrated its grand opening on the third floor, just... near the library doors, room number four. I would certainly recommend a visit to all who have since arrived, but today I particularly address anybody who... might wish to aid in expanding its selection.
[ Buckingham nods to the scene behind him, and shifts slightly to grant a brief view of some of the works on display. ]
Wonderland houses such a wealth of artists, and I would urge you to call on me, should you ever desire to... share your work with us. We shall find it a deserving place at the gallery as soon as possible. I would extend the same offer to those who have acquired pieces from the vendors or elsewhere, and care to make them available to the public.
[ Cue once more heavy on the smiling, as the duke reaches to end the transmission. ]
I thank you kindly for your time, and hope the... rest of the day finds you well.
[[ OOC: You can find a little more info on the gallery here, and use that post anytime to have your character contribute art, regardless of whether you would like them to thread with Buckingham or not! If you have any gallery questions, just PM this account or ping me over at

action;
You've outdone yourself, they are marvels!
[ His dear Musketeers, he recognises them well. Doctor Lecter as well, though with no such fondness. The ones he cannot have leave no impression, at least none that would have him lament their loss. The remaining two... ah yes, Master McDonald, and... and... Steve Rogers, wasn't it? ]
You're quite right, of course, they are no novelty, but they are... ours, and what better works to grace our gallery, than such delightful renditions of familiar features?
[ He waves his hand decidedly at the two portraits of McDonald and Rogers. ]
This one and that one I would steal from you for sure, and-- [ His hand stops and draws back at the likeness of Dr Lecter. ] ...Master Lecter I wouldn't dare feature without express permission, he seems... ever so private a man, I should loathe to expose him more than it pleases.
[ And now for the true masterpieces. ]
...Miss Elizabeth, I would... involve you in a little scheme of mine. I forget how long ago it was, but perhaps you've gathered that... Master Porthos has joined us in Wonderland as well.
[ He grins at her excitedly, and nods at the Musketeers' portraits. ]
How would you like to make another painting of him, so that we might display our four heroes together? A corner for The Four Musketeers, wouldn't it be wonderful?
action;
And who would object to a painting of someone as handsome as Steve?
As for the idea of adding Porthos to the collection, Elizabeth brightens right up.]
What a fantastic idea!
[Heroes that they are, they should be on display for everyone to admire. She can be the only one in Wonderland who has heard of their heroics, even if she's told time and again that the book is not the same thing as real life.]
action;
[ He nods at the portraits of Lindsey and Steve again. ]
Then with your leave I shall take these two to the gallery at once, and- [ A glance at the Musketeers. ] -would you have me store the others in the meantime, or keep them with you until the... collection is complete?
action;
[That way he doesn't have to store them in the meantime.]
action;
action;
[She wasn't sure what she'd do with so many paintings. At least now they'll hang somewhere. Elizabeth will see him out. Now all she has to do is track down Porthos and get him to sit for a final portrait.]
