Korra | Legend of Korra

[This wasn't the vacation Korra had in mind when she had stepped into the Spirit World hand in hand with Asami. Really, she'd been looking for something a whole lot more romantic and a whole lot less insane. But maybe it was foolish of her to think she'd ever get something that nice. The Avatar's work is never done, after all.

She's outside meditating today, trying to use her connection to the Spirit World and the Earth to sense the shape of Wonderland, figure out how it's all connected. Mostly, it's just frustratingly unclear. But it was worth a try. She sighs and gets up. Well, at least her bending still works. She stretches, then starts going through a few basic motions for each element: swirling some water from the fountain out and around her head before sending it back in, then shifting her foot into a more solid position to raise a bonder and send it flying. She punches out too small blasts of flame before swirling her staff into a kite and taking off into the air.

Yep, she's still got this at least.]

[ No, not the kind of vacation she'd planned at all. She hadn't known what to expect when they crossed the portal in to the Spirit World, but there's something lacking this place that feels a lot less...Spirity. Her experience with spirits is limited, but even the vines in Republic City have a life of their own. This is new, of course, but it's walls and stairs and things she can recognize.

And no Korra.

At least, when she initially woke up. It's after some wandering that she's lucky enough to happen upon the Avatar. She'd recognize her silhouette anywhere, especially when it's several yards above the ground. ]

Korra!

[ Asami calls out from a distance away, waving. ]

Asami? [Korra can't be hearing that wrong, can she? She swoops down towards the sound of Asami's voice, then shouts out in delight.]

Asami!

[No, not the vacation she'd planned at all, but at least the person she'd planned on taking it with is here. She lands, swirling her glider back into a staff, then drops it altogether in favor of rushing forward and pulling Asami up into a hug that lifts her off the ground.]

It's really you. You're here!

[ It's a relief. It's a complete and total relief to find Korra, for more reasons than one. She'd been so worried that they'd gotten separated and while she's confident that Korra can handle herself, it doesn't mean that she should have to, not after everything that's happened.

She only needs to take a few steps forward before Korra covers the rest of the distance. There's a happy laugh that follows as she's lifted off the ground, wrapping her arms around Korra's shoulders. ]

I'm so glad I found you!

Me too, I was so worried. [She sets Asami down, but her arms are still looped around her waist. She smiles, leaning in a little.]

I thought something had gone wrong with the portal.

[ She doesn't let go either, sees no reason to. She'd left to spend some time with Korra, after all, even if this isn't exactly how she imagined it going. Then again, there were few ideas that Asami had held about the Spirit World, she's just sure that this...isn't it. ]

This isn't the Spirit World at all, is it?

No, or if it is, it's a part of it I've never seen. [Which is possible. The Spirit World is vast and inexplicable, even to the Avatar. Still, she frowns, glancing away.] But it doesn't feel like the Spirit World. And the people I've met here are definitely not spirits.

Then where are we...?

[ That's certainly the question of the hour, isn't it? Asami hadn't considered ending up anywhere but the Spirit World by stepping through the portals. Could it just...somehow connect to another place on Earth? ]

None of this looks familiar.

They call it Wonderland. [The name means nothing to her, and she just shrugs blankly as she says it. The Spirit World felt more wonderful to her.] And according to the people I've talked to here, it's only one of infinite worlds.

[So Amethyst's learned that some humans have superpowers here, like in the movies. So when she sees a girl spouting fire and flying in the air, she's not too surprised. Still kinda weird to see. She comes up beneath the flying Korra, and puts her hand over her eyes like a visor to look up at her. She calls out to her, waving her free arm.]

Hey! You a superhero?

A superhero? [Korra swoops down, landing gently and turning her glider back into a staff with a swoosh of air.] I guess that's a good word for it. I'm the Avatar.

[brainmeme]

[Without losing an ounce of enthusiasm.] I have no idea what that is! But that basically means you're a superhero, right? Didja get dunked in radioactive sewage?

[Without missing a beat:] Nope, did you? You're a little... purple.

[brainmeme]

I assure you, the purple is all natural. [She poses, showing herself off.] So what else can you do? Fly and shoot fire and what?

So's being the Avatar. [Korra has been able to bend everything but air since a very young age. She's used to it at this point.] Well.... [She smirks, twitching her hands to lift the water from a nearby puddle. She bends it above Amethyst and raises her eyebrows.]

Look up.

[The second Amethyst does, of course, she'll let it fall. All over Amethyst.]

[brainmeme]

[Curious, she looks up blankly. Only to get instantly drenched. She coughs and sputters, then shakes her head like a wet dog.]

That's-- awesome! I bet you win all the water balloon fights like that!

Balloons are for non-benders. [Still, she grins and waves her hands again, pulling the rivulets of water off of amethyst and spinning them back into a bubble.]

Whoa, you can even take them back off? [This is so cool.] What can't you do?

[Find a way out of here, mostly. But Korra doesn't say it, she just shrugs.] Being able to do everything is sort of the definition of the Avatar.

Yeah, well, can you do... this!? [And she glows, and transforms into a purple wolf, howling as she does. The wolf still has her voice, so it just sounds like her being high pitched and loud, but it's for effect, okay?]

[...wow. Korra shakes her head, smirking a little.] Well, no. But I can do this.

[She sticks two fingers into her mouth and whistles loudly. After a moment, a big, fluffy white creature that looks like a cross between a polar bear and a dog bounds out of the castle and skids to a halt, bumping its giant head against Korra before moving over to sniff at Amethyst's butt.]
