Not in hell, if that's what you were expecting. [ Simon wings an eyebrow upwards but generally looks unrepentant at the look he gets for his quip. ] At least not according to me. Some others might give you different answers, depending on how grouchy they're feeling or what crap they've had to put up with recently. But we've got less fire and brimstone and more sadistic royals and crazy felines. You're in Wonderland, mate. Pull up a stool, can I get you a beer? Promise it won't shrink you.

I'm good. [ gunn mimics the eyebrow but it's sharper and big on the skeptical. he hefts his weapon in his hand, but it's more of a grasp at security to remind him that it's there. he's starting to remember himself, remember what adventure and the unknown feels like. ]

You're talking a lot and not saying much. [ though he looks a little bummed about that. a beer would be nice right about now. ] I did not see the Cheshire Cat on my way in. So how about I give you one more chance to level with me, and we can keep this pleasantness going?

Yeah, I get that a lot. The Cheshire Cat only shows up when something weird's about to happen, so if you didn't see him on the way in, count your blessings. I'm being perfectly level with you. You're in Wonderland. You've fallen down a rabbit hole, or through a mirror, or whatever insane metaphor you want to pick, but it doesn't change the fact of it. There's a window over there, if you don't believe me. Really nice view of the checkerboard hills. Try not to leave prints on the glass, would you? I just cleaned.

That chair never did anything to you. Although the nice thing about this place is it'll be fixed come morning. [ Probably. ] Look, mate, I know it sucks, but if it makes you feel any better, it's probably nothing you or your portals did. This place brings people here all the time. Sends 'em back, too. It's pretty sporadic about who and when, though. Either way, it doesn't seem to be a permanent stay, even though some people spend a fair amount of time here. You'll go back to the moment you left, though. No one's gonna be any the wiser that you've been reality-napped. Not even you.
