+ HAPPY HALLOWEEN! +

You didn't hear the announcement, and why would you? There is no event coming, it's just time for another year's Halloween! Characters can celebrate as they will, Wonderland is simply considerate enough to provide decorations for the occasion! Deck the halls with boughs of spiders fa la la la la- and all that.
--What? No, of course they're not real spiders! They're rubber! Jeez. Fake spiders, fake webs, fake skeletons- the only thing real is the great atmosphere- and the candy! It sits in bowls, it hangs from the walls, it comes in all shapes, sizes, and flavours!
...and with maybe just one or two or several really minor side effects.
IN CHARACTER. Getting into the Halloween spirit is easy, when you suddenly turn into the thing you're dressed up as. The strength of this effect may vary though, and some characters will only exhibit certain traits of their costume, while others might forget who they are entirely, and/or even transform into their costume physically.
PUMPKIN SEASON. Pumpkins are by far the most iconic decoration of this holiday, and what better way to pay homage than by turning into a pumpkin yourself! You can see and hear, you can magically speak, but you are still... just a pumpkin. Let's hope there's a smile carved into you, because you'll be wearing that expression for a while.
THEY LOOK SO REAL. They really do, some of those decorations. And if your character suffers the effects of this treat, then any decoration they come near will suddenly come to life! Flying chocolate bats, skittering rubber spiders, they owe your character their existence, and will happily follow them around everywhere... whether that's what your character wants or not.
PURE TERROR. You are afraid. No matter how fearless or brave or tough you usually are, you are now TERRIFIED of absolutely EVERYTHING. What was that noise? What's there in the shadows? OHGOD, the rubber spider looks so real!!! Better hope whoever ate that candy has somebody to hold their hand, or they might just spend the holiday hiding in one of the closets.
PURE HEROISM. All that courage has to go somewhere, so any character who gets hit by this effect will be BOLD and DARING and FEARLESS and ACTUALLY KIND OF OVERDOING IT. Not only are they scared of nothing, they will also think that now is the perfect time to prove this by hunting (real or imagined) monsters, protecting people (from dangers or minor inconveniences), and generally turning heroic antics up to eleven.
PURE LIQUOR. You'd think there was only so much alcohol a tiny piece of candy could hold, but apparently this treat is full of surprises. And your character is now full on drunk, as the proverbial skunk, and somebody should probably help them back to their room before they embarrass themselves.
DEATH!!! If your character eats this piece of candy, then they will drop dead on the spot. ( GASP! ) No, not to worry, they are totally fine! They're even saying so themselves, as they look down on their body... as a ghost? See, it IS totally fine, they are just slightly more transparent and incorporeal than usual. They'll walk it off, I'm sure...
(And hey, at least any candy ghost deaths suffered don't count towards your character's official mansion death total.)
LOVE IS IN THE AIwait, what?! Okay, so SOMEBODY apparently snuck in some leftover candy from Valentine's Day, because whatever your character just ate, it put them in a romantic mood. All that candlelight? It's a perfect start! But why watch horror movies, when there are so many romcoms instead! Costumes? Why yes, but only if theirs goes with their partner's! They don't have a partner? This is the perfect time to go on a blind date, isn't it?
Decorations will go up on October 30th, and get taken down once Halloween is over. However, stray bowls and pieces of candy may still be found on November 1st, after which all traces of the festivities and its effects will be gone for good.
Each accidental candy effect lasts 24 hours. Characters will only suffer from one effect at a time, but any characters who keep eating despite their first experience may be hit by up to three candy effects throughout the holiday.
Which pieces of candy do or don't cause any effects is completely random. This means that your character may stuff themselves with candy for three days, and never suffer anything worse than a mild stomach twinge; or they may try one single piece of candy corn, and BAM, talking pumpkin time. In other words, how much or how little your character participates in this event is entirely up to you.
QUESTIONS? There's a thread below! Otherwise, HAVE FUN AND ENJOY YOURSELVES!

Will it kick in if they turn into a ghost?

Death mechanics, in that case, would work essentially as depicted above: The ghost will disappear after 24 hours, but the (un)dead body will need to be put down, and incur a regular mansion death, along with the additional downtime of [ one more day for first death, two more days for second death, and so on ].
Hope that helps and wasn't worded too convoluted - but if so, follow-up questions go here!

Would candy gotten from the closets be regular candy with no side effects whatsoever, or would it be random chance like the bowls of candy all over Wonderland?
