[How is this the weirdest part of the last three weeks? He's been given superpowers, scooped into a war between Aliens and the Earth, and thought they were finally up for a break into something more normal. He'd been dozing off in the middle of a math test, and then, suddenly, he was waking up on a beach spitting sand out of his mouth. It's kind of a Planet of the Apes moment, but at least there isn't any half-buried Statue of Liberty in immediate view.

Some boys his age daydream about hot girls on trampolines when they pass out in the middle of the day. It seems like the best he's going to get is the knowledge that at least he's not alone. He pulls himself to his feet, brushes off the topmost later of sand, and jogs off to the figure in the distance. Might as well get some explanation if he's not going to immediately get back to earning his C.]

Uh -- hey! Sorry to bother you. Do you have a minute?

[It would be a minute for the dumbest round of questions ever, he's sure, but he's done way dumber things in his dreams.]



[After he's gotten the basics down and gotten over the initial culture shock, he'll make a test transmission over the network. It sounds like these people are under attack fairly often. It might be best to get a sense of who might need someone to look out for them when things go bad.]

So I spend my whole life dreaming about getting out of a small town only to move into a place that's even smaller. I'm pretty sure that's irony. So, hey, I guess. I'm Jason Scott, new inmate.
